Firstly we are proud to have created and voluntarily maintain a free network of forums that allow you, the fans, to engage in (mostly) intelligent and (usually) well mannered discussions and debates about your favorite science fiction franchises. Secondly we are proud to be recognized as one of the more reputable news platforms for science fiction movies.
No news service can honestly claim to report 100% accurate news 100% of the time. When we, or any other news platform is presented with a "scoop" from an unverifiable anonymous source we have to make a judgment call - do we post the scoop with the risk that it may be fake, or do we call it fake and not report the news only to later discover it was a genuine scoop. When we, or any other news platform post such news we hold no guarantees that what is reported is accurate, but we have always allowed for you to make up your own mind on its validity. If such news is revealed to be fake, it is fake and of no importance, but if the news is genuine then discussion and debate will inevitably follow.
When news from an anonymous source is revealed to be fake, one should not vent ones anger and frustration at the platform that reported the news, but instead at the source for creating the fake news in the first place. Usually such fake newsmakers AKA trolls are random individuals with no respect for the product of which their fake news is meant to represent, but occasionally such trolls target specific news platforms (not just the Scified network) in an attempt to discredit said platform. Such targeted attacks are only ever aimed at popular, successful news reporting platforms by lesser, less reputable platforms (or fans/members thereof). The very fact that they employ, condone or support such tactics is reason enough to avoid such platforms.
Finally while we the Scified team encourage your discussions, debates and opinions we have always asked for and been proud when such posts, no matter the topic are written intelligently and maturely. The repeated use of foul language and insults aimed at our members and/or our staff shows ones immaturity, such immaturity only succeeds in revealing ones foolishness to the community at large. Remember, any willingness to repeatedly use foul lahguage and/or make things personal loses one the argument before it is even made. Disagreement, argument and the intelligent, mature exercise of conversation are reasons for participating here, the point and purpose of this and all our forums; Please respect that.

Thanks Gav, well said. It's been a pleasure donating my time here and seriously all we try and do is give fans a place to talk with each other about their favorite movies.
I am honestly unsure as to why people are attacking Chris over this, all he is guilty of is trusting the wrong person. He acted like an over enthusiastic fan and posting something someone did on purpose to trick him. He never meant any harm, he even deleted the thread when he found out it was fake news. That can happen to anyone, Chris just needs to be more careful next time but he never posted to deceive that was the other person who made up the whole story.
Chris is a fan too, it's why he created the site, he built this place from scratch and has never hidden the fact its a fansite, we even have links to the real site on the main login page.
