yeah seriously. i understand the secrecy and all but this is completely rediculous. there not updating us on anything. not even a single screenshot. marketing has to start soon or nobody is going to know about the movie besides us

Well, at this pace, my best guess is that we'll get a new trailer one month after the movie gets released.

spiderman may have released 3 trailers, but sony has over spoiled the movie, also xmen hasn't even released it's second trailer. march is the best place to release the 2nd trailer, then the last trailer will probably be released near the end of apirl, why do i think march and april are the best months to realse a trailer instead of feburay, because it is the perfect time, i'd prefer a movie where the marketing goes full scale 1½-2 weeks before the release of the movie, you can still build a lot of hype. it's not too late, also stop picking on Legendary and warner bros, they've done a better job at marketing than pacific rim and it has A LOT of attention by mainstream media, MTV, Newspaper companies, IGN and other big entertainment companies

You guys better not bitch about it and blame wb/lp if the trailer is'nt out. You guys were trashing them when they didn't release stuff on november 3rd when it was just a silly rumor started by godzilla-movies.

That is one of the best pieces of Godzilla art I have ever seen, and ive seen a bunch of them! In the end, if someone said this was an official design, I'd fall for it. 10/10 stars!

Dude you crazy.. No Marketing until May..... The Marketing will most go to full gear when the Trailer Hits. In April Merchandise will be released for the Film. They Cast members will have interviews getting close to the film. But you can say it will pick up in March & then Slow Down and pick up again in Mid April toward the release.

I think a animated musical Godzilla movie for kids would be cool, I just watch Frozen yesterday, and it was one of the best Disney movies.

I would like to see some military action, it would be epic if the showed tanks and jets firing missiles to a huge silhouette hidden inside smoke and debris falling of buildings, they could give some hints about Godzilla with this one. I would also like to see a small part of the Airport action sequence to get some small hints at the Mutos.

@GODZILLAFANGREECE I totally agree with you. Seriously! What the heck its up with Legendary and WB? I wonder when these guys are planning to launch the marketing campaign (if they ever planned on doing one). I hate to sound like an alarmist or a melodramatic idiot but, Come on! Pacific Rim had to compete against f***** Grown Ups 2 (which didn't have enough marketing) and the damn Minions, and the rest is something we all know (Yeah PacRim underperformed).

Now Godzilla is competing against two major blockbusters... How the hell do they even plan on getting any success when there's zero marketing on the internet and at movie theaters?! Even Cloverfield had way better marketing on a much smaller budget. Most people around me don't even know that a new Godzilla movie is being made and if they know about it is because I've been telling them about it countless times on freaking Facebook.

The point is: Mainstream audiences are waiting for May to arrive so that they can go to movie theaters and watch TASM 2 and the X-Men, not Godzilla because they don't even know a new movie will be released on the same moth.

Its not gonna FLOP it'll end up doing as well as pacific rim or a litttle better,but seriously we probably wont see any promotion or marketing till may.

I think the title should really be "Gamera vs Godzilla", because Gamera is a monster who's dedicated to protecting the planet from Gyaos and anyother dangerous creature. 

I hate how people think that Godzilla just fights monsters and saves the world from alien invaders. In reality he fights monsters and aliens because of his instincts, and he actually hates humans because of the environmental damage we've done to the planet, and how we've mutated him. 

I know that Godzilla is popular with kids, but there's no way that Disney would ever consider owning the rights to the franchise, because the Godzilla movies are supposed to be statements against warring powers, nuclear weapons, and social conflicts. 

I've always loved Godzilla's lower pitched roar. Why they changed it in "Godzilla vs Mothra" I don't know, and I really don't have any problems with it. But I think they did it because Toho wanted to attract a younger audience, and not scare them with a roar that sounds like it came out of a monster from hell. 

I'm know next to nothing about nuclear physics, but I think Godzilla's atomic breath is the energy given off from nuclear fission, which would explain why it's spikes glow. If it consumes enough radiation, the energy increases and turns red, and if Godzilla consumes even more radiation, it's beam would probably be white. I think the reason for Godzilla's nuclear meltdown is because it's getting old and can't sustain the radiation, and there must be another Godzilla who's younger to absorb the radiation and become even more powerful. 

I personally want to see every Godzilla movie in there original cuts and in their original language. 

I've always thought that the real hero in the Godzilla saga should be Mothra, and the main villain would be King Ghidorah. 

Guys the movie starts close to Spider-Man and X Men so when the F... LP and WB will start with the Promotion of the Movie ...???!! spider-man has already 3 released trailer and they show the trailer in the Theaters the same as they do with X Men, and Godzilla? Nothing ! It seems like LP and WB doesen't care about the movie otherwise  I caint understand how they treed the movie. Withs this way the movie will totaly crash at the box office...im leaving in Germany and no one knows here that a new Godzilla movie is coming because there is no Promotion..!!

I've never seen a Godzilla movie, but based off of what you regulars say about it, much like they are to Star Wars, they would probably kill Godzilla (not in a good way, I mean by staring Zach Effron or some other Disney star, for starters). That would be horrifying though (once again, not in a good way).

Yes I'm going to have to suger coat my rants alot more so I don't go overboard or it will sound worse then I want it too. Its true that I'm like that. I just don't think twice before doing something...I just do it. I think my rantpart 1 was an epic fail. I almost laughed at my own defeat, after a while it seemed halaruos.

really they were going to use motion capture but decided not to because it looked too much like 'am man in a rubber suit', if they wouldnt use motion capture becuas it looked like suitmation, i doubt they used a suit, also i thought roland emmerich didnt like suitmation.

I'm glad you thought your first "rant" was so successful you needed to make a follow up. At least it gave me something to laugh at this morning, even though it was literally you calling yourself stupid for a whole paragraph then following it up with how every1 is equal and we aren't smarter than you.

I'm fine with CGI. I'll always love practical effects, and suitimation could be used too, but for any scenes that display a lot of movement CGI needs to be used.

I remember reading that even the 1998 TriStar Zilla had a suit form used for a few scenes, despite being mostly a CGI monster. Below is one of a few pics I've found that shows the suit in question...

...so the 2014 American Godzilla could easily be the same deal, a lot of its scenes are CGI but a couple would be the suit.

I'm excited about the upcoming trailer! I hope to see...

1: More American Godzilla scenes (Full body view would be good, but even a decent head shot would be cool)

2: To see the Muto(s), winged or otherwise

3: More about the human characters (like Lieutenant Ford, Serizawa, ect)

It introduced Anguirus so I will always love it for that. The swapping of the roars still confuses and bothers me but I like it more than Godzilla's Revenge and Son of Godzilla, so not the worse in the series.
