I'd also point out that there's nothing in there that says Godzilla and Muto are from the same time period, and that sentence that begins with "Rarely seen" is a separate thought from the line about his Atomic Ray. It's establishing context for the next sentence that refers to him as "Gojira". So we can't really assume anything about how often he uses his ray or what affect it has on him.
Thank god he's a male.
well, you have a point, pherhaps the lack of good visual effects decived me in that film, it didnt look like either were hurt at all until godzilla suddenly finished him off with the breath.
all in all, i guess i could see the muto have a role like anguirus in G raids again.
Fixed that point for ya. ;)
they literally were fighting the whole movie, idk how that isn't a significant threat. if he wasn't significant godzilla would've been able to off him early in the film. Also Being shot in the face with atomic breathe and being able to withstand that, im sorry but that IS a significant threat, of course for that film.
Great minds think alike :P
it says he is "amphibious" not an amphibian. not all amphibious animals are amphibians, take crocodiles for example.
Amphibious does not mean amphibian. It means Godzilla can travel on land and in water. Crocodiles are amphibious creatures for example.
haha! we made the same point at the same time LOL
Well if MUTO is really that much of a threat against Godzilla seeing as they absorb radiation, I guess we could have a nice Gyaos-like villain for Godzilla. I personally want to see the 8 legged MUTO, or Bardiel as im calling him, have alot of screentime and actually fight ferociously cuz you gotta admit. 4 huge arms plus 2 small ones. Yeah that will give Goji some trouble
anguirus was a natural enemy, but not a significant threat
link updated, if there are still issues, let me know. I don't use google drive much so im not sure how "sharing" works.
Godzilla did have a "natural" enemy in the second movie, he was an ankylosaur called Anguirus. How is this significantly different?
Regarding there being more than one Godzilla, again, that was suggested at the end of the 1st film and confirmed with Godzilla Raids Again. Sounds to me like the director is sticking very close to the original films.
As far as what sets him apart... he did have nukes dropped on him, and his species feeds on radiation.
"Really looking like that script is real.
Also, I guess I wasn't too nutty with my precambrian theory, but its looking like Godzilla's species is even older than precambrian."
That's not possible: The Precambrian dates from the formation of the Earth 4.6 billion years ago to 540 million years ago. Only simple animals similar to sponges, jellyfish and worms had evolved prior to the end of the Precambrian. Godzilla has gills, so he is either a reptile that secondarily evolved gills after they were lost in his reptilian acestors, or he is a highly derived reptilomorph amphibian of some sort. Zoologically speaking, he would be placed in an entirely serperate class apart from amniotes (reptiles and mammals) and his connective tissues would be extremely different (and much stronger) than anything found in real animals. His bones would have to be as strong as some of the strongest metals on Earth, and his connective tissues would need to consist of polymers 100s of times stronger than regular proteins. Interesingly, if he were a real creature, the adaptations that allow his species to support their weight would render him nearly industructible. The fact that he lives off ionizing radiation also makes him a radiotroph; basically an organism that produces organic compounds from CO2 and some pigment that reacts with ionizing radation such as gamma rays.
Regarding the Mutos, all I can say is virtually every organism has parasites of some kind, so why should Godzilla not have natural enemies?
i as well, hate the idea that godzilla is the hunted, or that he is actually "forced" to do something, hes the freaking king for crying out loud!while i dont mind the idea of a species of godzillas, i kind of hope that there will be something that sets Gojira apart from the rest, something that we dont completely understand which makes him far more deadly
It doesnt work!! :(
Is it the plot point that you dont like, the technical stuff, or you just dont like the idea of insects hurting our favorite monster Godzilla?
Because honestly, imo, that isn't a good reason. Not bashing you or anything.
To be sincere, I found this a little disapointing, because I didn't liked the idea that some giant bugs "hunted" the Godzilla species to put they eggs on it and see it die slowly, just like some giant wasps do to species of giant spiders (tarantulas?).
That is like to say that a tiger or lion is directly and particularly killed by a smaller foe. :o(
Well, that is what the suposed "leaked" script said. I realy hope this is NOT true.
That IS good... Damn!
I'm usually a harsh critic when it comes to artwork, but this is really impressive. Nice work!
@ JUNKERDE - I am not aware of any newer, skinnier Godzilla. The Godzilla on the cover of Empire Magazine is the final version you know. Just look at the one in the trailer and compare it to the magazine. It's the same creature. Just a different angle. But that is the final Godzilla.
The "Concept Godzillas" have long since been revealed to be the Brazil shot, the 2012 teaser, the Godzilla encounter in 2013, the 2013 teaser shown in Hall H, and the teaser trailer we got before the official trailer release.
But the one on Empire Magazine is the final Godzilla. That's been confirmed.
Anyway, I like this Godzilla's face. I don't see anything rat-like about it. Gareth Edwards said they used dogs, bears, and eagles in the designing of Godzilla's face, so it's only natural that it's going to have a slightly mammalian feel to it at certain angles. If they modeled his face off of mammals, then it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that he's going to have mammalian characteristics.
But yeah, the ultimate point is that I like it. I don't see anything weird about it or wrong with it. But that's just me.
I have tried to avoid reading leaked scripts due to the fact that most of them are faked or first drafts that sometimes don't resemble the final film in almost any way, shape or form. Though I haven't read this one I can see from what many have pointed out after the most recent trailer that the leaked script is as close to spot on as it can be. What I would have wanted even more is to be one of those invitees for the 20 min. screening they showed. Saw a trailer review from IGN British crew and they were blown away by what they saw.
Good job not putting any spoilers out there other than to confirm what was in the script and what was on the screen in the trailer.
I remember getting so much hate for believing in the script...Oh well, i dont hold a grudge.
Anyway, i think all of this is good. And the things i read in the leak script(I still have a few of the pages, but its nothing important) where pretty cool.
Good guesses! I guess I'm making a few stops on my way to work tomorrow... just in case! :)
Naestved Cinema, Naestved.
And no one is going to know what that is...
This is cool info, excellent find! I'm happy to hear that the American Godzilla might not be the only one of its kind. Leaves room for all kinds of possibilities for future movies.
Is his tail detachable or rubber because where is his tail in the box?

@Danzilla93
I'm guessing its a retail store of some sort. *Trollface.*
But judging by the blue trim... walmart maybe? Sam's Club?
Also... this image appears to be taken in a store! WHERE WAS THIS TAKEN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! And why am I not there right now! :)
It doesn't matter one whit to me whether the leaked script is real or fake.
I'm confused about your desire to be "right" in discussions about the movie. Big deal, really. Just because you chose read a leaked script and ruin the movie for yourself doesn't make you more knowledgeable than fans who are waiting to see the movie on its own terms.
It's as if you're bragging about winning a game that no one else is playing or even wants to play.
Yes, I am engaging in some pre-film speculation based on tidbits of info from reviewers. It's FUN TO SPECULATE. I'm not claiming that it is what is really going to be in the movie.
So, in conclusion, you are right. Your knowledge of the film is correct and ours is not. But at least I will enjoy the surprises of the movie on May 16th. You won't.
Gojira2k:
THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO KNOW!!!!!!!! The image in the other thread looks like it was taken in a store! ARE STORES GETTING THESE THINGS ALREADY?!?!?!?! And if so, what am I doing here in front of my computer with Godzilla money burning a hole in my pocket?!?! :)
@Gojira2K

This is getting craycray.
