His durability from heisei-goji, charackter from 54 and atomic breath like 1954-2004 :3
He could just walk back into the ocean, like he does in most films. XD
I'm guessing that they might have a Godzilla vs. Biollante type ending.
They're technically dorsal fins, not "spikes". I'm kinda dissapointed with the size of the dorsal fins though, I like the larger ones that the millenium Godzilla had.
Godzilla 2000 was black but with a pinch of green but GiraGoji was put more green
Godzilla has to win, it has way more fans, we need to show that are a mor supportive fanbase
Awww how sweet of you guys.
about 2005-2007 or 2008(not really sure) when it was godzilla 3d, then in 2011 when it was going to be godzilla 2012.
Good I would say I like all ending ideas nice job
that's a good point also gman
Amen man, thank you!

buying the DVD
Heard about it in 2011 were takarada was talking about an enrollement in the film, believe it was at G-Fest.
most of us are actually hoping for sequels, and one biggest action of supporting the film is to go see it in theaters more than once, cuz Ive read something from Gareth comment on a website that I forgot the name of saying that the best way to support the film and see more is to go whatch it in theaters again and again to increase support.
No one mentioned the 1998 Amerrican Godzilla
yeah
that was awful
in every way
@MIKEZILLA15 I think the one we saw from the first trailer that had a big neck, that scene was probably just made for the trailer.
and from the near final design model and the official toy that weve seen his neck didnt look that big.
I think with how much money this film costs to make, it's going to be marketed very well. I'm sure the companies sees the potiental in the Godzilla Series, there's a reason it's been around for going on 60 years. Not to mnetion all the toys and merch that'll be created
I found out about in 2008 when they first said they were making another one.
Same. It was Godzilla 2012 and hell, the number of fanmade trailers was beyond belief
That movie was 16 god damn years ago? No it's not going to be the same, new Godzilla, fighting monster, ACTUAL DESTRUCTION, the only thing the same about these movies is the title. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't see it just because of sony's fail of a reimagine
Here's all I got to say
i heard about in 2011 but at that time it was a rumour called godzilla 2012
Destoroyah would be really cool, one of my favorite monsters.
Worst design? Garbara in my opinion and I never liked Mothra, exept in GMK.
Yeah, but it's not like that crappy vampire movie is gonna be a success anyway, it's a stupid shitty comedy with a lot of stuff we've seen a million times, and they mix it up with Twilight. Godzilla, however, you can get a lot of good material, and make a good story from the character. So I think Godzilla is still gonna beat that crappy vampire movie in real life anyways.
Either those people have no faith, or they're just uneducated idiots that knows nothing about Godzilla other than Zilla.
Sadly Godzilla is loosing. Vampire Aacademy is garbage for teenage girls, who like horrible movies. Vampires are supposed to be like dracula not like this.
It not simply going back to the roots of Godzilla, but about tonal consistancy. For example, you wouldn't put a David Bowie song in the end credits of Jaws just because it's a popular song. It would ruin the mood of the movie and probably not make a lot of sense.
Jaws had more score by John Williams during the end credits and I'm almost positive that will be the case with Godzilla and Desplat.
On the [very] off chance there is an end credits song, however, it won't be metal. It won't be dubstep. It won't be poppy electronica...etc... It will probably be some other genre that fits the movie and, honestly, a type of song a lot of people here wouldn't listen to. Remember, Edwards is an indie filmmaker at heart. He's not going to junk his movies up with metal and dubstep.
@The-True-Batman
Actually I'm quite enjoying the discussion; but since you feel the need to chime in and repeat things I've already said, I'll, once again, admit that I completely agree it would raise awareness to the general public. But a trailer that costs that much money needs to do more than simply raise awareness. There needs to be promise of return. You hit a ceiling in promotions depending on the outlet/medium and after a few million, you've very much hit it. I'm sorry you're unable to understand such a concept.
I enjoy that you're telling me what marketing is about considering my work though. That was amusing.
You're right 8 votes in a day isn't much... 8% is! With 3 days left of voting if we got Godzilla up in the polls by 8% more each day he would win
^I can attest that it's mostly been that way since I've interacted with it in 1997...
Durp has a point that King Ghidorah has been done in a lot of different ways, but I can't agree that he's reached the apex of his character and shouldn't be used anymore. We could make the same argument for Godzilla.
In the Batman comics many of his rogues gallary are used over and over and over to the point of redundancy, but they keep coming back.
I think giving King Ghidorah a fresh lease in a film would be an excellent idea. Toho seems to look at King Ghidorah as the Joker to Godzilla's Batman-- complete foils of one another no matter what side they stand on. I think one interesting place to focus on would be their rivalry in from a civilian point of view. It would interesting to look at the ramifications of the monsters intentionally trying to hunt one another down.
My favourite post is the What Is M.U.T.O. fourm i came up with about a few days ago.
Durp - I hear you when you say Ghidorah has been done to death. You are absolutely right. But I damn sure would squeal like a little school girl if he showed up in the world that Edwards is creating....like if he was teased at the end of the film-like how the joker was teased at the end of batman begins.
There are some things that just make a godzilla film feel like a godzilla film to me-the design of g himself, the scale (massive destruction-not like 98), the music,...and some goddamn king ghidorah would make me feel right at home :)
I hate the fucking vampires!
Yeah because, you know, a movie titled "Cloverfield" that was critically acclaimed (77% on Rotten Tomatoes), was produced on $25 million and ends up grossing $170 million can be considered a total flop.
I thought a movie that ends up gaining almost 7 times its original budget at the box office and that gets praised by critics such as Roger Ebert could be considered a success but yeah, lets screw logic. Cloverfield was a total flop!!! Why?! Well just because, according to fanboys, he is not Godzilla.
Yeah, I like where this fanbase is going :/
no offence but, 8 votes up is not alot, also despite godzilla being 100,000,000 times better than some movie that milks the successs of the twilight series which appeals to teenage girls and mtv audiences are mostly teenage girls, a vote for movies on mtv that includes crappy twilight copies is going to get the most votes. but we all know that this movies WILL be better.
Don't be discouraged guys. When I first checked this poll yesterday afternoon godzilla was losing 21-79... Now it's 29-71. Keep voting and getting others to get out the vote! If we can make it past this one I think Godzilla will make it to the finals!
