I was a kid, and my dad and I rented Terror of MechaGodzilla from the video store. Suffice to say, I was hooked. A giant monster rampaging around and fighting robots and sea monsters? What's not to love?

Kô Ôtani, he made an excellent score for the Gamera Trilogy, Shadow of the Colossus, and GMK, his style is very Fantasy-Epic, using melodies and harmonies to embrace a large scale and the way he uses the Brass section, Beautiful Michael Giacchino and Kô Ôtani as a collab would be a great mix, Michael has proven himself with Star Trek and Roar, that he can do Sci-Fi and with a Balance of Kô, some of the best melodies that would crash with our Ear Drums :D

What made me a Godzilla fan? I guess the best answer to that would be my father, I remember him always watching the Godzilla movies with me on a weekday afternoon on channel 50 from Detroit when I was a kid. My love of the series just grew from that. The best film of the Kaiju series from Toho Co. was Rodan by far, every time I seen that particular film as a kid I would cry because Rodan lost his true love and killed himself in the fire of the volcano that erupted. However, as an adult I would say that Godzilla Final Wars was the first and only film I saw that not only kicked ass, but broke the 2 hour mark as a Toho film. I cannot wait for the new Godzilla film. I am totally psyched for it and will see it hopefully at the drive in when it opens in my area. Do it justice Gareth. :)

does it have a console version and if so which one because i tryed playing it on thet link and it wouldnt let me and i have plenty of consoles that it might be on.

If this is going to be a trilogy, I reckon the first should focus on mutated monsters from Earth, (Maybe Megalon, but without Gigan, I don't feel like Megalon works by himself). I can only think of... Anguirus. The second should be about humans fighting back Pacific-Rim-Style (could be a crossover) with Mechagodzilla, but inevitably failing at the end because Godzilla is just too powerful. The third should be a Destroy All Monsters/Final Wars remake with some alien race trying to take over the world with King Ghidorah and Gigan as their WMD's. Anguirus could return, this time as an ally, but die by Gigan. If Godzilla dies somehow after beating Gigan and King Ghidorah, he needs a son to live on. Just saying, Anguirus as an enemy would be so true to the original Godzilla series and it would be a perfect set-up for him to come back in a later movie as an ally.

I'd have to go with Mechagodzilla because other than being Godzilla's mechanical counterpart, he's just friggin' armed to the teeth and IS one of the few monsters that was TOO close to killing Godzilla. The other one has to be King Ghidorah, simply because he's Godzilla's archrival.

One thing I hope the makers of the movie understand is this: Do not try to make us die-hard fans feel sorry for the humans! They tried to make us cheer for the 'triumph' of the humans in 1998's crap version when they killed Godzilla on the bridge. All I hoped for was to see Godzilla kick their ass. Yes, there can be human drama but I will never walk out of the theatre saying, 'Boy, I'm sure glad Godzilla bought it in the end cause those poor people...' Sure I sound crazy, but who of you out there doesn't think the same thing? WE LOVE GOJIRA! Face it.

It's a tough call. But I say Titanosaurus.

Overall my favorite Godzilla game is Godzilla Unleashed for the Wii, as it has a great roster of monsters to choose from, and I love the faction system and how it allows you to play however you like, which really enhances one player mode. The control scheme for it is really a love it or hate it kind of thing, but you can't say that it isn't unique and innovative at any rate. Also, special mention to the game's soundtrack by Heavy Melody - very kick ass. The PS2 version of Unleashed is really just a sloppy port of STE more than anything. The only advantage that the PS2 version has over the Wii version is having Battra, since he's one of my favorite monsters and sadly, was not in the Wii version. Although the fact that in that game, Battra is nothing more than a clone of Mothra really cheapens that. I really do like the old school Godzilla games as well. Several people have mentioned Monster of Monsters on the NES, and that game is still pretty cool even today. It has it's fair share of flaws for sure, but back in the day it was just a great treat for young fans of both Godzilla and Nintendo. No one in this thread has mentioned Godzilla 2 on the NES yet. I know it seems to get a lot of hate, but I've always thought it was a pretty interesting game. Definitely worth a try for any Godzilla fan, and the concept of playing as the military, defending the world from the monsters, is a different twist as well. Super Godzilla is another very unique game, and I think a really underrated game for the SNES. I know it has a large learning curve and I'm sure that's why most gamers never gave it much of a chance, but it's really unlike any other game I've ever played and it's certainly worth a mention. Also, the obscure Japan-only Super Famicom fighter, Kaiju Daikessen, is a really fun and underrated 2D fighter. I'd say it compares to Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat or Killer Instinct any day. The only problem was that it was never released in the US. Good thing for emulators, though! Oh and umm... the less said about the Gameboy game, where Godzilla goes through mazes punching out monster's lights with a boxing glove... the better. And it would be very cool if a new Godzilla game is made in conjunction with the 2014 film. Although if there is one, I really doubt that Pipeworks will have anything to do with it, and it would almost undoubtedly be a movie tie-in game rather than just an independent new Godzilla game. Still, Godzilla games are pretty few and far between, so I'll take what we can get. Sorry if my post is overly long, just thought I'd add a bit about some of the Godzilla games that haven't been mentioned yet on this thread. Good memories!

Rodan has the flight, strength and the sonic boom. Titanosaurus has not only his strength, the gusts, his toughness, but also can stay underwater as well. But even though Titanosaurus does have these abilities, Rodan is tougher than some of the people have given him credit for. Also he could probably conjure something from the sky, such as make avalanches, etc. from very far up. But, if Rodan were to try to fight low or on land, Titanosaurus does have his wind and enough strength to capture Rodan from the sky at least temporarily. And, if the battle were by any form of water, Titanosaurus could use that to his advantage.

I saw Godzilla, King of the Monsters on Million Dollar Movie on WNOR for the first time in the late 1950's. It was the suspense that hooked me, never seeing the monster until halfway through the film. I've got all the Godzilla movies on DVD and am working on collecting the rest of the Kaiju.

if i was only a few years younger i would have been all over buying those toys because godzilla toys are what got me into the japanese godzilla. i might get one just incase it becomes collectible though.

400 feet tall like in the original godzilla in the american theatre version because i would like godzilla to be as big as possible without surpassing any of his original sizes.

Biollante is by far the worst monster. I found it to be a stupid concept for a monster by combinding a rose dna with Godzilla dna and what do you get a big useless rose.

Yes...in light of PACIFIC RIM,....since most of these monsters top out around 300 feet or so,....I say he should be no less than 400 feet....he's gotta be bigger than the monsters from PACIFIC RIM.

I have made small games before, so I know what im talking about. I think they need to make a game were you see the back of your monster and you free rom in a huge map of all earth. you choose what you want to do, were you want to go, what city you want to destroy. you can find other monsters on the map that you may then battle. a small military, but there is metal monsters. there is a story line of were you need to go, but you don't have to go there. friends can join your world if they are already your friend and you can only have 3 friends with you, or the game would be to easy.
