I want it and I want it now!
IF you think the sketch is better, then there's something wrong..your sketch is pretty good, but i think your colouring method is not right..your line art is too bold adn lots of blocky black spots..but overall i think it's quite nice
Many of the shots we've had are only glimpses at whatever Godzilla's doing. I think a lot of the poor ones are simply just lighting from whatever scenario is going on.
Nice! Can't wait to see it painted.
He may have said that but it looks great in 3D as well.
@GodzillaFan1995
I mentioned Shindo, but you're right Yoshio Tsuchiya is a spectacular actor. He's been in a great deal of different movies.
And there are some decent characters post-91 and others I missed in Showa, but I feel like the list above are the standouts. Atleast to me.
Gareth said the movie was intended to be seen in 2D, and I trust him on that. I definitely want to see it on a big screen, though!
@gman2887, i really agree with everything you said, for GvsKG91 you forgot to mention the guy who played Shindo, and i like how you skipped the post 91 heisei movies and GxMegagirus

After watching C.A. The Winter Soldier a movie that's 2hrs. and 8 minutes in length there's plenty that can be accomplished in that time span. 2hrs. of actual film footage is plenty of time in my opinion. But I wouldn't be mad if they decide to give us more.
OMG Just take my money already. Legendary, WB, Toho, Gareth just go ahead and I'll buy several advanced tickets to the Big G's debut. I'll see it at the first midnight screening and I'll go with at least several friends over the theatrical run. My wallet will be aching but seeing this extended trailer makes it feel less of the pain.
Awesome. Just simply Awesome.
I think godzilla did not destroy the nuclear powerplant, here's why:
screenshot number four show the graph he is looking at and if you look at screenshot number seventeen the graph in the background that says muto one and muto two the graphs are identical.
Hardly an odd question at all. As I've grown older I've actually paid more attention to the characters and end up caring about them more than the monsters in some cases. Most of the 50s and 60s movies I tend to care about the characters the most.
Godzilla (1954) - The whole damn cast. The love triangle. Ogata's typically run-of-the-mill job thrown into a conflict with Godzilla. Serizawa's enternal struggle. Dr. Yamane's charisma. The first movie is really more about the cast than it is Godzilla.
Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster - Detective Shindo is one determined guy. His informal struggle with Malness and his stubborn attempt to defend Princess Salano at all costs-- not to mention Salano is one of the more interesting characters, being a decendant of the Venusians. Even while the battle between Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah is going on both Shindo and Malness are still at each other's throats for the Princess.
Monster Zero - Probably my favorite cast of characters. Glenn is a badass and I love his bromance with Fuji. Namikawa is an overrated female character, but iconic in her own right. And Tetsuo is the most underrated hero of the story. Maybe the most underrated hero of the series. Need I mention the awesome Xillien leader?
Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster - A fugitive who has been coaxed into sailing with a bunch of kids and finds an island girl to face the odds of a secret, terrorist organization? How is this not interesting? You almost don't need Godzilla.
Godzilla's Revenge - Sorry guys. Ichiro is still one of the best developed characters of the series. Like it or hate it.
Godizlla vs. MechaGodzilla - The characters actually aren't that well developed, but damn they're fun to watch. Nanbara's mysterious character and eventual reveal as an Interpol Agent is the most entertaining.
Terror of MechaGodzilla - Amen to these. Ichinose goes through quite the tragic journey. He works so hard to follow up and legitimize Dr. Mafune who has long since been lost to madness. And then he falls in love with Mafune's daughter in a telescoped love story that ends in tragedy. Katsura's enslavment is beautifully mirrored by Titanosaurus's. This was a great cast to end the series with.
Godzilla vs. Biollante - Actually this movie suffers from having too many characters, but I think Shiragami is one of the more interesting characters in the series. He's not mad, just desperate and he admits to the pitfall he sinks into. The rest of the characters work well in tantum, but aren't as interesting as the Showa lot.
Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah - As flawed as this movie is, props to Shindo and Teresawa-- two very different characters in a fairly different Godzilla movie. I admire Teresawa's character for being the series' most motivated reporter. Even as he's let down by the future sales of his book he realizes he may have gotten Godzilla's origin wrong and fact-checks himself. And Shindo shares a mirroring history with Godzilla that leads to one of the series' most powerful interactions between man and monster. The rest are pretty much fluff...
Godzilla 2000 - As inconsistant as they are the characters move the story along at a better pace than Godzilla himself. Shindo isn't the most interesting character on his own, but couple his backstory with Katagiri and there's an fun David vs. Goliath juxtaposition.
GMK - I love the feel of everyone here. It's like they're written as 1980s horror characters from a John Carpenter movie. Most of them serve to be scared fodder, but it works in contrast with General Tachibana's stanch, old-fashion nature. His relationship with his daughter, Yuri, rings as something much more relatable than most characters in the series. And her development as a human who respects her father's era is a worthy cultural study of Japan's current struggles with its past.
The Kiryu Saga - Like a friend somewhere else said, I kind of like the idea of the characters more than the characters themselves here. But they keep the story moving along enough to give a damn about them. Akani is a little too hamfisted with her anime-esque loneliness and internal struggles, but then Mazaki Tezuka isn't the strongest director either.
Godzilla: Final Wars - As much of a mess as this movie is you can't tell me Mazaki, Captain Gordon and the Xillien Leader don't nearly steal the show. They're all absolutely trite, but they're fun trite.
Tastes change over time. I've found myself enjoying the characters over the monsters in some of these movies. Like Monster Zero. The reason that's one of my favorites is particularly because of the cast.
i saw the movie op, theres actually 4 godzillas in this movie, they get nuked however and turn into the mutos through obviouslt mutation, the last godzilla has a special agent in its blood that doesnt make it morph like the other godzillas, and the 'mutos' aka godzillas attack this one because theyre jealous he didnt transform
not sure if op is serious or just an absolute moron
Excellent post. Thanks for the information. Keep updating us with further infomation. Featured.
YES, exactly the kind of rating I wanted it to be.
Doesnt any body think of JAWS when they hear the charachters last name BRODY?
Chief Brody.
I hope audiences and critics wont mind that.

dudes, i dont know about you guys, but i offically jizzed in my pants. 1st off, this is by far the best trailer/ tv spot yet. i was hoping you guys got the screen shot of the muto face at about 2m16s in, which you did, great job. there also appears to be only 2 mutos. theres a scene that shows the officer from the halo jump scene peering over his shoulder and you can see on the panel hes looking, muto1 and muto 2. (17th pic from the top) this is becoming very interesting. in the suquel i would love for him to kick the shit out of cloverfeild and then finally gamera, and then he gets his revenge on king kong. but as for this movie, it has all the workings of a master peice because of how well they are keeping us in suspence, they are showing us bassically the same scenes over and over with a little bit of extra spice and i believe thats y i think they arent blowing their load too fast, the story sounds great, the acting from BC is incredibley compelling. and ill kill 2 birds with one stone. BC opened the 1st trailer with the, your hiding something dialogue, in the last trailer, the dialogue is seperate and he says, and i have a right to know after instead. thats what i mean by same scenes, but more so BC made you feel the frustration and anger, brilliantly done. i can not wait!
You two up there ^^ are related haha jk but hey nice answer thats what i thought too
Godzilla's got a 6 peck haha
Generally, yeah I agree people shouldn't judge effects shots shown a long time prior to release. But Gareth Edwards himself about 2 weeks ago said that he was done editing the film. So yeah, these are most likely final looks that we are seeing in the TV Spots and this most recent trailer.
Nobody (in this thread anyway) is trying to say that Godzilla and Pacific Rim are similar films. Just talking about effects only. And effects wise, I think the only way to call Godzilla's 'top notch' is if you're looking at this thing with rose-colored glasses.
That doesn't mean we are judging the film harshly or have a negative attitude about it. I think we're all still stoked for the film. The story, tone, and cast all look fantastic.
Finally, the OP specifically ASKED us for our opinions about the effects. So telling people to shut up if they aren't giving 100% gushy compliment laden endorsements is a little ridiculous.
well there are some sparks that happen as well so it could be some sort of breath attack
That's really good!
When's the final drawing gonna be posted?
i seriously doubt it was a nuclear warhead going off. If it did, there would be nothing left of those soldiers and about half that mountain would be toast.
It does sound great.
Amazing. So well drawn.
Thanks!!! :D Also Godzilla Himself nice name! XD
i just thought of something Godzilla could Kill the 8 legged Muto and then it is Godzilla VS Flying Muto and that how we get a no Sequel
Wow, well done, man! :D I REALLY like the sketch version at the top! Very well drawn! :)
So no screenshots can someone tell me how to see it on the Godzilla website because i'am on my mom's widows 8 computer an the link is not working on this computer
