Donzilla55: Agreed. I like the Heisei era Godzilla the most (although the millienuim series were not bad, my second favorite design, well, for the Tokyo S.O.S version anyway). The Heisei series have the proportions just right. His head shape and size, his spikes and tail, were the right proportions that adds up to a great design. Although the 1985 version had his head too big, but this was corrected in Godzilla vs Biollante.
if they did this, they would have to do an ancient Japan setting and might have a recreation of godzilla raids again? yes no maybe, please?
I feel like since I don't watch enough anime, I was unable to appreciate it for what it was. But overall I enjoyed them. Just nowhere near the level of enjoyment I get watching the Toho or Legendary films.
Ha, the "also known as" sections of the King Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra bios is copied directly from Wikizilla's pages for them.
I didn't really like it that much, the aliens' motives were weak, voice acting was off, pretty sure the main character did something he shouldn't have with his sister, and it got REAL weird, I think the first one was best. THEY ALSO UNDERPOWERED A MEGAGODZILLA!!!!!! HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!!!!!!!
While I overall was fine with it, I could see where people were coming from with their issues.
If the Human-centric story was more advertised over "Godzilla vs. sci-fi", it might not have been as vocally derided.
Many people have noted that there's a great wealth of potential, just that it wasn't realized properly in the final products.
My favorite is Heisei Godzilla. He looks the best in my opinion, and it’s what came out when I was growing up, so there’s that too.
Mine has to be Legendary's Godzilla.
He just has a well-rounded overall structure and presence that I really dig. His design is wonderfully simple yet nuanced, his weight and feel are perfect, and his overall style and character are quite striking to me.
To me, he represents the kind of design process that should go towards a modern Godzilla. Harken back to core design philosophies while making changes that don't necessarily change facets of the ideology and story of the character.
He just looks really damn good. He's large and imposing, yet also has a naturalistic look that simply fits the character.
@Gmkgoji and @Mysticlore
I was thinking the same thing. I especially despise the Rodan design
"Open the shields..."
"That's gonna be a no from me boss.
I like more the Wall-Breakers, especially Ghidorah's.
Is this leaked (sorry for being that guy)
Good job on making Godzilla act like just a big animal and not a mindless monster. It already worked great in the first movie and was carried over here nicely.
Yeah, animals tend to prefer to be able to always keep an eye on whatever it is they're confronted with.
It makes sense to show themselves to Godzilla, making sure he understands that the little tiny harmless things are the things he should be looking at.
Oh yeah, I saw this!
Consider us very intimidated
These look incredible
I dunno about you guys, but I don't like these designs. Good thing they went with other designs
Can someone tell me where to get that monarch coffee cup?
Sucks you have to be on Twitter to do this. Looks like I'll pass :(
"have any Godzilla films ever had symbolism or a deep meaning, besides maybe the 1954 original?"
Tell me you're joking....
Speaking of the atomic breath, the Big G's trademark weapon looks alot better in this movie.
What we need is a Godzilla Xbox one game.
Thats messed up LMAO
17, and counting XD
Though not far off, this is like the 9th or 10th one already.
How many of these things are there
That's pretty cool, like an actual animal, but they're also supposed to be gods...... IS THIS SYMBOLISM OF HUMANS BEING NOTHING MORE THAN ANIMALS?!!! XD! Wait, has there ever been symbolism in a Godzilla film? I really doubt this is actually symbolic... but have any Godzilla films ever had symbolism or a deep meaning, besides maybe the 1954 original?
Ok, thanks for the clarification. Can't wait to see how badly that goes and when this happens: "It was at this moment that Monarch realized ... they had ****ed up" HOORAY FOR INCREDIBLY DEAD MEMES!!!! Though a better fit for that would be when they INTENTIONALLY wake up Ghidorah..... if they all die, that's natural selection at its finest......
TheLazyFish actually Rodan was there naturally and Monarch built a base around around his nest of hibernation.
I agree with y'all, but it remains to be seen if Ghidorah can use his tails in battle
I really like the detail of them essentially being spiked rattlesnake tails.
The fact that Ghidorah couples the rattling by straightening himself up and spreading his wings wide is extra cool, since that's a very commonly seen kind of pose for animals who try to look as big and threatening as possible.
I wonder if Godzilla's noises underwater resemble the kind you'd actually hear from giant animals living under the sea.
