G. H. (Gman)Godzilla 2014 Forumshould the new godzilla movie play blue oyster cults godzilla song?
I think we also need to take in to consideration if the song would fit with the movie. If the movie is a little more tongue & cheek with fun antics like Iron Man, then it might be appropriate. If it's a more serious, character driven and hard-nosed movie, then it would be vastly inappropriate to have any form of rock music in it. You don't throw a song in a movie, "just 'cause."

@Godzilla 2016 And? You're kind of making a case for people to continue to hate it. Yes it was a Hollywood blockbuster that went bad. And yes it was a disgrace to Godzilla and a slap in the face to its fans. So how is it misunderstood?

Heres a preview : Agents of KAIJU-Part 1, Godzilla takes a Stand 3 years after the events of Pacifc Rim a horrifying sight is seen a giant ship nearly the size of Alaska is seen hovering over the planet. It causes panic and the people immediatly evacuate to underground shelters. They were right to panic, the ship instantly lowered several giamt alien monsters onto Miami, they relentlessly destroyed everything. But something happened a loud roar was heard and it wasn't the attacking kaiju. It was unmistakable the obvious who it was none other than the king of monsters. It was Godzilla. So what do you think?

Godzilla (1998) This movie got so much hate because it was really just a big Hollywood blockbuster movie went bad. Mostly no one liked it because it was a huge disgrace to Godzilla and his fans since. Even though I do agree that cartoon was a little bit better then the movie. It wasn't to be misunderstood but can be seen that way. It just doesn't make sense to me. @Gman2887 Didn't mean to offend you by my statement.

The MOST misunderstood film is...SON OF GODZILLA.. What is so wrong with the idea of Godzilla having a son...Is he not allowed to have a family...It's okay that he protects the earth but Heaven forbid he has a son SHEESH!! There are many single parents out there in this world and that i think is what this movie's message is about...Showing Godzilla as a single parent who has taken a break from defending the earth...So he can raise his son.. The movie portrays Godzilla as a single Parent/Father who now has the task of raising a child...Not only does he have to fend off the other monsters of the island but he also has to deal with keeping his son out of trouble as we see him get into on the island..

Hell no. Their music sucks too. Something of a nod to Akira Ifukube would be much more fitting than that crap.

Godzilla Game Story Idea. 2018. The monsters of the earth haven't been seen on the planet for quite some time now. The space monsters as well have been absent. Peace has descended on the world when it comes to the story of the destruction of the monsters because they have all simply vanished. The giant machines made to fight them are becoming more threats to world security now then anything because these are still nearly unstoppable war machines and in the wrong hands could cause horrible amounts of devastation. Worse every country in the world is feeling threatened by these massive walking avatars of war that since the people who have them refuse to dismantle them. They begin creating their own massive machines all in the name of Self Defense against the monsters that have disappeared. It will quickly escalate into a new cold war. Each country trying to make their machine monster more powerful then the others, those who can afford to do so. All those who can not make such a weapon protests the practice. No one listens though. A new kind of war is threatening to destroy the world, a war of the metal titans. No expert feels that this is remotely possible, as no one will risk firing the first shot. 2019 A year later after the escalation begins, construction methods of the weapons improve and most are finished with in months of one another. All based on monster designs of the past, the most horrifying beasts ever to walk on the earth have been remade to serve mankind. The world skirts a razor's edge between war and peace, but the idea of the great weapons has changed the way war is thought of forever and for the first time in the history of mankind 90% of all military operations are called off because one side does not want to risk the other side being tempted to bring in one of these beasts of war. Peace comes to the world in an uneasy setting no one could have seen coming. Things seem good at the moment. The world goes on. September 4th, 2020. The world is shocked to learn that a rogue terrorist group called C.O.G. has attacked a Chinese military base in the middle of the night. They used stealth tactics to gain entry into the base and the news is spread across the world that for the first time one of the greatest weapons ever created by human hands, was stolen. The Chinese weapon of choice was created in the image of the Destroyer, as the media called it. One of the only few beasts to ever fight Godzilla to a stand still. Worse, once the mechanical weapon was unleashed and unleashed its fury on to the people, the operators vanished along with their terrible weapon. As the news spreads the governments of the world go into a massive panic, the world starts to share the same fear and a crisis begins to develop and chaos threatens to undo society as anyone could be a target anywhere, and no one is sure if their weapon is enough to stand up to such a powerful beast for long. September 6th, 2020 The news of the chaos on earth spreads far beyond the borders of the planet. Alien races watching the earth, always wanting to take it over yet always being beaten back by the earth's natural defenses, the monsters themselves, have decided to form an alliance and make a plan to take over the planet, the best life supporting system they had ever found. They hear of this chaos and call a meeting. They know now that the time is right to strike. Earth technology is impressive, not good enough to stand up to their own collective power though. The outer races decide that it is time to act. The plan is simple enough. September 15th, 2020(Invasion Day) The metal beast known as the Destroyer worldwide still has not made an appearance anywhere, nor have any threats been issued to anyone. The world begins to think that the C.O.G's aim was to take the weapon and destroy it in protest against them. The world is filled with great confusion as life tries to continue. In a complete surprise to everyone when from the sky battleships appear, aliens ships of all kinds. Mysterian, Kilaak, Xian and Simian. All of these ships are seen, but they haven't been seen in so long that some people have trouble identifying them. In the chaos of life and the search for the weapon, no one was watching the skies. The aliens give no message, no war declaration and no intentions of what they plan to do besides one. All over the world the vicious alien armies descend into the cities and launch their attack. No more plots or schemes to build weapons. The highly armed forces' surprise attack on the civilian population was extremely effective. The military response was so fast and absolute that most of the major cities in the world were occupied in less then twenty four hours. The world powers ordered their mighty machines to be deployed and strike back, but the Simians being who they were expected this. Once the machines were deployed their systems were remotely hacked and soon every single one was taken under remote control. The world had been defeated. Much to the surprise of both humanity and the aliens, the monsters did not appear. September 15, 2021 A year after the invasion, the human race is enslaved, forced to work for the alien overlords and civilization is crumbling, the humans are no longer the master of their world. The world is being terra formed. Alien plants and vicious animals are being created in the labs as the aliens split the Earth between them to create their version of their home worlds they left behind. The humans are but a second thought to the alien masters entire populations of humans being wiped out to make room for the alien expansion. All hope is not lost though, it took them a year to do it but the resistance has scavenged alien tech, stolen at the risk of death if caught and created a team of cyborgs with alien tech to begin the counter strike. Operation Vengeance, they called it, the scientists suspected long ago that the monsters all emitted psychic waves and could be located with this method. The first mission is to find and awaken the beasts, for this is their planet too and it is time to find out if they care or not what is happening to their world. So begins Operation Vengeance. Characters: Jack: A resistance fighter whose town was wiped out by the Xian's third wave of attack, he was one of thirty six survivors of a town of 4,500. He hates the Aliens but his revenge and main focus is killing the Xian aliens the most. He can not stand them and has every reason to want to destroy them with their own weapons. Primary weapon: Xian Disintegration Ray. A long range and powerful weapon with the down side of giving away position when fired. Sub Weapon: Energy fists. Jack can channel his psychic energy into smashing through walls and skulls. He is easily the strongest member of the team. Jack is tasked with finding the King of the Monsters, Godzilla. Deep in the Pacific Ocean and connecting psychically with him. Robyn: She is an escaped slave from a Simian camp, her and her entire family was taken to this brutal place and forced to work to death. She was willing to do anything to undergo the experimental procedure to get implanted with alien tech. While she hates the alien invaders, her main focus is to free the slaves and rescue what remains of her family. Primary Weapon: Simian Electric Cannon. A medium range weapon with extremely fast recharge time but it has a low damage output. Highly effective against the mechanized enemies and enemies with armor. Is useless underwater. Sub Weapon: Teleportation blade. A sword that allows her to teleport and take out her enemies with stealth and escape to safety if needed in a hurry. Slow recharge time and overheats if used too often. Robyn is tasked with finding Rodan hidden deep in a mountain range and psychically connecting with him. Ryan: A worker in a Kilaak fire pit who escaped during a resistance raid. He hates all the aliens and hates them even worse because he was thrown into a hellish existence. While most people were just thankful to get out, Ryan claimed to know the weaknesses of the aliens working so deep in their lairs for nearly a whole year. He was picked to undergo the experiment. Primary Weapon: The Incinerator. A slow to recharge heat based weapon that burns through most barriers and enemies. Highly effective and powerful. Useless against Kilaak technology and the aliens themselves. Does not work underwater. Sub Weapon: Cutting Laser. A wrist based laser made for mostly work purposes turned into a weapon. High powered laser with a slow recharge system and highly visible. Works underwater as well. Ryan is tasked to find Anguirus, hidden deep in some south sea island. Melissa: Rescued from a horrid Mysterian breeding camp in a desperate raid by the resistance fighters. As they try to increase their numbers on their piece of the planet they have set up all kinds of these places. No one can do anything about them for the most part and most have given up hope anything will change. She seeks to bring the hope back to the people and volunteered for the implant program. Primary Weapon: Mysterian ice beam. A weapon that has many uses both defensive and offensively. A medium recharge rate but a short range over all. It can freeze many enemies in one shot or shatter a single enemy with one intense blast. This weapon can build walls, bridges and make surfaces slick to make the enemy fall. Extremely devastating underwater and against fire based enemies. Sub Weapon: Liquid Nitrogen Grenades. Thrown into a room they can flash freeze anyone nearby. They can also stick to many surfaces and be on a timer or a motion sensor. Melissa is tasked to find Mothra on Infant Island. John: He is one of the original resistance fighters set to lead this little operation, as he calls it. He was lucky enough to escape the horrors of being captured but has used his military training to fight back, and now he has been implanted with a mix of all four of the invading races, but they don't always work so well together. Primary Weapon: Sonic Wave Cannon. This weapon is extremely useful against most enemies, but it is devastating to the Xians and all of their technology. This weapon hits very hard and a full blast attack can shatter the enemies and their weapons into pieces. It is very loud and gives away your position right away. It has a slow recharge rate. Sub Weapon: Rapid fire Energy cannon. This has an extremely high rate of fire, but only average damage out put and a slow recharge rate. This is a human reverse engineered alien weapon. John is tasked to find Titanosaurus, deep in the ocean. The World: This new and vicious planet is an open world. Any of the team members can go out on their own or work together. They are powerful on their own. Their main mission is to find out why the monsters have done nothing and convince them to fight on the side of the humans. The world is filled with dangerous humans and alien patrols that can be avoided or destroyed. The more patrols that are destroyed the worse the alien oppression on the streets becomes. Humans can be rescued, or put out of their misery. The choice is yours, the more people you save the better you are liked. Alien Ships: There are a set number of alien ships over each city, these can be invaded and destroyed from the inside, or avoided. If all the ships are destroyed over a city, that city becomes liberated. If the team has not enlisted the aid of a monster guardian, they can do it themselves. If they have, they can ask the monster to do it for them, although this type of battle is intense and will destroy much of the city in the process that you are trying to save. Alien ships can be hijacked and flown to a safe place and destroyed over the ocean once all decks have been cleared of a threat, or they can be used to attack other alien ships, if you are defeated you will have a set time limit to escape the crashing ship or die. Monsters: The team is tasked to find their monster, but there are several monsters all over the world waiting to be found and awakened, or freed. Some monsters are more useful then others, but they can cause great destruction if used unwisely. Monsters and humans work together in battle via a psychic link allowing the people some control over the monster's direct actions, however the more damage the monster takes the less control the person is going to have and it can very likely take over in a fight. Some monsters have healing factors and can with stand much more damage. If the monster has a offensive power it can be used on three levels, for example, Godzilla's fire breath could be used as a weak spray, a blue stream, or a red spiral attack, they use corresponding amounts of energy. Multiple offensive powers, more then one can be used at a time, but it drains energy faster. A monster's energy constantly recharges unless it is being attacked with a status effect, such as freezing or electric shock. Some monsters can go where others can't Godzilla and Titanosaurus can breathe underwater, leaving their time underwater unlimited, Rodan for example can't breathe underwater and can only stay there a limited amount of time before damage begins. Rodan however can fly and move much faster in the world then the others ever could. When Psychically linked with a monster in a non hostile environment, it is possible for the monster to take who ever it's linked to and travel with them across oceans or the sky at a much faster rate, the human will see what the monster does just as if they were in battle mode. Some monsters need to be convinced to fight. The human will have to make a variety of psychic choices to convince them to fight for their world. Some will want to fight you to see if you are worthy. Others may question your motives entirely if you have been too evil in your play style, or too good for that matter. If the monsters are defeated in battle for any reason the alien invasion force will rush the fallen body to get DNA samples for their own purposes. The player must defend the fallen monster for a set number of time before the beast revives, once the monster returns to life it will wander off and will not be able to be called on again for three days in game time. Once a monster has been found by any member of the team, any member of the team may call upon it for aid, however monsters are not static creatures and the one you select might be some distance away and take some time to come to your aid, if it decides to come at all. The more a character links up with a monster the higher it's compatibility rating becomes and the better the chances of it showing up to aid you. The monsters are everywhere, it is up to you to find them. Once found, a monster may attack an alien base or ship on their own, but with no link it may cause much more destruction then it would have with your help. Aliens may also attack the monsters as well on their own. Tech upgrades: Each character is capable to get weapon and armor upgrades from enemies they defeat, or bases they invade and steal it from. Each character can upgrade their weapon and armor up to five times in power, stealth, speed, flight and damage resistance. Night vision is able to be obtained, Thermal vision and Underwater Breathing as well. Armor can be damaged and battle as well and degraded to a previous level. Upgrades may have to be obtained more then once. Armor and weapons can be purchased as well at Resistance strongholds located throughout the world. Psychic Rage: Just like the humans can link with the monsters. In time of need the monsters can link up with and provide a gift to their human allies. What this is depends on the monster giving and who it links up with. For example, Godzilla will provide their character's weapon with a devastating, radioactive attack that obliterates anyone it's path and damages any enemies near by. This power can be used three times daily. The can be both defensive and offensive powers depending on the link status. Mecha: The aliens primary weapons are the mechanical beasts they control. They sit stationary most of the time but once and a great while find reason to activate. The do so when approached by another monster of any kind, or if the alien ship is under attack as well. These weapons are not to be taken lightly and should not be taken on when it has back up in the form of the ships as well, even the strongest of monsters would be hard pressed to stand up this kind of attack for long. Once a mechanical beast is destroyed, it remains that way. Whey they are defeated they tend to explode beyond the point of repair. It is however possible to infiltrate one of these weapons and take it over if you're stealthy and good enough to do it. Once you take over you can break the remote control of the Simian race and control it, or hide it for later usage. Mechanical monsters self repair when not in use and recharge their energy and are powerhouses in combat. Just like the alien ships though once defeated you must escape or you will die in the explosion that follows. Cloned Monsters: If one of your monster allies falls and you fail to stop the aliens from taking too much of the DNA, within a week of in game time you will encounter a very destructive version of the same monster with much of the same powers that were stolen. These abominations are attacked by any monster in the area and if it's near a city can cause great destruction. Monsters are drawn to their clones as well and are often used to bait a trap to capture the monsters ally. You must prevent this from happening at all costs. Captured Monsters: Any monster can be captured. While they can not be killed outright, if they are captured they are taken to a secret base somewhere on earth and must be rescued, the longer it takes for you to rescue them the more evil clones of the beast you will have to contend with and these things are extremely strong and painful to deal with. Space Hunter Nebula M: These aliens are also involved in the destruction of the earth, but they play a different role. They were hired by the other aliens to call in the terrible space monsters. The likes of King Ghidorah, Gigan and Space Godzilla are what the ground forces call when they feel they are in serious trouble. These monsters are ruthless and enjoy their destruction and should not be taken on alone if it can be helped, even though it is entirely possible to defeat them they follow much the same rules as the earth monsters do. Once defeated they retreat back into space. Sometimes the monsters from outer space come to earth on their own looking for a fight, so be warned. They are very dangerous. The Nebulans themselves though are creatures of opportunity. Sometimes they hide out on earth, disguised as humans. Sometimes they are willing to make deals with the player and get them special items they might not have other wise known existed on their own. The Nebulans work for the winning side and if you are winning, you may be able to convince them to leave, or try to get them to have their monsters work for you instead. Weaponry: Even though each character has their primary and sub weapons, they can grab any weapon from any enemy if they feel the need to do so for various effects. Some have ammo limits, others are based on energy and recharge. You can use energy melee weapons and be stealthy, or you can go loud and pick up cannons. The choice is yours. If you get the special upgrades from the Nebulans, you can combine just about any weapon to your liking. Side Missions: The world is a miserable place. Humans are in need everywhere from getting simple supplies to raiding bases and saving people. You can ignore them save and kill who you like but there are results for every action you take. The choice is yours in how you deal with people, and word spreads. If you are unkind to humans, they are as likely to attack you as the aliens will be. If you helped more and find yourself in trouble, you might get an unexpected ally when you least expected it. C.O.G: Call of God. The terrorist organization that started the whole mess has regretted their actions and are now sided with the resistance. Their objective has not changed though. They still believe the machines are an abomination and need to be destroyed completely. You can find them and side with them. They will help you as long as you destroy the Mecha. If you keep even one they will turn against you, their assassins will consider you a threat until you destroy the machine, but may still come after you considering how you play the game. They do not tolerate murderers very well being a religious group. Their definition of murder is very loose however. Alien Life forms: The world is being changed. Animals are being mutated along with the plant life to make it a better home. In the cites this is less apparently visible. In the wilderness and oceans however the danger is very great that you will be attacked by some of the various wildlife that now inhabits the world. They should all be treated as very dangerous and be destroyed on sight if encountered, they will show you no mercy. You are more likely to be attacked at night then during the day, but it can still happen. The world is a mix of Call of Duty and Fallout 3. You can play the game your own way and be creative in your killing, there are missions and many ways to beat the game. You can side with the humans like you're supposed to, or hunt the resistance down and say that humanity isn't worth it. The choice is yours. Friend or foe, or maybe you just want to survive in a world gone insane as best as you can? Team up with the monsters or leave them alone. Explore the world and it's secrets or ignore them entirely. Savior or Destroyer, the choice is yours. This is Godzilla: Operation Vengeance. My idea for a serious giant monster game that doesn't involve one monster beating the other in a city arena with little to no point to it really. What do you think?

This is a tough one. There are a lot of Godzilla films that get hated one a lot and they aren't even close to being bad. I would say Final Wars, but it has a cult following and it is defended by many people. But the one film I think that get treated unfairly is Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster. This was first Godzilla movie that had a great change in pace. Rather than re hashing the typical monster on the loose in the city story that went through the previous one, they instead went for a more adventure feel. It was a great way to help keep Godzilla fresh. Sure Ebriah wasn't a perfect follow up to King Ghidorah, but I thought he was a cool monster and the suit looked great. The human characters in the film were also great and likable. This is more of an adventure film with Godzilla in it and it's still great.

Godzilla's Revenge, no contest. No doubt it has a lot of faults, but it's hated for being exactly what it was trying to be: A children's movie. Godzilla's Revenge was made specifically for children. After making some of the best, hard nosed and thought provoking movies in the Godzilla series, Ishiro Honda decided to turn his attention to younger audiences. Think of it as the Sesame Street of the Godzilla series. The movie isn't about Godzilla or even Ichiro's imaginary friendship with Minya, it's about a young boy who lives in Japan during an economically difficult time. His parents are always working and his only adult mentor is a washed up toy-maker. He has no role model to teach him to stand up for himself, thus he imagines one. Godzilla may or may not be real in this movie. It's an ambiguous element left for the viewer to decide, but ultimately it doesn't matter. What matters is that Ichiro is able to use Godzilla, and his son, as inner inspiration to give himself some confidence. Now does it have faults? Absolutely. Because Destroy All Monsters was so expensive and this was a much smaller movie, Toho didn't want to shell out the dough to create a lot of new fights. Thus, we're subjected to a lot of stock footage that becomes jarring as Godzilla's appearance changes from scene to scene. The ending with Ichiro fighting as a means to stand up for himself might also give the wrong signals. As a film for children it shouldn't use physical harm as a means to settle conflict. Alas, the key components work pretty well for the story, it's just not a traditional Godzilla movie and that pisses off fans the most.

Save the Earth was my favorite. The graphics for the time were solid, the multiplayer mode was fantastic and I was very pleased with the amount of destruction you could cause. I liked the monster line-up for the Wii's Godzilla Unleased, but the controls were quite difficult and it was hard to cause the same amount of chaos emulated in the first two games. I wish the controls were more similar to Super Smash Bros. Meanwhile the PS2 version was a joke.

Man this is rough buuuuuut: 1. I kinda want to see a nice effect on his back plates so they should be ig enough and sharp enough to frack a monster up should they grab him from behind. Plus a nice blue and White effect with he uses the atomic breath. 2. Atomic breath is a must. Be nice to see him have two levels..a red for the less threatening things like planes..and white a blue to put down hard to kill beast . Lastly the roar..it should really be able to do some damage

Well, the other monster they showed in this year's footage at the Legendary Panel at Comic-Con, not what they showed at the "Godzilla Encounter" that was just Godzilla, didn't resemble anything that looks like any "Deathla" artwork I have seen, and I've seen a lot of Godzilla art! It looked incredibly alien in nature, and, in comparison, reminded me of some combination of other creature designs that I have seen before. I cannot believe with how many people were in Hall H that Saturday morning, that I have not seen anyone else comment on what they saw...,

While I do not know if it will happen, I would love to see an opponent in this movie. Otherwise this would be the 4th movie with just "Godzilla" in it. Technically Deathla is not a Toho monster that has been used before. So saying a Toho monster would not be used would not be a false statement. Paying homage to Hedorah would be great in a new monster. The same type of creationism could be used for the story line in humans and their impact on the environment creating the monster, but with a modern twist. Global warming? That island of pollution floating in the pacific? Nuclear leakage from the Fukushima? Then again that last part could be the story behind creating the newest Godzilla.

I don't think that is the monster from the footage at comic-con. From the descriptions, it sounded more insect-looking than that. But I think Godzilla will fight the creature from the comic-con footage first in the movie because I think Legendary is still keeping Godzilla's main foe(s?) under wraps as of now.

I kind of hope they use it during the end credits. They played Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" during the end credits of the first movie, so why not Godzilla too? Either that, or Akira Ifukube's original theme.

Well that song hasn't been used lately, I'm expecting them to because the are trying to make it like a classic Godzilla movie but only older Godzilla fan know that song. So I guess they will.

I have to agree with LegendaryKaiju11, nothing so far as indicated as such. I have a hard time imagining a monster made of pollution like Deathla fitting into this more "realistic" Godzilla movie. At most, maybe we'll get a new kaiju with some nods to Deathla's design (red skin, skull-like face), but I think Godzilla is going to fight a gigantic reptilian-like or bug-like kaiju. Also, it has been stated that the new movie will feature new opponents for Godzilla. Obviously, Deathla has not been in a movie, but I still think they came up with new creatures.

Well I can say nothing in the trailer indicated as such. Also having talked to Gareth, he said no Toho monsters will be used apart from Godzilla himself. The monsters in the film are going to be original.

Well personally when it comes to design my favorite is Gigan because he just looks so freakin' cool! Just the fact of having giant blades as arms and a buzz-saw on your chest is awesome! But when it comes to power I would choose Destroyah because Godzilla couldn't even defeat him! I finally took the militaries help to kill it! But Im sure if they had another fight,Godzilla would wipe the floor with him...

Ya I agree the old monster were always the best but we need to see him fight bigger and better monsters to really show off Godzilla's powers and skills.

Most of them did show his power and skills off like King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla and Gigan and most of the others but we need an updated version of these movies now a days.

I think that would be Interesting to see, a new Hedorah fight Godzilla maybe it will be a remake movie. Even though I would want to see new monsters, the old ones are still the best.

Well you guys have to think this is GODZILLA we're talking about, even if they handle the trailers poorly, it'll still make alot, Godzilla is very popular here in the states, even if people aren't into Godzilla, they know enough about him to go and see it. It's not everyday America gets a really good monster movie, let alone a Godzilla movie.
