Def not godzilla attacking that train it looked like an individual "spider" leg or arm bearing down on it.....thinking it happens in a subway ....train gets caught in the crossfire as "muto" emerges from below the earth..maybe? i tried looking for the head..if you keep looking in the back you can still see the track intact which makes me believe in that scene the muto is coming from beneath the ground of the subway floor. "ALL YOU YAEGER ENTHUSIASTS....YOUR KING IS NOT PLEASED WITH YOU LOL" YEA!!
After doing some research trying to figure out how big this Godzilla will be, I have come up with a number that is shocking. When the paratrooper is looking at Godzilla you can see the top of what I believe is the Bank of America building on 555 California Street. That building is 778 feet tall(237 m). The largest japanese godzilla was 100 meters. This new one is more than double that size!
During the train scene....it may have been Godzilla grabbing the train but idk...
My guess for all the covering smoke doubles as a extra layer of showing the devestation of the city, and the fact Gareth and Co. haven't truly finished cleaing up on vfx.

It was creppy and good, like the '54 Godzilla, but I hated all that clouds and smoke in it. If the movie scenes where the monsters are shown are full of it, i'll be desapointed.
Saw the trailer and poster, Warner Brothers has pleases G-fans everywhere.

As one who has been very critical of information, both on this site and off, as well as being skeptical of many things both past and recent, I'm so happy to finally be able to relax and say that Godzilla is well and truly on his way!
The trailer was absolutely beautiful!
A dark, brooding piece with plenty of silent tension and heart pounding dread evoked in every frame. You really get a sense of the terror and confusion going through the minds of the actors on screen, and when Godzilla is viewed through the eyes of Ford during the halo jump, you can really get the first true sense of his size and the sheer mass of the creature as a whole. I can't say how big he will be with any definitive numbers, but he is without a doubt as Edwards stated the tallest Godzilla to date.
The use of the 2012 teaser was pretty clever, and the roar has changed slightly with more of a guttural trail off. The increase in picth at the end was kind of odd to hear at first, but after listening to it a few times it seems to fit the monster quite well.
Again, having been a skeptic and one who has been critical of much information presented both on this site and off, being able to see this trailer has finally put my mind at ease and now I can truly relax as I know that the true Godzilla is on his way to theaters next May! I can hardly contain my excitement and anticipation for this film!
I agree, Hedorah should appear in a Godzilla video game. Along with Gorosaurus, Kumonga, Kamacuras, Manda, Zilla, Minilla, Ebirah, Monster X, Keizer Ghidorah, Battra, King Kong, Gabara, and Super-Mechagodzilla. That would be one hell of a game.

At first i thought it looked good, then i saw some of the parts of the movie, then saw the king, then went to bathroom and spent 10 minutes trying to calm down

Oh yes this is most diffiently going to scare people when they see this trailer for the first time. Excellently well done, and it has got me stoked for the movie. I can hardly wait for it. But if I get a chance to see the desolation of smaug I will be able to see the trailer again I hope.
Absolutely wonderful trailer.
The mood was perfect. Very horrific feeling. There's a sense of dread evoked through the entire thing.
It's also fairly original in that it doesn't show over-the-top money shots, it has very simple and horror-inspired background music (no Inception horn for a change) and doesn't rely on a lot of flash.
It's really the perfect teaser and it shows that WB/Legendary aren't simply playing the marketing game here. They're giving this movie its own identity.
This trailer is amazing, the wait was well worth it. I'm so excited for this movie that i'm gonna watch Desolation of Smaug and leave after the trailer is over. Godzilla takes all priorities over any movie I will watch from now on.

OK...That was.....just...AWESOME!!! The trailer is so nice its so dark... it's THE REAL GODZILLA! He looks so big and scary! I like how they used scenes from the Teaser Trailer but with better quality and a bit changed things! Godzilla is such big! Bigger than a skyscraper!In the scene when they fall out and you see the view of the soldier... I was really...really scared of Big G! Thanks Gareth for that amazing Trailer!

The muto creature(s) could be Destroyer-esque - maybe soldiers and a queen.
My guess is the sink holes are hive openings.
Just a guestimate.

@laminatedeffect, I thought it looked pretty close when I'm pictured the two images together in my head side by side but I could be totally wrong though. My guess is that it probably could be a Muto because why would that organization have a picture of Godzilla. Unlesssssss, they are secretly responsible for Godzilla somehow in the movie.

@Melissa1, when you go to reply to the post u can use the insert button at the top of the reply box, click it and then click insert image if the image is saved onto your computer. If the image is from a website/url then u can go to the very last button in the second row that has a mountain within the square as the icon and click on it and it will open a box for you to insert the url and then just click ok
I'm hoping thats how it turns out. I'm wanting to see the strongest godzillla ever, fight a modernized destroyah, arguably his most dangerous foe ever. besides, destroyah would be the perfect choice for a dark movie like this one is suposed to be.

Also, under (what I think is the eye) is also the words, "MUTO Research.net"
They do seem to go through the same type of metamorphasis. Think about it, if they are similar to Destroyah, and Godzilla kills them all, then that would make this Godzilla even stronger than the Japanese Godzilla, which needed help killing Destroyah, and in the end it was the military which brought it down.
