^^Interface for the site seems a little borked, was going to edit my post when I realized I misspelled "Spartan" but the page won't let me. Am suspicious of X-Seijin inteference, or some manner of anti-MONARCH terrorist group.
I love how the painting makes it look like some Sparten-esque warriors with spears were ramping off of Godzilla's thighs to get some air and attack the super dragon. The ancient times version of MONARCH :)
If it wasn't obvious enough, it should be clear by now that Godzilla and King Ghidorah have indeed tussled before.
Okay, so Mothra has faced Ghidorah too? Makes me wonder how Rodan will play into this. He's gotta have some crucial role
Soooo is the movie going to tie directly into this comic? Because if it's an epic battle, it would be pretty awkward for the movie to pretend it didn't happen.
Looks like a really swole MUTO :P
The lovechild of the female MUTO, Orga and Obsidian.
Just pre-ordered the comic yesterday, now for the wait.
The new monsters head kinda looks like a Xenomorph's head.
KingKaijuGojira Don't you mean "Please let it be good."? Lol :) (The comment was meant to be a combination of a joke and my opinion. Please don't take it seriously and read all of this before commenting. Thanks. MDK, signing out.)
Hope that's not a spoiler somehow. Also, since my first comment on this forum, I changed my mind, and I actually find my old argument to be dumb. Also, I agree with everyone else. So for now, I reserve my judgement. We'll see when the film comes out. Thanks for reading. MDK, signing out.
...Serizawa will die in KOM
A Batman v Superman scenario could work for KK v G... only because it's a depiction of two fan favorite characters and no one really wants to see the death of either. KK is the last of his kind. Godzilla may be the last of his kind but no one knows for sure. The title King and God are very distinct. Since Ghidorah is referred to as King... and Kong is as well... but Godzilla is referred to as a God... And Mothra is sort of a Queen... then Rodan could very well be a Dark Knight so to speak. I personally think that Ghidorah will be totally defeated in the KOM... but there will be another Kaiju/Titan that remains a secret... and that KK and Godzilla will have to fight in the third movie. KK may very well be the victor but not by defeating Godzilla... but by helping Godzilla overcome a greater threat to both. Either way... I'm excited about the prospects and possibilities. Actors are just there to support the story line. The real characters are the Kaiju. They are what is going to make the movies great. Cranston made 2014 G worth watching only because he drew you in to his plight. KOM I think will deliver because the cast they have now... looks promising. I think Serizawa is going to die in KOM.
Please let this be true
True, Durp. It's meant to be a tie-in, so I suspect it will keep inline with the film's plot elements.
I'm not opposed to this, I too am waiting until I see the film before I really pass any judgement.
I expect this to be a lot more in line with the movies since they're releasing it into a known universe with a plan rather than 1 standalone movie that might get a sequel.
Looking forward to this. In spite of the lackluster action scene art progression on the last one I rather liked it, and I don't care about all the fan griping about how it may or may not "fit" into the Monsterverse. Far as I care it's a chapter of this universe, sometimes give it a quick read before seeing G14 again.
@MinecraftDinoKaiju Can we as fans stop this trend of predicting or assuming garbage before we ever see the film? What's a bad idea? Having ACTORS in the film? Having the Kong vs Godzilla match up? What are you even talking about?
I feel like this might be a bad idea, and it might actually make the movie be as disappointing as Batman v Superman was, essentially making it a kaiju-sized version of Batman v Superman. Hope that's not the case, but this is just my opinion. MDK, signing out.
G. H. (Gman) Or how non-canon or contradicted it actually is.
My opinion: (In a sarcastic Jim Carrey impersonation) Wow. So canon and so not going to be ignored. I wonder how much of an impression it will leave. B-e-a-utiful.
Lol :)
I wonder how inconsistent this one will be.
I gonna get this comic.
Hey, everyone. Something I need to say about this comment. I was intending on sending it yesterday, but then my wifi went down, and now I'm back. So just pretend I sent it yesterday. Thanks. MDK, signing out.
Original intended upload: "G. H. (Gman) You're sure doing that, alright. I got 23%, but at least I know now that I have to "study" more. So many things I didn't know until this. It's awesome.
To everyone else: Hope everyone learns from their first results, and learns things they didn't know before this test. Good luck, everyone."
Nice chapter, and nice cliffhanger. Can't wait for the next one. Sucks that these are taking longer to make than before. Hope it works out man.
The female parasitoid having freshly laid her clutch of eggs begins to slowly strut away from the legendary godzilla carcass. She turned her gaze towards her dying mate. She approached the crippled male, nudging him to stand. The male struggled to support himself on his remaining limbs, he squawk-growled at his mate before his legs gave out. The female nudged at him again before the pair heard an all too familiar roar calling out in the distance; it was another Vindexgodzillasaurus. The female was forced to abandoned her mate as she desperately buries the godzilla carcass to hide her progeny. The male squawked his last breathe before being blasted apart by a young subadult Vindexgodzillasaurus, his spines slowly cool down from unleashing his atomic breath; LegendaryGoji was his name or Legend for short. The female parasitoid rears up on her hind legs before stomping her large claws into the ground, she squawks and flare her smaller limbs to make herself look bigger. Legend roars defiantly as he approaches her, the female charges towards the subadult godzilla. Legend was picked up by the nape of the titanic parasitoid and was being tossed around violently, her beaked jaws were slicing into the godzilla's tough skin. Legend began to charge up his atomic spines, he fired at the kaiju's hind leg. The female parasitoid squawked as she releases the young godzilla from her jaws. Legend now free, pulled back his head then unleashed the rest of his neon blue atomic napalm on to the female. In defiance, the kaiju parasitoid made one last strike against the legendary godzilla. She struck Legend so hard that he was sent flying back into the coastal waters, the pressure however snapped the parasitoid's front limb in half.
Legend came too, whizzing as the impact of her strike has cracked some of his ribs. He open his eyes to the sight of very tiny furry creatures, the Homo habilis. These early humans stared at the mighty Godzilla with both awe and fear. Legend stared them curiously before finding the strength to stand on his feet. The day was almost over as the sun was beginning to set. Legend turned his attention back to the female parasitoid and noticed she was prone. Legend approached her carefully, the great beast had succumbed to her injuries. Legend slowly bent down to sniff the godzilla carcass, it was his mother. Unbeknownst to him, the parasitoid's progeny were buried deep inside Legend's mother's spine. Legend roared one last goodbye to his fallen mother before returning to the oceans.
Thousands of years later...
Late Pleistocene, Ice Age
Homo habilis have sense went extinct and replaced by his decedents Homo erectus among several other archaic human species before they too faded out of memory and were replaced by Homo neanderthalensis (Neanderthals), and Homo sapiens (Modern Humans). There on the frozen plains of Siberia, a hunting party of homo sapiens stalks the Woolly Mammoth and the Woolly Rhinoceros. Tark was monitoring the large animals, waiting for an opening to strike at these magnificent beasts. He raised his spear but before he could toss it into the massive creature's wholly hide. A loud thunder crackled in the heavens, the Mammoths and the Rhinos were spooked. Tark ignored the thunder, he signaled his hunters to press the ambush. Again the thunder crackled and again Tark payed no heed to it, what he failed to realize there was no lightning coming from the thunder.
Gman,
No worries! I just figured if it interested people, great! If not, then I'll have fun doing this in the process.
That being said, it's definitely from a Judeo-Christian framework, but I've seen a lot already, between GMK and even Mothra vs. Godzilla. The idea of self-sacrifice/atonement, forgiveness, theodicy (the problem of evil)... I figure going through each movie, I'll pick up some common themes and then go from there.
And I've noticed what you're mentioning here in Facebook groups, although I did whittle it down to one. There has been some decent conversations here and there; although I did manage to frustrate a lot of people when I called out the hypocrisy of hating G14 for certain things, while giving the Showa/Heisei/Millennium movies a free pass. :)
It's pretty difficult I admit--But not created to dupe people. The hope is that many see the answers and are encouraged to dive deeper into the background of the series and its connections with other films & filmmakers.
I missed this somehow.
To answer the original question you're going to be hard pressed to find many intelligent Facebook groups out there with these discussions. Toku Legion is probably the only one I can recommend. The others are typically too large and have a surplus of casual fans only interested in viewing the series as guilty pleasures. While others are too small and dedicate themselves to a younger crowd more interested in theorizing over fantasy monster battles.
Forum-wise I would recommend Monster Zero on ScifiJapan.com, but it's been a lot slower these days. It's a little too elitist for some, but I get called out for that too--Whatever.
The ideas you're tossing around are certainly fascinating. What kind of theological perspective are you looking for?

A little delayed on the posts, but thought I'd share.
Even more hyped with this and the possibility of Rodan’s old roar.
Oh cool. I did saw Alien Covenant but not The Nun but that's cool. I'm going to see it always because of Millie Bobby Brown. She's my favorite actress and whatever movie she's in, I'll watch.
This reaffirms what Dougherty said in an earlier interview. He mentioned that they gave King Ghidorah his classic cackling roar. Good to see that's still the case, especially since Anime Ghidorah is getting the recycled Rodan roar instead.
Iconic sound effects. What I hoped for. Maybe Godzilla's roar will be updated to mix the classical roar from either the Showa, Heisei and/or Millennium eras we all know and love with Legendary's too?
OK... that is really cool. Kind of a Batman vs Superman feel where two icons work together to defeat a powerful foe. KK vs G should be similar to that concept in my opinion.
I hope that Godzilla has a more diversified roar that incorporates the iconic 54 roar... as in the low growling and most certainly the sound that when he looks down at Emiko and scares the crap out of her. That roar is ominous and I hope they use that at some point in the movie. As for Ghidorah's sound... a dragonesque roar combined with the traditional (but slightly updated) high pitched sounds that he is known for... that would be cool.
It sounds to me like TOHO has more or less given it's blessing on this film. Does this mean possibly more future films for this franchise with TOHO giving a green light to other iconic kaijus ? Time will tell.
53% Wooooo!
Just continues to prove that I am horrible with names.
