There is no "war" going on. It's pointless drama for the sole purpose of gaining attention. Those who let such drama affect them need to (not to sound blunt) get a life. Seriously, not trying to be mean to anyone on here or out there, who got caught up in it all, but really in the grand scheme of life, it's pointless and immature.

As for the Lebanese site - nobody knows. Again, pointless to get worked up over.

And, debating the trailer release date is just as pointless, since we'll be getting a new one any time. We just need to be patient and not waste time contributing to senseless drama.

But to clarify, I am not a part of, or contributing to, any petty "internet/site war". I've got more important things to worry about.

Legendary's team is in charge of the marketing. WB is just footing part of the bill. (Likely 25% of the marketing, much like they did with the movie.) And for those of you thinking this is the same marketing team as Pacific Rim, you're wrong. The people in charge of Pacific Rim's marketing plan were let go (fired) from Legenday Pictures late last year.

And I don't believe for a second anyone here has "lost interest" because they feel so self-entitled to another trailer. All of you will be there opening weekend whether you like the marketing or not.

As far as I can tell, Legendary's marketing is working. Look at all of you: You're chomping at the bit for this movie and whining and complaining because another trailer isn't out yet.

Marketing is also about timing, not how early you get it out. The Godzilla trailer and spots need to come at a time when it won't be overshadowed by other movies coming out. You really think anyone is going to give a damn about Godzilla TV spots before Spider-Man 2 comes out? After Spider-Man arrives in theaters I expect to see a lot of TV spots because the hype for that movie will have died down and the next big thing, two weeks later, will be Godzilla.

The only people that are to blame right now is yourselves for wanting/expecting something new every other day. Marketing blitzes don't work like they did in 1998 folks. Those days are over. What you should be more concerned about isn't when they're going to release the marketing material, but how. "How" is far more important and impressionable than "when", which is subjected to other studio's movie schedules.

I'm a bit confused of what the point of this topic was but i'll take your word for it "The Great and Powerfull true American Godzilla". I liked the zilla film just because zilla is its own toho monster and not godzilla. Also I don't see how this godzilla looks zilla ish. Hmmmmmm I think i'm missing something that everyone else clearly see's but I don't. I KNOW! THEY ARE BOTH AMERICAN! THATS HOW THEY ARE SIMULAR! Anyways thank you for the information "The Great and Powerfull True American Godzilla". To be honest I never knew godzilla 1998 was released in May. Thanks for the interesting fact :D

Looks like we have a mexican stand off here. Ok everybody just please, weopons down, and lets all take a chill pill for a moment (or a breath mint cause of my atomic breath). We all know legendary's marketing canpain is the freaking devil. But theres no need to start conflict over that. No matter how much we bitch about it, theres nothing we can do to stop it or change legendaries or warners bros mind about the plan that they are going for. To be honest I don't think its Gareth Edwards or Legendary's fault. I'm going to put the blame on warners bros since they are in charge of advertisement for this movie.

I have none, especially when they teased the movie forever and a day ago.  Cloverfield was one of the best marketed movies ive ever seen.  They need to call up JJ Abrams and take a page from his book.  They teased cloverfield during the Transformers movie which was more than a year before it came out. Then continuously gave you small tidbits to keep guessing and trying to figure it out. Never revealed the monster or plot points but kept you wanting more, building buzz.  So as far as Godzilla's one teaser trailer 5 months before it comes out isnt exciting. Its a shame.

Im not trying to start a fight, i just understand where peoples frustration comes from.

WB/Ledengary could be killing it with Promo material advising this is Bryan Cranstons first major role since BB. Also with ATJ being in the Avengers they have a serious cast that they could be selling to the people that dont care for Godzilla as much. But sadly no... they will release a another trailer or two and then be shocked when it doesnt do well domestically.

It as an absolute crime no one has replied to this. Every self-proclaimed fan needs to read this. It's a wonderful, comprehensive book. It really sets up a greater understanding and appreciation for these movies. Looking forward to the new copy.

i thinkits gona be a spider like criture as godzilla isgoing to have a fighting style like a comodo dragon and in the trailer for wath i could see the muto wasnt attaking the train it was steping on it and its leg looked like a spiders or crab legg 

@DINOZILLA0439 i just hope its not to over crowded with different monsters.  I wouldnt mind it for a sequal but right now i think 3 different MUTO's would be perfect.  Winged, Spider/Mantis and a Queen of some sort. 

.....On a side note i have a strong feeling that the monsters are NOT called MUTO's and that is only the name of the organization keeping track of them.

I like reading people complain about marketing who have no background or research on what film marketing really is today.

Yes GINO was marketed very differently and it still wasn't the financial success Sony hoped it was going to be. For that reason it's also one of the last movies that was marketed so aggressively like that. It just doesn't happen like that anymore guys. Deal with.

1998 was 16 years ago. The way movies are marketed is different today, for starters. Yes, some movies have had their trailers out before Godzilla. Yes, we are seeing more about some other movies. But that doesn't equate better marketing.

Most movies, especially in comparison to GINO, keep things under wraps more these days. Movies don't stay in theaters as long as they did in the 1990s. There's no reason to blow that energy and money on an event movie when event movies are a dime a dozen now.

Marketing and film have changed. And they will again in another 16 years. And when that happens I'll most likely be out of a job.

Honestly, in my opinion, I don't think an R rating would work and it would be very unecessary and stupid. I hope it will be PG-13. I'm from Australia so PG-13 to us is M for mature audiences.

I love the SDCC Godzilla trailer. 

I don't see any reason it should be R. Do you want nudity? Sex? These things have no real place in a Godzilla movie, and I hope they don't wast my time with them. Look at The Dark Knight trilogy and World War Z were PG-13. I never felt like they had to "hold back" any content to keep the PG-13 rating. 

I also hope they don't go really gory. Godzilla isn't a slasher, he is a giant monster. There is no need for gore.

I think there is one that is a combination of a mantis and a spider and then there is a flying one that is like a pterodactyl. :)
