@instinctivegigan hmm something tells me you would've chose gigan even with that vague answer but i can't tell what it is.
Let's see, badass metallic alien made of blades, or a giant beetle? Hmmmm. Yeah, Gigan is just too epic to be compared to Megalon, it's not fair
For me,it's a perfect, dark menacing roar,it brings out the pain and wailing of the monster itself from getting mutated in pain from the A-Bomb.It's dark and gritty still while being modern.
also instincctive gigan could be right it does make sense especially the 2nd trailer airing with 300:2
New discussion coming in a few seconds...
and I am from Katerini in Greece....
its sounds like Godzilla but it's not exactly his roar ... I like more his original iconic roar...
i have 3 theroys 1. they think this will be a good way to hype the movie, 2. they don't want to spoil the movie and 3. i think they are afraid to outright show the full godzilla design
We'll only have to wait one more month for the toys to appear officially, and we have less than two weeks for a trailer/trailer announcement since it's airing with 300 on March 7th. We won't have to wait much longer guys. Promise
What's with all the hush-hush secrecy? Why does Godzilla have to be completely under wraps? It's not like it has to be a completely classified top secret project!
I'm from Massachusetts GODZILLAFANGREECE.
It's ok I didn't know godzillafangreece.
I like the roar, it makes him sound big, scary and powerful, but it isn't very memorable, by which I mean it's really cool when I hear it, but I can never quite remember exactly what it sounds like afterwards.
Whats your problem with comments ...???!!!
and sorry English is not my first Language im from Europa
I think it's just the vibration in the throat, I don't think it was meant to sound like a whale.
Can you spell correctly please?Thank you.
I'm pretty sure whoever did this just guessed, like many others have, that the new trailer will be released with 300: Rise of an Empire and started this countdown so that gullible people would think he has real inside information if he turned out to be right.
Any more comments Godzillafangreece?
i dont like how the Roar Sound at the end , too much like a whale ...
Gigan wins hands down because Megalon is basically a stubborn child who's weird.Gigan is cunning, fast and can shoot lasers from is one chicken eye. So,Gigan wins because he's a cunning, fast robo dino chicken alien thingamajiger from weird aliens who can shoot lasers!LAZERZ FOR PETE'S SAKE!Megalon can only fly and shoot rocks and shoot a horn laser. That's my opinion.
I wouldn't worry about that; considering that magazine article that talked about how they studied bears and komodo dragons fighting to make the monster fights, it's pretty much certain that at least one of the monsters will be a match for Godzilla.
17 days is a too long of a wait.
Yeah, sparks and glitter kind of became a visual staple of Kawikata as the Heisei series went on... I don't understand why he thought both were a good idea as they both became more prevelant as the movies continued.
The sparks especially bothered me in vs. MechaGodzilla II as well. When Godzilla and MechaGodzilla lock beams, both times, a spark explosion happens. I always found it anti-climatic and it really took me out of the movie. Shouldn't we be experiencing an actual explosion? The beam lock in the original Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla was far more brutal. Final Wars was also a much better example of that kind of thing.
It's a shame that Higuchi showed up Kawikata at almost every turn in the Gamera trilogy. I remember watching the first Gamera film a being truly wowed by the visual effects, the massive explosions, the way the shots were framed, the low angle photography to enhance the perception, the detail of the miniatures...etc... vs. Destroyah came out the same year and didn't stand a chance against those kind of visuals.
The question that sits for me is why did Kawikata let himself slip so far that his visual effects were, at times, inferior to the Showa series.
Gigan- He was resurrected numerous times. Megalon- Does not back down easily but he is THE most annoying monster in all the Godzilla games. Gigan wins.
People can't take it when rumors aren't true, instead they should just shrug it off and move on. I for one, am exited for the 300 sequel, not only for the movie, but because it makes sense for Godzilla to be released with it, having the same audience and all.
What is the point of Godzilla fighting another monster in this reboot if they don't even pose as a challenge or threat to Godzilla? Thats it though...THERE IS NO POINT THEN.
Tough one... Going to have to go Gigan (Showa) then Megalon, then Gigan (Final Wars).
I would like if they took this or a similar route. I actually wrote several research papers on this subject in college. I think the Mesopotamian chaos monsters created by Tiamat would be the way to go. (One of which is Leviathon). In this story, Marduk has to defeat the chaos monsters to create, well creation. The chaos monsters came from the seas and caused a lot of destruction. You can even find references to them in biblical texts (such as Job and Genisis). They are actually a common theam in Mediterranean mythology/theology. I think it would work as a starting point, showing the age of the monsters, but I personally believe they should keep religon out of entertainment. People ether get offended by religion interfering with the movie, or get offended when the movie inevitably gets sething "wrong." It's best just to avoide it all together.
Yay, finally something to get the feeling of anticipation back. Even if it's b.s.
I don't understand why everyone's getting so up-in-arms about rumors nowadays. Rumors are a fun way for a fanbase to converse and start up big discussions that might not have come up otherwise.
meh it only makes sense that the new trailer be in front of 300 even if i do think this clock was a lackluster idea
Duh, me! It's counting down to 17 days, I thought 17 hours at first. That would put it at "300" timeframe, which makes sense. Sorry, to call you out.
And rumors are a fact of fan sites, Reggie1138, that just means we're really excited about the prospect of seeing anything regarding Godzilla. Always hope for the best and never hold your breath!
Remember guys, it's UNIVERSAL STUDIOS. Which means it is only for movies by Universal or movies Universal helped make. Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but this is very unlikely. Although it is a good thought.
This is exactly how more Bull@#$! gets started. Enough with the rumors already I'm fed up and I have a feeling we all are to a point.
LOL! Let's not forget about the excessive use of Sparks! Seriously everytime a kaiju runs into another, sparks!! What's the obsession with sparks? Not very organic. In the scene where Rodan pecks at Godzilla's face you see the sparks fly and even hear a metallic sound. Is Godzilla made of titanium steel? :p
17days is long time. a trailer is rated like 5 days untill it comes out
Dude, you sure you want to go down this road? A trailer hasn't even been rated yet. I know the Guardians of the Galaxy is supposed to come out tomorrow, hope we didn't mix it up.
@Kyero. I think you're connecting this movie too much with Toho's. When I saw the teaser trailer in front of the Hobbit, no body laughed. Nobody even talked, there was just silence. That was strange, because just before that everyone had been talking up a storm. Godzilla literally silenced the theater. The Captain America trailer came on right after that, and everyone almost immediately started talking again. After a reaction like that, I can't see how people wouldn't take this movie seriously.
Fear Godzilla? I think so. I'm expecting to fear him. Legendary is not creating an American Godzilla; they are creating what Gareth believes the 1954 Godzilla should have been (from the Empire Magazine interview). Even in the trailer, you don't realize you're watching a Godzilla trailer untill you actually see him almost half-way through. Some people even miss that! Legendary appears to be truly rebooting him; literally erasing everything about him and recreating what Toho created back in '54. Based on the trailer, we are not watching the Godzilla we know and love. We are watching an uncontrollable force devastate and destroy. It's dark. It's suspenseful. And it's scary.
You can't really say that because people know Godzilla is fake, they can't fear him. You can't say that because he has some laughable movies, people can't fear him. Because Batman is certainly fake. He has had some incredibly laughable movies. But can you sit here and tell me that Batman didn't scare anyone in Batman Begins? I know I thought he was scary!
@GODZILLAFAN1995- "cyborg dino chicken with metal claws" that was the best description of Gigan ever! Hahaha
