I personally think these early screeners are talking about The Muto monsters. Remember the toy leak came "after" this 20 minute screening. I think that these people were just wowed with the BIG Muto in the 20 minute clip, since they had no idea what it looked like including 99% of us at that time. The key to remember is the 20 min screening was "before" the toy
Guys, we already have a thread on this exact scene and the red smoke right here:
http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/32157
I'm not going to close this one because there's already plenty replies to it, but please be mindful of where to put your thoughts and when its necessary to make a new thread. Just because you have a new idea on a past thread doesn't justify making a new one.
Just a reminder that we're trying to keep things a little more organized and a little less cluttered around here. Thanks.
Its a theory bro... He can speculate if he wants to. If there is a major spoiler involved (which there is), it is obviously more than just showing Godzilla or not.
^Exactly. Michiuru Oshima never remixed Ifukube's Godzilla theme and fans tend to cite that as one of the most perfect themes for Godzilla. Desplat doesn't need or have to imitate Ifukube in order to succeed.
HARGER - I disagree. Ifukube's themes have been left out of plenty of Godzilla movies and they all did just fine. One of the most famous examples is Return of Godzilla, or Godzilla 1985 for those who don't know that they're the same movie. Ifukube had nothing to do with that film, yet it remains one of the best Godzilla films in the entire franchise.
Desplat described his score as "non-stop fortissimo, with lots of brass, Japanese drums, and electric violin."
For those who don't understand music terminology, "fortissimo" means "very loud." Basically when they're pounding the crap out of the drums, drilling the strings with the bow on violins and cellos and such, and basically doing what they can to play as loud as they can. Japanese drums and electric violin is kind of interesting, and the electriv violin especially has caught my interest. I can't say I know how he'll make use of it, but we'll find out!
I think the score will kick ass!
AGGRESSIVEKAIJU45 - We actually DO know what color his atomic breath will be. It's been confirmed by more than one source, including the toys, that it's going to be blue.
The only two reasons behind that glow are either fire, or a flare, as stated by KAIJUFALL3 in the main post.
The last quote means absolutely nothing as far as what the final scene depicts. All it says is that the teaser trailer gave us a glimpse of Godzilla for the purpose of giving us a glimpse at Godzilla. Nothing more. The teaser trailer where we see Godzilla during the Halo jump is obviously made only for that teaser, and the real scene will show something different.
It truly is as simple as that RF.
What you're doing with these quotes is you're trying to force your own desires and wishes to see something that you consider awesome like a Godzilla vs. Godzilla battle into them, and you're misinterpreting the information that's being provided. It's a very common mistake. Also, quotes aren't facts. They're quotes. Facts are literally "indisputable" pieces of information, and a quote can be disputed all day every day.
Observe! (please ;P)
"We also learned a plot point that makes the film 400% more awesome." That's an opinion, and it's got absoutely no meaning whatsoever except to say that the person who it comes from thought the movie would be 400x more epic than they originally expected based on what they saw in the footage. Does that mean there's another Godzilla? Absolutely not. Where you're getting that idea from? I have no idea.
The second quote simply states that Gareth asked them not to talk about the monsters, but this has been the case since the beginning. Ever since the 2012 comic con, details about the Mutos have been hidden and asked to remain confidential. It's nothing new.
The third quote also says nothing about another Godzilla. All it says is that in Gareth's opinion, watching a movie with a monster like Godzilla, most people want to see it fight something other than humans. That's all it says. Gareth believes that most people want to watch monster vs. monster. However, what else exists in the movie besides Godzilla? Muto monsters. There is nothing in that quote to say that there is another Godzilla in there.
The fourth quote, as I stated already, simply states that the teaser trailer's Halo drop scene is different than what's actually in the final movie. That is nothing new. Lots of trailers show scenes that don't make it into the final movie. Again, there is nothing to say that another Godzilla is in the movie in that fourth quote.
The picture you posted just shows a big, flat, red claw/spike of some kind. Does it bear a resemblance to Zilla's spines? Yes, but where are the rest of them? Given the angle, if it were Zilla or another Godzilla, then you would have to see the rest of them since there is a bit of symmetry to both creature's spines. There aren't any other spines/spikes in that picture. The chances it's Godzilla are pretty much zero.
What's strange in that flare scene is that you hear the flares, but that's it. When a 350 foot monster's that close, you hear it. 100% convinced it's for the effect for tthe trailer, and the movie will be different with sound added in...unless Godzilla's wearing sneakers? :)
Hmm... I don't think that's what's happening, but allow me to please explain my opinion.
Godzilla isn't the type to 'chase' an enemy. I think that night scene with the flares is just the soldiers trying to figure out what the hell Godzilla is. I think that this scene is probably part of the 1999 sequence and is his first major appearance on land after swimming between the ships and causing the tidal wave in the trailer. The soldiers are likely just trying to light him up so everyone can see him in the darkness and figure out what he is so they can start working on trying to bring him down.
That's my opinion anyway.
I don't believe Godzilla is going to 'chase' the Mutos. There has been no confirmation that there is any kind of deep link between the two outside of the metaphorical. Honestly speaking I doubt Godzilla will share any relations with the Mutos whatsoever, and that the 'link' between them is, in my opinion, nothing more than the idea that they possibly share a point of origin in the nuclear realm. But outside of that, I doubt there's going to be any significant link between them that would cause Godzilla to 'chase' the Mutos.
But again, this is just my opinion on the matter.
Fixed ;) and is a really good sketch, I like the tail.
I think the winged Muto is the smaller of the two. The 8 legged Muto is apparently supposed to be the brute in this case
i think he's saying since the muto glows, the red flares the soldiers are shooting are trying to imitate the MUTO's glow, so its basically a Godzilla and muto chasing eachother to bring attention to one another
godzilla and slattern are of probable equal size. Striker eureka is screwed. godzilla would beat slattern from the atomic breath.
wow!! just as good as matt frank!
slattern is only like what around 5,000 tons or something like that? Godzilla has been over half a million tons and has slapped around monsters bigger than himself, king ghidorah comes to mind. however slattern takes up more space than godzilla, in fact the new godzilla is only about as tall as raiju, and yet he weighs a hell of alot more. simply put, Godzilla is incredibly dense and strong, slattern wouldn't be able to budge him! and then theres durabilility, which goes to godzilla, duh, and of course his nuclear abilities. godzilla would win without even trying!
I'm not talking about him glowing re I'm just saying that this might be what happens in the movie
It's been speculated that the 8 legged muto isn't the big boss monster for a while. It's the flying 1 that is getting all the attention, and is thought to hold that title. A lot of Godzilla's most popular friends and foes are flying(Rodan Ghidrah, mothra) so a homage would most likely take form from that monster.
godzilla has given us times to cry in the 90's era. i wouldn't be suprised. makes for a better movie at times.
Well they did say something along the lines of Godzilla fighting SOMETHING. And that is why I have doubts about the big surprise being the 8 legged Muto, because we already know what it looks like
Godzilla farted over a fire and POOF! there you have it....
i'm definetely gonna see 300 2. dark horse comic movies are awsome.
I think the 400x more amazing quote could mean a number of things, but I'd put it more along the lines of a potential very close homage to an old foe rather than 2 Godzilla
s.
i think it could be his nuclear breath. He has had red fire in the 90's and 2000's eras.
good speculation. but it looks like you've told the film's plot. Hopfully the awakening comic will be a prequel to this and just as good.
Quote: ok, I totally agree that it could be Godzilla. However, I just can't see how that it being "Godzilla vs. a Muto" would be such a highly-secretive plot point. After all, the reviewers ARE talking about other monsters, so the fact that Godzilla is going to be fighting them can't possibly be "400% more awesome". After all, just about EVERY Godzilla movie ever made (exc 1954 & 1998) have him fighting other giant monsters.
-You know, that is actually a a pretty good point. I have thought about this when reading descriptions of the 20 minute sneak peak, and it seemed too late to go as far to call a fight with the Mutos spoiler material. If it was the bigger Muto that Godzilla was fighting, then why would it be so "spoilery" considering how the embargo date ends in less than 2 weeks. Hmm... interesting
Well, we all know that Gareth is referring to the world around Godzilla and his adversaries in terms of "realism". It's just that us fans like to speculate on how we can formulate "realistic" explanations for the creatures themselves. It's just supposed to be fun and thought-provoking, but often times, fans will try and take it too far.
Personally, I've come up with theories that to me are quite realistically plausible in terms of explaining various aspects of what people consider the "unrealistic" aspects i.e. Godzilla and his foes and their individual traits. I just like to do it because it makes me appreciate our hero a bit more, you know? Some people try and state it as fact, I like to state it as plausible fan-fare.
Like a sunrise, you can see the shine before the actual thing. Thats what we see in that picture, something is shining bright behind him
My idea is that the HALO jump scene is part of the climax. I DID read something along the lines of a huge surprise in the movie somewhere, particularly near the end of the film. But I think a Godzilla vs Godzilla fight would be kind of a ripoff (at least if they looked the exact same). Perhaps there is a true big bad that is revealed towards the end?
This theory seems to be similar to the "Star Wars Episode 3" thing where Anakin was part of the climax, and not a completely different "thing" from Obi Wan. It sounds confusing, but I just wasn't too fond of that idea.
Mr. Gman these figures are coming up to fans door and some are being taken down. But that's not a big deal' the only one is if the movies is gonna SUCK. So far I don't think it would.
Light reflects. Thats probably the case here.
The realism is probably referring to the humans perspectives as if the natural disaster actually happened. You can't really turn Godzilla into *realism*. That was the problem with the 1998 film. He just looked like a giant velociraptor
@ Cobrazilla: I agree with you.
What would be awesome, is if Godzilla was walking off victorious and a MUTO attacked him out of nowhere and it was bigger than the last MUTOS he fought. It would be a nice twist.
How bout we go with the obvious, the reflection of red flares on wet, dark skin? If you watch, and I have many times, he doesn't "glow" until the flares get close. My take, is all, seemed pretty straight forward from my first viewing. Perhaps a little overdone with CGI, maybe?
Gosh, I've never taken the time to think about what the Godzilla and MUTO fight scene will be like. The MUTO is only around 20 meters shorter than Godzilla (referring to the toy pictures). if godzilla was chasing it, the MUTO is pretty fast then.
I recall another post on this forum (which I can't find) where someone linked the image of a bust of a supposed Godzilla before the trailer came out. There response from Legendary (or the director) was "that's not our Godzilla".
Does anyone know what or where that image is? Didn't it have a kind of alligator snout?
Guys, ultimately -- I don't know. I am just trying to figure out what best fits the disparate hints we've been given from different reviewers.
There seems to be a consensus about a huge surprise in the SF Halo shot, and it's almost certainly not a MUTO.
Please note that I'm not saying it's exactly another GODZILLA. I think it's more likely to be a Godzilla-type of kaiju.
In godzilla 2014 the game, godzilla 2014 is DLC?
