I think it's just the vibration in the throat, I don't think it was meant to sound like a whale.
I like the roar, it makes him sound big, scary and powerful, but it isn't very memorable, by which I mean it's really cool when I hear it, but I can never quite remember exactly what it sounds like afterwards.
Whats your problem with comments ...???!!!
and sorry English is not my first Language im from Europa
and I am from Katerini in Greece....
its sounds like Godzilla but it's not exactly his roar ... I like more his original iconic roar...
For me,it's a perfect, dark menacing roar,it brings out the pain and wailing of the monster itself from getting mutated in pain from the A-Bomb.It's dark and gritty still while being modern.

haha yup indeed it's awesome like awesomeness, ^-^
welcome to the forums godzillafangreece, ;) I also tend to do short comments sometimes, as you the english is no my first language, btw in spanish we say Europa instead of europe a curious fact to the godzilla fans.
sometimes I watch the trailer just to can listen that sexy roar!
The world will spin well past our last breath, but I will always care about you
i actually like the new roar too, it is still somewhat a iconic roar only more painful plus the godzilla roar i heard in theathers on the teaser trailer on youtube it sounds more bonechilling than it does on youtube it has more of a rolling thunder effect to it really scary if you ask me.
