Following the debut of a new movie still from Michael Dougherty's Godzilla sequel King of the Monsters, a scan of Total Film's latest issue has finally found its way online! Thanks to our friends at Gormaru Island, we now have a fresh look at some new plot details and character info.
Here's a quick breakdown of what the article reveals:
Millie Bobby Brown plays the role of Madison Russel. Vera Farmiga plays the role of Dr. Emma Russel. Kyle Chandler plays the role of Emma's ex-husband.
Emma Russel is kidnapped by nefarious forces, who are then tracked by Chandler's character and a rescue team which includes O'Shea Jackson Jr.'s character and Zhang Ziyi's character which is referred to as a mysterious scientist...
Dougherty has paid homage to the Monsters' roots and has remained faithful to Toho's originals. Toho signed off on all Monster designs and approved Dougherty's work without hesitation.
Mothra will be portrayed as somewhat of a goddess. Rodan is the underdog but may play a crucial role in how the film unfolds. Madison has a strange connection to Mothra as well...
Finally, we learn that Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah are not being portrayed as Monsters or animals, but as ancient gods.
