I'm not trying to say it doesn't fit the tone of the movie.
I'm trying to say it doesn't fit the 1 minute clip playing on the website.
I know thhe two don't have to be identical, and maybe I've gotten spoiled by John Williams and Hans Zimmer, but all of their various songs n' themes within a movie will have noticeable similarities even though the songs themselves are of course different.
This new Fandango clip, and what they are playing on the official movie website, lack such similarity with each other. Each one would make a great addition to any dark movie score. But they just don't sound like they are from the same movie score as far as I'm hearing it.
Nothing's been confirmed. AMC theater's is saying the film is 2 hours and 3 minutes. And the 2 hour and 15 minute thing from twitter only mentions the time slots Godzilla fits in. It doesn't account for trailers before the film and theater clean-up after the movie. If anyone wishes to talk about this further you can do it here:

how many times does this have to be posted?
TOPIC CLOSED :P
ALSO TO JUDGE BARGGINS HE DID :)
@Junkerde
Knowing the tone of the movie is different from scoring the individual scenes. Jaws was a fairly horrific movie itself, but Williams' score was the epitome of energetic until Star Wars. Funny as Godzilla has also been compared to Jaws by the creators as well, no?
And no, from the three different versions of Ifukube's original score I currently own I can honestly say it was not dark "throughout". I'll repeat, "Godzilla didn't have "dark" "grim" music all the way through." Unless, of course, you consider these tracks to be dark, brooding lacking energy:
And two of those themes reprise with variation more than most. You might be able to make a case for "dark" and "brooding" for Stormy Ootojima Island, but it still spirals into a piece no less energetic than the supposed Desplat piece that's been posted.
I also didn't say there was anything wrong with not liking it, last time I checked I wasn't bashing anyone for it either. However, I don't understand how fans can say it "doesn't fit" when they have no idea what the scene in question is and what kind of music it calls for.
Regardless, I'm going to call a spade a spade and a heart a heart. The music on its own is extremely well composed and well realized to my ears. Whether it fits or not has yet to be seen, but I'd trust Desplat's judgment over anyone on this forum.
Of course there's always the chance it isn't Desplat's work, in which case it's a solid piece unrelated to the franchise.
well the reason why junkerde post that is because this topic serves no purpose. ok 28 days tecchinally 29 if you include zilla, godzilla films. and he post get wachin. no real information about anything. if he posted something like hey theirs 28 days know till the realese of godzilla. and theirs 28 toho godzilla films we all could try to watch them all to the day of the 16th, and see if we could do it, but otherwise it was a pointless post. im not trying to be rude. i say welcome to this new guy, and try to remind him to put some detail in his post that serve a purpose.
All a review is is an opinion. That being said, it won't be long now, thats all I know.
At the start, I thought it would have been a bit interesting if Godzilla brought some religious themes to the table like the comic con teaser where there was mention of Vishnu and such. It would be cool if, at the very least it was hinted that Godzilla was a manifestation of some God of destruction, appearing that way to a variety of different religions as whatever fit in their lore. Symbolic of course, not something that would be flat out revealed. I guess it's all about interpretations in the end. People will see what they want to see in this.
For some reason I cant keep up with a unique style.
Who cares the movie run time has finally been confirmed. Hell yeah
@Godzilla 2014 Himself, why did you not bring this up in your own thread?
@Daikaiju_Danielle:
Skreeonk pardoned, and echoed by yours truly! :)

See that 2:15 there is your proof
You know, I can actually sorta imagine this taking place in the airport scene. It could play over the shots of the Muto destroying planes and killing people. Then the final portion can play over that one shot of the chain reaction explosions before the track ends right when Godzilla's foot comes into view.
very cool. Pretty diffeent style, but I like it.
This is cool, I'm very impressed. It. No small feat of work to do something like this.
Wow! Big G looks absolutely incredible!
Yep, this has been posted, and I source would be nice, as the numbers are different.
Pardon my skreeonk, but HELL YEAH!
This is a complete waste of time. Request for lock.
How about you both post a source, hm? Right now, I believe neither one of you.
@Junkerde - Why are you always saying things like this? You're saying to close threads all the time, and whenever you are comenting on something it always seems negative. I'm not tying to be rude, but I find it somewhat rude (lol) that you are always saying things like this. This is the first of this topic, and this is Z's first post. The mods will do their job, there is no reason fo comments such as these.
Also, welcome ZebidiahJeThro!
For one this is a repeat post and two the movie is 2 hours 15 minutes not 2 hours 3 minutes
Sad that this will happen when Jurassic World gets more popular...
For his species, he's quite old, having hibernated for a LONG time. However, growth-wise, he had a major "growth spurt" in 1954, and, technically speaking, he'd have almost unlimited gorwing potential provided nuclear radiation is present to absorb. So, theoretically, he's never truly "fully grown", since there was no limit to begin with. Though, his age would suggest he is a seasoned adult, and being the seemingly last survivor of his species would suggest he's an alpha male of some sort.
For me, it is amazing. I don't know why but nearly in the beggining, it sounds like the Jurassic Park theme song. Just my opinion.
@TW_G-Fan2014 How can we be sure this version doesn't have a family? If the resemblance to past Godzillas remains steady, than it stands to reason that the species make for very protective and nurturing parents. So, thus, if this Godzilla could stand any chance of having grown to be such an impressive individual, it must've had a successful rearing as a juvenile. And by the looks of how long he's been around, I'd say it's fair to say that he had his own little clan started up for a while, until something happened to them.
damn that's awesome! i'm loving the style!
The ressemblance is uncanny
