"As you might can see. Godzilla is taking place in france"
I'm guessing no one's noticed this snip of info? We already know for fact it is not taking place in France. Also, judging from some things I've seen on Toho Kingdom, Snowden hasn't been a reliable source of info lately.
Either way, a great image. Bogus info.
EDIT: Just noticed Snowden only has one post. Welcome to forums. Sorry for the distrust. I "lurk" a lot.
Lol more to scale :P I wish he was that big that big.. from the trailers he doesn't really look 350 feet.. hopefully in the movie when we have more time to take it in he looks bigger
If the horrific Godzilla 1998 could do $380 million worldwide (considering inflation it would be equavalent to $550 million in 2014), then a well-reviewed Godzilla 2014 could do $800-$1 billion dollars, worldwide. You guys are right, there is starting to be a little superhero fatique. I can pretty much tell you how Spiderman is going to play without ever seeing the movie. The key to Godzilla doing great is it has to get good reviews, otherwise a percentage of movie-goers will being to associate the 1998 bomb with this one.
I'm treating thirty of my friends to Godzilla IMAX 3D on opening day.
That is awesome!
YEAH! Godzilla going to the top! hate to say it but I was right, and hopefully my statement keeps goin to the box office? Godzilla will do geat, and now that word is getting out that the critics dident like AS2! that puts godzilla in the driver seat baby! x-men will fall just like AS2 watc! I bet godzilla will take over May! Let's wait and see :)
Spiderman is going to take May easily becauses its a sequal. However, once people see it and word of mouth spreads it will die out fast. I saw the movie a few weeks back and its awful (Yes, i love superhero movies too). They are trying to make a universe like Marvel but it feels forced which makes the entire movie suffer. Generally people are sick of Xmen and with Singer's scandel it will be last. Godzilla will sell more in the long term than both, im confident in that.
Bryan Singer is in the middle of a disturbing sex scandal which will affect x-men to some degree but it's a given that for the past few years comic book films bring in huge audiences. Still the buzz for Godzilla is HUGE, a movie which months ago critics predicted would fail because they believe Godzilla doesnt have a big selling factor. My co-workers see my Godzilla tattoo so they come up to me and talk about the trailers and how they NEED to see this film on a big Imax.
Duratok your a life saver. Whenever I do that it gives me a blank 1x1 square. So I am forever in your debt
Wounder if Chris would post this on the main news?
The showa series was a great time for Mothra, she looked great and the sfx for her were more fluid and convincing than even 90s-2000s. Even her brief appearance in Sea Monster was great. She just flies over to Godzilla, bitch slaps him over and thats the fight.
Hesei she looked awful and they tried to compensate her for a more powerful Godzilla by giving her lazer beam powers and lightning powers. AWFUL. The solo films , can't sit through them and its a shame that King Ghidorah in the third film ended up being my favorite version of him, he deserved a fight with Godzilla, not Mothra!
The 2000s were meh, I could careless. Actually she was kinda badass in Final Wars.
Thanks for the comments and the dude who posted the pics.
What I loved best about Return over 85 was the deeper discussions of Japan's response to Godzilla's return. They looked at it from so many different angles, made stronger points, made it feel more realistic and that more was at stake. I also hate the way the scenes were edited in 85 and I got pulled out of the momentum every time a useless additional scene was forced in to sell Dr Pepper. The change in the Russian missle scene was completely tasteless. The only thing I prefer about 85 is the ending Burr speech, it was so much apart of my childhood that finally seeing the original cut without it made the ending feel rushed and anti-climactic. 1985 was a great but flawed film and the original cut is in my top three G films with the original 1954 and Biollante.
Unlike many of you I love super hero movies (I went to Cap2 3 times) but I have to admit, ASM2 and XMen both look like they are going to be train wrecks. They both feel like they are trying to do to much with a single movie (How many villains do you need!?) I'm not even sure I will see ASM2 in theaters. I will probably see XMen, but I don't expect much (Again, too many characters = lack of focus). As for the big guy, I already have tickets for 3 different showings (10pm Thursday, 10pm Friday, and 10pm Saturday). I'm just one person, but I know I'm doing my part.
Godzilla 1985 is the earliest Godzilla film that I can remember. My parents bought me all sorts of Godzilla stuff, but 1985 mercifully beat out "vs. the Sea Monster" for early impression.
It's hard for me to pick 1985 over the original because of some very glaring things, but overall I think it's more polished. That may just be my American sensibilities combined with nostalgia. Honestly, it may just be that the intro credits for 1985 are, in my opinion, 250% more menacing and epic.
But yes. The terrible dubbing, unnecessary hee-haw pentagon room, russian missile launch are pretty bad.
I believe that Godzilla 2014 will be amazing, but a small part wishes it were more like 1985. 1985 stuck with me as a kid, and I cried everytime they *killed* Godzilla.

That claw doesn't look like anything a Muto has. It's entirely prehensile, like a giant armor-plated tentacle.
I think this comic might feature creatures that won't make an appearance in the movie.
Yeah, I'm sick of the superhero films. And the new Spiderman just seems like it was made soley to milk more money from the character.
Also don't get me started on Xmen:

Good God, that's hideous.
@KingKaijuGojira, I didn't find or create this picture, I simply fixed what the OP was attempting to post.
The background music is the soundtrack! You can hear some resemblence to the prevous released track called 'Godzilla'! :D Very nice!
No.
The MUTOs did have some white on them. Since the artist was doing it entirely by memory, it's possible he thought the MUTO was all white.
He has a nice head..
People are already getting bored of X-men.
As said above, Spiderman has been getting bad reviews.
It'll end up being Godzilla and Spiderman. Spiderman's walk will be harmed by it's bad reviews as Junkerde said above though.
If we're lucky, Godzilla may come out on top.
This is about Serizawa? :O
really cool. wonder what creature is in that ship
Woa! This is awesome!
DURATOK, That is the best Godzilla piture invovling a month I have ever seen.

spiderman has been getting bad reviews, atleast thatll slow it down just a little bit
Mothra's a boss. Many of her stories involve someone being selected to save the world and Mothra only steps in when she has to. But there's only so much that a couple of human beings can do about a giant drill monster terrastomping the country (ex: tank brigades). Thankfully, though, her selected people don't tend to meet that sort of fate. She's a very reasonable monster. Her fighting style has a lot of biting and clawing, except in the nineties when she could shoot lazers and stuff, ad my favorite: the tail drag. Every incarnation has a thing for tails. And when she sheds her scales at the time of her death, although sad, it is one of my favorite moves she has. It can reflect energy attacks and puts a real stick in other monster's grill.
or maybe the mutos were awakened to fight godzilla
