So much Godzilla awesomeness... *eyes roll back, foams at mouth*
Good point GOJIRA19. Wolves and coyotes have something similar (though it's usually onsided, in the wolves favor). I'm gonna play devil's advocate and engage in some random, baseless speculation. There has been a lot of hubub about the number of monsters in the film, with 2 being the most often cited. Now, do the film makers mean two monsters period... or two types of monsters? Could be that while we have the two very simlar hocmuto and winged muto, could it be that there are many of them? They could make up for their lack of size and strength with numbers. A single bee sting isn't enough to kill a person (unless they are alergic of course) but killer bees can kill a fulll grown adult because they swarm their victum. It's the same thing with ants, locusts, and even pirahna. Small organisims can humble creatures far larger than themselves because they swarm. Maybe, just maybe, there will be a horde of mutos who swarm Godzilla. Who knows...
Although I must say I absolutely love the new shots! When I saw the empire design, I was a bit upset. Thankfully these new shots look nothing like it :)
Gareth, I admire the fact you're trying to keep our interests alive by releasing these small clips, but damn it man can't you just let us surpirise ourselves? This better be the last clip, because I'm pretty everyone here would like to be surprised at the theater rather than their own home.
i hope it will still be PG-13, and it says rating to be advised, not revised, plus it might be a commercial from a different country
Yup, it's official!!
The MUTO will be revealed on....May 16th.
Geez, everyone wants something for nothing.
Just hang in there for 6 more weeks;)
This is insane. We all knew Godzilla was big, but when you see his feet against the crowds in the airport... That's genuinely frightening. I am in awe of his size. Gareth Edwards, you have yet to disaapoint!
this is why i love tohokingdom, also why isn't there a tohokingdom hd copy of the international version of the main trailer
Maybe Muto is what they were trying to kill in '54 and Godzilla is what they awoken?
@diegoruiz
I've wondered this too as the SF bridge one seems to be a bit more nimble than some of the lumbering clips we've seen so far.
I reckon G's hand is in the SF battle at the end after the sky jump by Johnson. I haven't been able to login and comment for a bit so I don't know if these items have been speculated but here's some of my speculation..
- We're looking at 3 Muto's or 3 forms of one muto (Destroyer-esque). One that eats the subway, The centipede version and the final version (black and red)
- The final battle takes place in SF and Vegas is attacked by a Muto heading west. Almost all clips of big G have been at night. There's a lot of desert scenes w/ Cranston voice over, so I belive Nevada is where the muto project is centered.
- But, there's possibly one Muto in Japan too.
Anyway, this G flick is going to be bitchin'!!!
you should be kissing chris from tohokingdom, but i already recognize your name and you are a user there
@Durpoo4, An interesting point.
At an estimated 300,000 tons. I would guess the new Godzilla is a 10 Jaeger team drop.
I would say, God(zilla) help me, Zilla Jr.
There's just something about that iguana I really do love. Plus, he needs more love. His father-mother's reputation just, sadly, overshadows how good he really is.
I don't think we'll get a full body shot of the monster(s) till the movie comes out. Showing bits and pieces adds a lot of suspense, and makes you wonder what it is he's fighting. If I recall in G2000 trialers I never remember seeing Orga. It showed Millennian, but never Orga
This should of been an official trailer. We'll done, bravo bravo. That was full of emotion and the music was perfect ,bravo!
I've never seen the 98 movie, mainly because that was the year I was born (I know, I'm young). But I remember seeing part of act 3 on the SciFi channel, and I didn't really like it, I remember thinking "But Godzilla doesn't lay egss!" I've read reviews and know the basic plot of the movie, but not having seen it, I wont talk about Zilla. Lately I have been watching Zilla Jr. on Netflix, and so far its okay. He reminds me a lot of a puppy (I'm on episode 3).
Long story short, I don't know much about Zilla, or Zilla Jr., but I respect them both, I know it brought a lot of people into the fanbase of the original. He is a great kaiju in himself, but not when comparing him to the original.
So to sum up, I respect him as a Zilla, not a Godzilla.
Oh instinctive i could just kiss you.
Judging by the look I'd go with a thick hide, with above average regeneration, but nothing along the lines of regenerator g1 with wounds being completely healed within hours.
I believe that the M.U.T.O. creatures will be revealed in either the second to last or final week before the movie's release.
A last minute, final hype and euphoria inducing image of a brand new creature willl definitly entice new and old viewers alike.
I would think that has more to do with something happening in the movie itself, rather than the movie's rating.
Very well done opening. I'll be sure to check back once the reviews start.
Very cool!
I believe DopePope is really on to something with what he said. In fact, now that I really think about it, these creatures do have some resemblance to other kaiju (possible because of how they were created by their designers).
@Akagi- I respect your thoughts, but I don't think it is neseccary to shoot down things like this simply because of a few hunks of plastic don't support it. In fact, that is quite ludicrous.
Whatever it is the military is guarding in that scene...I think it's part of the MUTO that is buried and that is the hand/foot we got in the official trailer that slams down on the ground. Looks like they're still uncovering it/in the process of taking dirt/debris off it!
Amazing just amazing man nice work
I think not. The Legendary Pictures folks want realism in this movie/Godzilla design. Very powerful armor is possible, but regeneration (at least at the level typically portrayed) isn't very possible. Besides, this Godzilla feels like a more powerful form of the 1954 version which also favored tough hide vs regeneration.
That is some gigantic foot! Still, it's elaphantine form is going to take a little getting used to. But I can't help but envision the teaser from G98 when Zilla's foot stomps on the T-Rex skeleton, and then this new Godzilla's foot stepping on Zilla's foot, flattening it. That would be great.
cool man! i made one myslef just waiting for it to be approved b the admins :D i subbed to you
That was Awesome with a captial A! Godzilla is back!
Are there HD quality versions of the 4th, 5th, and 6th?
These vids just made my entire school day! :'D
I've learned to forgive Emmerich and the '98 remake, especially since the new Godzilla movie will be out in just a little. I have more respect for Zilla Jr. from the animated series more then I do Zilla from the 1998 version, but regardless, I forgive Emmerich.
I placed my pre-order in for Sea Monster, Hedorah, Gigan, and all the Sony Double Features. I'm debating on whether I should get KK vs G, KK Escapes, the Destroy All Monsters Blu Ray, the Megalon Blu Ray, the Gamera Blu Rays, King Kong '05 Steelbox, Zilla The Series and the Sci-Fi 4 Set with Mothra or not, and since I have the Criterion Collection Blu Ray release of Godzilla '54, I don't think I'll be picking that up anytime soon.
Make sure the HD button is highlighted for the best quality! ;)
