MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-17-2014 9:04 PMHey fellow G-Fans I just wanted to get one vital message across to you all. I've been noticing over the past month the excitement for this movie has been at a fever pitch. That in and of itself is a good thing but I feel expectations are soaring right through the roof right now. After a 123 second trailer and a 4-6 second look at Godzilla himself. That's it so far guys. We've been waiting for this movie for years and here we are less then 3 full months away and that's all we have to show for it. Don't let your lack of exposure to this new film frustrate you continue to be patient. I'm 43 years old and have been a fan of Godzilla since I could crawl. I remember back in the 70's-early 90's you really did'nt have trailer announcements they just kinda happened. You went to see a movie and boom you were treated to a glimpse of a movie you had almost forgotten about that you wanted to see as well. It was great!!! You felt like you just got a treat for showing up. Now we are so use to every detail being spoiled for us that films don't feel the same way anymore. Over exposure can be just as bad as over hype. Remember how a key crowd pleasing scene in the Avengers movie was spoiled in a trailer? I'm talking about the scene where Hulk leaps out of nowhere to save Tony Stark from falling to his death. That shoulda brought the house down with excitement but instead what we got felt like a movie that had been out for weeks already because we saw that scene over and over again in trailers and tv spots. I don't know about everyone else but I want just the bare bones when it comes to info on the film. I want my true surprises to happen on opening night. We all deserve that feeling. Be patient.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-17-2014 9:42 PMToo true, we need to chillsies a bit. I wonder how much my blood pressure and adrenaline output have spiked this year just waiting for this film. This is a movie experience that comes along only a few times in a lifetime, it's a little screwy it's just around the corner. An international Godzilla with a huge budget, an amazing cast and a director the fans really trust. A second trailer is inexorable, legendary isn't trying to have an embargo over their ads. The studio probably just wanted to wade through the super bowl and olympic period, think about how refreshing the trailer will be after watching spider-man, robocop and cap trailers for weeks on end without pause. Or just don't watch it at all like you say, we have been waiting 15 years to see a big studio Godzilla not the trailer.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-17-2014 9:58 PM@CANOSGROWL Don't get me wrong I really want to see the next trailer too. I'm just not willing to obsess over it every waking second of the day. It's not healthy.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-18-2014 3:55 AMGreat post, I couldn't agree more. The spectacle of seeing Godzilla for the first time needs to be preserved for the film's release. For a creature feature like this the more mystery surrounding it, the better. I'm going to the cinema to see Godzilla, that's what I'm paying for, so to see him 3 months early on youtube would completely ruin that sense of excitement. That's why Cloverfield did so well and had people queuing up on opening day...they came to see what the f*ck lobbed the statue of liberty's head half way across Manhatten. They were clever with the marketing and I hope Legendary are equally as prudent with their trailers.
