MemberMothra LarvaeApr-05-2014 6:50 PMI think it's entirerly possible that the white mist that you see in the extended trailer is the muto's breath attack mabye it's some kind of mist that kills smaller victims but parlyzes larger thing like when godzilla was'nt moving in that shot of him fighting the winged muto
I don't know what to put here

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-05-2014 6:57 PMThe only known MUTO attack is an EMP. I don't think there'll be a breath attack.
And what's suggesting that Godzilla wasn't moving in that shot? That shot we had of Godzilla I believe was literally less then a second long.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-05-2014 7:21 PMIt would be cool, but it is probably is just dust or mist. It would still be cool, but I would prefer a energy breath weapon.

MemberBaragonApr-05-2014 7:35 PMMost Kaiju/ enemies that Godzilla fought, did have some sort of "special weapon" like energy breath or lazer. So it is quite likely MUTO will have it as well. It could be the EMP, or something else...

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-05-2014 8:07 PMIm pretty sure that Gareth might wanted to make us fans more happy by giving them some special power coming out of their mouth just like almost every Toho monster.
But its likely they wont shoot anything too but i dont even care, it is kind of less realistic if not done right.
And also that shot of Godzilla right below the halo jumpers, of course it didnt look like Godzilla moving you know lol just like Godzillasaurus Rex said, it was totally less than a second so we cant tell yet if he was moving or not.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-05-2014 8:31 PMI'm thinking it is a weapon. We saw a cloud at the power plant. Then we saw another cloud at the railroad tunnel, which knocked out the flashlights on the soldiers guns. Could be some kind of gas attack, as Lopsquid suggested. As a defense, many species of millipedes release small clouds of hydrogen cyanide.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-05-2014 8:36 PMDoes anyone here realize how much smoke is being used in the movie?? Or should I also say fogs and clouds?? Looks amazing btw but do you guys think its from the mutos or this movie just like smokes and fogs?

Moses
MemberMothra LarvaeApr-05-2014 8:41 PMThe cloud in the Janjira Power Plant was probably the nuclear radiation.
The railroad cloud I didn't notice but I'm going to assume it's from wreckage or a fire.
And if Godzilla was paralyzed, wouldn't he have been lying down?

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-05-2014 8:56 PM@Godzillasaurus rex no you can be paralyzed but still be standing you would just be frozen in place

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-06-2014 4:15 AMI found something on wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_meltdown here is a little extract from the article talking about a 'breach' (just like bryans characters wife said in the extended look trailer) "There are several possibilities as to how the primary pressure boundary could be breached by corium.
- Steam Explosion
As previously described, FCI could lead to an overpressure event leading to RPV fail, and thus, primary pressure boundary fail. Haskin, et al. report that in the event of a steam explosion, failure of the lower plenum is far more likely than ejection of the upper plenum in the alpha-mode. In the event of lower plenum failure, debris at varied temperatures can be expected to be projected into the cavity below the core. The containment may be subject to overpressure, though this is not likely to fail the containment. The alpha-mode failure will lead to the consequences previously discussed."
I'm pretty sure thats what the steam was in the trailer.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-06-2014 6:30 AMI think (or I hope rather) that most people realize that the cloud in the nuclear power plant is steam or some other gas related to the malfunction....NOT a biological gas emitted by the MUTO.
The gas I think the OP is talking about, is the gas that comes out of the tunnel and appears to damage the soldier's guns. I'm not sure what that is tbh.
It might be a cloud of dust/debris that is violently kicked out or displaced as something is destroyed/attack from inside the tunnel maybe?
One of the many mysteries still remaining for May 16th, in spite of all the footage we've been shown :-) Take that Spiderman-3!!! I feel like I've seen that movie already

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-06-2014 6:36 AMI wondered the same thing because the soldiers guns react to the mist when it hits them. However if we piece all the footage of that scene together I think it's more likely to be a nucleur warhead going off in the tunnel. I've seen a shot of a train loaded with warheads and a shot of a burning train heading towards them so, yeah, that's how I've come to that conclusion. How the train reaches it's fireball state tho...that's another question altogether.

Barudarrowi
MemberMothra LarvaeApr-06-2014 10:35 AMi seriously doubt it was a nuclear warhead going off. If it did, there would be nothing left of those soldiers and about half that mountain would be toast.

dinoboy22
MemberMothra LarvaeApr-06-2014 10:40 AMwell there are some sparks that happen as well so it could be some sort of breath attack

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-07-2014 10:18 AMActually GODZILLASAURUS, there are no Muto attacks confirmed, period.
The EMP is only a theory, and it has not been confirmed in any way by any credible sources with links to Legendary.
As far as the mist, it's San Francisco. Ask anyone who lives there and they'll tell you that mist is a very, very common occourence because it's right on the water. There's nothing special about the mists at all. It's just San Fran.
