@Madison-Gfan182- You two have definitly given me a sigh of relief. I'm glad people are up and ready to give the Big G(uy) a chance. I'm gonna start doing that. See if I can "convert" a few people.
not popular where i am either
edit: although my friends who are non-fans absolutely love the halo-jump scene in the first trailer. that's what made them go "cool". THey are hyped for it, but again other than that not popular
Yeah I'm the only Godzilla fan that I'm aware of where I live. That's part of what makes this forum so awesome. Finally a place where I can actually talk about Godzilla and people know what I'm saying :-)
Most around here think he's cheesy and stupid.
A few are open to the idea of seeing this new movie though. I've told dozens of people about it coming out, showed many the trailer, and they seem willing to give it a shot at least.
Not very popular in my area either. I don't really talk to a lot of people and they didn't know that there was a new movie coming out till I showed them the trailers. They seem pretty hyped for the movie though
@Sicoepath-ZillaHater-DinoBoy22- Ah, now that's depressing news. I'm sorry to hear that. :(
not popular in my area either. theres only one other person besides me who like godzilla
(Denmark) Godzilla? Who is Godzilla? Is he like an Avenger, or somethin`.
Not. Popular. At all.
@ratedrex
I agree with you on the fact that some Godzilla movie wouldn't necessarily be classified as "Instant classics." But Toho has admitted that they were meant for a family audience (meaning it was aimed for kids). Also because of the more family audience and people finding it cheesy, the budget went down, as did the quality, putting it in a bad cycle. That's why Toho took a break from Godzilla until '85, they new they weren't making high quality movies that some (like yourself) would consider good.
I respect Toho and their opinions on what Godzilla should be like, especially since they learned from the past and started making some pretty good movies from '85 on.
I don't think I've found an article that says Toho loves every movie they've made, so it can be assumed that they learned from their mistakes and making them better. Like the '98 Zilla, the creators knew they could've done a lot better and have admitted it.
So I'd say if Toho liked it, then it must have it's perks, but ultimately, it's up to each individual whether the movie is good or not. Critics are only paid to state opinions, and that does not make them fact. I've read reviews that said '98 Zilla was a great movie, I personally didn't like it.
So everyone has their own opinion, I respect everyone's here, though I may not agree, as should everyone else. Nothing wrong with stating an opinion, but when some people start to use insults and degrade others because they do not agree, that is the issue.
I always enjoy hearing others' points of views, because I feel I get a better understanding of the wrold around me.
alot better than i expected
my game would be like the other games except mine would have:
more powerups
monsters from ultraman and gamera and scrapped godzilla monsters
more military
aliens from all the godzilla movies
and special moves
more special moves
explosions!!!!
different skin for each character
in a dlc the pacific rim universe
Haha! Looks like your thread helped a little.
Godzilla is #1 on ComingSoon.net's poll now, with 40% of the 7500 ish votes.
X-Men has slid to #2, with 37% of the vote.
Granted, I objectively know that both X-Men and Spiderman are more anticipated, and will make more money. However, Godzilla is holding it's own in the anticipation department; way more so than I would have earlier anticipated. It should be a much more close box office competition than I originally gave it credit for.
@DEVIANTEIST
See how the 2014 Godzilla doesn't stick out like a soar thumb, that is an indication that they did a good job with the design.
@KingKaijuGojira- If you've got a DeviantART page, smack those links down. If not, post it up. I have a need to see.
^Madison knows where the money's at. Please, give Madison a round of applause. No sarscasm intended.
I can't find any confirmation on this either. The fact that there are no sources cited on Wikipedia for it is a big red flag.
If true, though, it's a great selection of movies for younger audiences. With the exception of Godzilla vs. Hedorah it's practically a Jun Fukuda marathon and he's been underrated by the fanbase for far too long.
I think a new brawler/fighting type game would likely be the best seller. If I were to design my own, the biggest thing I would focus on would be doing more to give each monster it's own personality/fighting style.
Something like Soul Caliber or Mortal Kombat where (almost) every character has a distinct style of play.
A lot of the Godzilla fighters out right now; the monsters almost feel like clones of each other with how many similar moves they share. So yeah, I would focus on diveristy and balance amongst the monsters if I were to make my own brawler.
However, departing from anything even remotely realistic, HOW AWESOME would it be to have a Godzilla STRATEGY GAME with RTS/RPG combat element :-) :-) :-)
You have a campaign map of earth, and a single starting monster in a starting region. From there, you level up your monster, gaining experience conquering nearby regions, defeating military or alien craft.
Each region would have a capital/beacon that you have to win a boss fight to conquer, usually against another monster or mech. As you conquer beacons you can choose to either kill the monster you defeated to capture your beacon, or add him to your army.
Strategy elements on the campaign map could focus things like territory managment, not spreading yourself too thin, building up static defenses, engaging in diplomacy with alliances, espionage, even 'hiring' monsters of uncaptured beacons like temporary mercenaries.
The highlight though would be the monster boss fights themselves, which would play out like any well designed RPG, up close, in real time, using those experience points earned during the strategy portions to unlock increasingly devastating attacks.
Game could start with 5 playable monsters, with more unlockable (15-20ish total) as you complete single player campaigns at higher difficulty levels or rack up certain achievements.
Of course a multiplayer would be present, with the ability for 'quick match' duels or a campaign map mode for those with the time to commit to such an epic adventure :-)
PEMF: Post-Evolutionary Mega-Fauna
Classes: Immortal, Deity, God, Kaiju
Categories: Leviathan, Behemoth, Zizz
Body Plan: Guirun, Jiran, Rodin, etc.
First Wave
Humanity awakens unknown PEMFs from their slumber in a gigantic ancient machine complex, causing them to rampage across the globe. Their soul matrices provide them the ability to grow to incredible sizes, have limitless energy, and protection from incredulous amounts of damage, all of which are present in documented PEMFs such as Godzilla. After only a few have managed to be slain, their bodies were analyzed, and a mechanical equivalent possessing a humanoid structure and soul matrix catalyzed by a willing Human's soul/conscience was conceived, known as the Warmonger. Since they had all the same soul-based abilities as the unknown PEMFs, they were able to use equppied conventional weaponry and their own hand-to-hand combat tactics to subdue the creatures, eventually winning out in the end.
Aftermath
Warmongers are used in the follow-up nuclear war sapnning the entire globe, resulting in several decades of never-ending conflict and the mutation of documenteed PEMFs such as Godzilla into titanic entities several hundred meters high, averaging around 600-1000. Eventually, world governments agreed to halt the Warmonger program and decommission them. Except for Japan, who was allowed to maintain one at a time due to the high losses they suffered during the first wave.
Second Wave
Fast forward several more years, and society has rebuilt itself, but an uprising of anti-soul-matrix supporters has occured around the globe, followed by a second emergence of the unknown PEMFs. Governments soon scramble to contain them, eventually having to resort to reviving the Warmonger program. However, due to the time between the creation of the Warmongers and the current age, the technologies for building them have all but been lost, requiring the revival of any stored models still functioning. Except for Japan, which has maintained and updated the technology for centuries, thus leaving the country exceptionally well-defended with its modern Warmonger model.
The Big Question
So, the question remaining is this: what exactly is the deal with these unknown PEMFs? Most would conclude them as simple biological super-weapons intent on world destruction. However, that may not be the case. Studies show that the machine complex they were awoken from predates even the very first life on planet Earth known to have existed. As well, these particular PEMFs are composed of human souls, meaning their genetic make-up is entirely human. Additionally, their genetics have shown the capacity to produce life on their own, though this capacity hasn't been observed outside of lab experiments. Recent studies have shown that the genetic and mental structure of the creatures is at a stage comparable to an early-stage fetus, thus meaning the creatures seen are less than infants at their current state. Therefore, the question remains: what exactly is their purpose?
That is so awesome.
I love this!! And when you see the new Godzilla with all the others, you can see he belongs.
I would create a 3rd person shooter, all the monster would have their special abilities and their guns(godzillas atomic breath, anguiruis roar) And so on...
That was creepy...and somewhat boring...
lol, I just caught that the Hanna Barbara Godzilla is using his eye lazers. I totally forgot that they gave G that ability.
That is a beautiful thing!
godzillas revenge was not listed but son of godzilla was
If theyare showing Godzilla movies then they will need to choose all child friendly ones, like son if Godzilla and *shudders* Godzilla's revenge
Well to me I would like it to be a both story mode like regular sidescroller game and unlocked levels and face bosses battle. We already had fighting godzilla game like Destroy all monsters, Godzilla:Save The Earth and Godzilla Unleashed. We need a game close to Infamous or (I don't mean it literaly) Like the Creepypasta Nes style.
It would be like the previous Godzilla games only with more power ups and transformations. The Vortaak would return again for the 4th time. It would have all the monsters including Burning Godzilla, Monster X, Keizer Ghidorah and Muto. Some of the monsters would have customizable skins and beam colors. So Godzilla would have all his skins from the movies and the Atomic Breath can be blue, orange and spiral red.
I don really care what top Godzilla is as long as its over top 10 happy.
Murph Dog I know how you feel. Sometimes on this site in school and some of the images or gifs are blocked. It really annoys me.
Well, Cartoon Network is really stepping it up with these classics. They'll probably be promoting Godzilla 2014 as well. This is going to be good.
Is the marvel Goji under the hanna barbera Goji?
I have 11 chapters plus a prologue of a fan-fiction I'm writing called Godzilla: War for Earth. It's basicly about Godzilla the 3rd and his allies preparing to defend the Earth from a prophecy which states that the 3 planet killers Monster X, King Ghidorah and Desghidorah will unite with other space monsters and Earth mutations in an attempt to destroy Earth and one of them will transform into Keizer Ghidorah, a beast of unimaginable strength. You all know who becomes Keizer Ghidorah, but my friends don't which is why I'm writing it. My friends aren't big Godzilla fans, but I'm trying to get them more interested. One friend is really into Godzilla now. The other hasn't changed. He still respects Godzilla though. But both of them want to see the new movie. My writing style consists of references to things me and my friends like or would other stand (Portal, Alien, Family Guy, Monty Python) and comments about certain things to help explain since they aren't big Godzilla fans and haven't seen many Godzilla movies. If anybody wants me too, I can post a few chapters or parts of a chapter to see if people want to read it. I've been working on it since late 2013. I'm working of ch 12 now and have decided to take a bit of a break.
who else spotted marvel goji?
