Gman2887 despite the fact we disagree on quite a lot, I always at least see the perspective you're coming from and try to look at those films in a different light the next time I watch them, however with this particular subject I just can't.
It's not just the fact that the stock footage is used it's the fact that none of it besides the parts with Minilla had any value to the story. Godzilla fought ebirah, Kumonga Kamacuras, The giant condor, and destroyed some jets, but what did that have to do with anything with the story. Did Ichiro learn anything during those fights? No. Did they further the story in any way? Not really. They just didn't need to be there. Also funny that they give Godzilla the attitude of Minilla needing to fight his own battles, but Godzilla essentially does to every other monster what Gabara does to Minilla. No correction he does more, as he kills, or cripples every monster he comes across in the movie. Sure he has reasons to do that in the original material but due to them cutting around any scene with Minilla as a baby, so Gabara is the only monster he interacts with it makes it appear as though Godzilla just walks up to those monsters and wrecks them. Why? Well why not it took up a good 20 minutes of the film so sure. Then to add icing to the cake after the whole "fight your own battles" Godzilla end up fighting Gabara at the end.
Then there's the ending which as I said. Good job to Godzilla for making the child go to the point of being a borderline delinquent himself as he apparently didn't honk the horn in the beginning of the movie when the bullies told him to not because he thought it was wrong, but because he as scared, so after all that and him not being scared anymore and beating up Gabara he goes and does it anyway, just because he can and runs off as the bullies cheer for him. Nice message movie, don't just stand up for yourself, join the crowd.
As I said it could have been a 30 minute afterschool special about standing up for yourself, cutting out the stockfootage, getting rid of the robbers annd changing the ending. No instead we got a 90 minute movie full of all of the above.
Whats wrong with his lower body? His toes, legs seem rather odd.
This is kind of a funny tidbit. Apparently the trailer that was screened was only slightly different from the international trailer we saw recently.
Hey, sweet find! A couple things, #1- Do you have a link to the Yahoo article? #2 - welcome to the site! and #3 - don't neglect spell check, it's a wonderful tool.
Wow, and I thought I was good. :|

Keep at it Godzilla Himself, you've go it! :)
Yeah! they finally finished the movie!
I searched some meaning of it in the internet and i found that M.U.T.O. in Latin means "Change" ,"Alter", "Modify, "Transform" and even "Mutate"...it was so interesting
heres the link : http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/muto
im not lying
the eyes only show up good with the last one with shadows
Nice to know. Hopefully this means we get to start seeing some more footage in the trailers.
Well, GMAN, I don't think we can agree on Godzilla's Revenge much, hehehe. I just don't buy that whole internal struggle/stand up to bullies point of the film.
SpaceGodzilla, again, I don't think its really that awful. If you want to talk about plotholes and poor characters, I think Hedorah and Megalon has tons more than Spacegodzilla. I will agree SpaceGodzilla as a design was pretty dull and uninteresting.
As for Megagurius and Mothra, I don't see anything so wrong with those films to be honest. I see them as fairly average Godzilla entries. Nothing spectacular or exceedingly poor about those flicks. Just forgettable standard entries, nothing more, nothing less.
I do agree Final Wars was a bit of a disappointment. The film was more interested in these dull human mutant soliders than Godzilla himself. And while there were some classic monster mash, it was all too brief.
Hedorah and Sons of Godzilla do have fans, but they also have many detractors, and I just don't appreciate it as much of some you here I guess.
That's all good, the world would be a boring place if there are no disagreements.
@GodzillaThe King123
I don't think anything in Godzilla's Revenge was lost in translation. I just think fans were too busy looking at the wrong things in this movie to see it. I'm only analyzing everything that Ishiro Honda was standing for during this time period and there's a pleathora of evidence to support it: Japan's depression. The fact Honda always said movies, "should be fun." The idea that he was starting to make more movies for/about kids...etc...
This is the director of the original Godzilla, afterall. He does everything with a sense of meaning and purpose, just like the original film. Godzilla's Revenge is no different in purpose, but it is a very different type. The dream sequences are nothing more than a visualizations of Ichiro's enternal struggles. Or eye candy.
Yes, Ichiro's stint into violence is a little jarring at the end. And yes there are technical failings, particularly with the stock footage, but fans like Dupr004 pretty much prove my point: People don't like Godzilla's Revenge because it wasn't really a Godzilla movie. There's a lot more going on with it and it has little to do with Godzilla.
Meanwhile, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla has more wrong with it than I can list. But lets attempt the impossible anyway:
The idea of controlling Godzilla? What a great idea. Too bad it goes nowhere and is completely forgotten by the middle of the movie.
Yuki wanting revenge on Godzilla for his brother's death? Interesting. Too bad he never develops believably to be compelling.
SpaceGodzilla? Lets confuse the audience by overexplaining his origin with two possibilities, make a suit/design that can barely move and incorporate it in the most boring battle in the series for a 40 minute stretch where the main characters casually converse inside MOGUERA like they're not in danger of being shot.
Shoehorn a cute Baby Godzilla and Fairy Mothra just to appeal to the child and female demograph as well? Check.
How should it end? Well lets recycle Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II's ending with the red Death Ray.
Mix that with the fact that Miki is given an elevated role that does nothing, (They build her up with Project-T, kidnapped her...etc... and for what? All she ended up doing was watch the battle. The Yuki rescue was the absolute worst payoff after all of that unnecessary drama.) a half-assed love story, (You can barely call it one.) and she received a thank you from the Cosmos for saving the world. Why? Godzilla and G-Force did all the work.
I should spend more time talking about how awful the astroid battle was, but, horrifyingly enough, that's actually one of the film's least concerns.
Godzilla's Revenge may have used an overabundance of stock footage, but everything in that stock footage was lightyears better than vs. SpaceGodzilla. Revenge had a consisant script and an endpoint where everything added up to develop Ichiro. Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, on the other hand, barely holds itself together to be called a movie.
As for the others, I can understand Godzilla vs. Megalon, but I think Godzilla vs. Hedorah and Son of Godzilla have too many fans to generalize those as series lows. I'd put Final Wars, vs. Megaguirus, Godzilla and Mothra: Battle for Earth and maybe Godzilla vs. Gigan beneath the stack before I considered those two. (Although, arguably, vs. Gigan has the same number of split fans.)
100% agree with you herro
working on the final product now!
U should really make some comics! I cant wait to see the final product! Keep p the exelent work!
I can't hate on Godzilla vs. Megalon or Godzilla's Revenge. I grew up with them. Like most of us, Godzilla vs. Megalon was my first Godzilla movie and got me hooked on him as a young boy. It's been 25+ years and still love it.
I absolutely loved all of those movies, especially godzillas revenge and hedorah
None of the movies listed in the topic are bad, in my opinion. :)
Now, my least favorite Godzilla film will probably be Godzilla:Final Wars. this movie was not an appropriate ending to the Toho Godzilla films. I understand why it has fans, bit I'm not one of them. I really don't like this movie. :/
That looks scary realistic O.O
Godzilla's Revenge, is it even a debate? I mean sure SpaceGodzilla had its problems and was by no means a great film, but at least it was a film. Godzilla's revenge was just stock footage jumbled on top of what is borderline a story. Essentially it's the trials the kid goes through then BOOM Godzilla stock footage. The film didn't need to be made. It could have been a 30 minute afterschool special, but a 90 minute film? God no.
Minilla talks, and grows whenever the stock footage is needed(i still remember the horror I felt when I saw him in final wars and knew a scene like that was coming again) Godzilla looks different in every other shot. If you go from Seamonster and Son of Godzilla into this movie you're basically rewatching a movie with a different title.
Everything that some1 could criticize space Godzilla for isn't even applicable to this movie. Oh space Godzilla had bad effect. This movie didn't even have it's own effects, it runs off about 90% of the effects from the last movies. Space Godzilla had a lot of plots that went nowhere. Oh and the robbers in Godzilla's Revene mattered? Sure you could argue it showed the growth and how the kid wasn't scared but he literally escaped the robbers then went and fought the bully. So did the robbers need to happen? No, and if so then there never needed to be a new confrontation with the bully. The kid then goes and squeeks a bike horn causing some1 to fall down and pour paint on themselves, so good messsage Godzilla and Minilla teach a kid to stand up for himself to the point he becomes obnoxious. Not even a close call for me this movie is hardly that and takes the cake for worst
@MIKEYNAMEZ,
The picture you posted didn't show up. Can you give us a link so we can see it?
I love the zillo beast episodes. Has any one else noticed that tv shows get higher ratings when episodes have giant monsters. Well I not sure if it's necessarily true, but it seems like it. Anyways...I love the zillo beast episodes.
Hi
We are jewelers who work on film and TV shows we didnt work on Godzilla but for Christmas my wife made me this ring It is not the modern Godzilla. Im hoping she will design that for my birthday https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152352125965579.1073741844.62000645578&type=3
You know Murph Dog, I was actually wondering the same thing. I missed Godzilla encounter at Comic-Con (well, I also missed Comic-Con) and I'm curious if that footage will appear in the movie only edited.
Now that is some badassness right there. The King is back.
1. Godzilla 1956 (wait...how can this be?! Relax, I'm only putting this at the top for nostalgia reason, as it was Raymond Burr who introdued me to the Godzilla series, so hats off to him).
2. Gojira 1954
3. Godzilla vs King Ghidorah 1991
4. Godzilla vs Destroyah 1995
5. Godzilla vs King Kong 1962
6. GMK 2001
7. Destroy all Monsters 1968
8. Godzilla vs Mechgodzilla 1974

10. Godzilla vs Biollante 1989 (just for the monster design-biollante was unique and interesting).
Hehehe. Sure, Jaws can be considered a monster, Edwards. Real great whites, as dangerous and deadly as they can be, don't sink fishing boats or have a vendetta against the Brody family (The Jaws Brody family that it is-speaking of which, did Edwards call the lead actor in Godzilla "Brody" as homage to Jaws?).
Nice, Hopefully the CG will look superb ;)
