Some interesting considerations!

Somehow I'd forgotten about the notion that the MUTOs were "bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance," and therefore could indeed be the result of scientists' meddling. That is an interesting point to consider when thinking about the MUTOs' origins, so thanks for the reminder.

Also, the energy-leaching idea reminds me of something, heh.

(I'm sure there's more I have to say, but it's quite late and I can't think right now!)

ive always kept the destroyah type monster theory in mind, i think my first post ever was actually in regards to that theory, this definetly strengthens that idea, great post!

Guategojira, i dont find that to be a reason to hate it, or the movie. It's a plot point that is important to the story they are telling, we need a real threat to Godzilla, and them showing that Godzilla could kill it makes him that much more powerful.

So glad you finally brought this up. When I saw the MUTO I was like, "This thing is so cool!" And then later I was thinking, "But how will it fight?" Lol. I had considered bringing this up in a thread myself, but forgot.

Not bad, quite impressive, and I've seen a lot of godzilla artwork. 

I guess the answer was obivious. Never doubted godzilla for a second though. But I don't understand why like people like kingkaijugojira (certainly a mouthful) refer to godzilla as a force of nature when he was created in an artificial environment. He is the product of a nuclear bomb, and is highly radioactive. He is far from natural!

Hey, what IF the Muto is actually just a parasite that eat the energy/blood of Godzilla? Then it will not be a predator per se.

But latter, the human activity transformed this previous parasite in to a REAL predator that not only wants to eat Godzilla but also all the other living things in the Planet???

This hypotesis fits more or less well with the possible plot, don't you think?

Junkerde: What I don't like is the idea that Godzilla (the King) is "hunted" by another species.

I mean, he is the main predator, is like the tiger or lion, and although there are some cases (in real life) of dholes and lycaons (the wild dogs of Asia and Africa, respectively) hunting tigers and lions, these are exceptional cases.

The analogy with Anguirus is diferent, because they are "natural enemies", but still, Godzilla was the predator of the two. On the other hand, this new movie (based in the "not yet corroborated" plot), Godzilla will be the prey! >:(

I really hope that this is not the case. We most wait until May for that.

Yeah the Muto might not be as old as Godzilla but it doesn't mean they have never fought befor this current time. Perhaps the Muto wanted to "absorb" Godzillas essence to become stronger whenever they encountered him in the past. So say Big G is 2000 years old and the Muto have only been around for 800 years.

 The context of the sentences are ancient times in which they use ancient in the same meaning. It's not hard to understand, the context is the information around it, they lived during the same time. Easy, simple, you don't have to think about it too hard. But feel free to. Look, BOTH of our meanings could be what it means, we'll see who's right when it comes out though. But I know I have it, it's in the script that was leaked.

Not necessarily. If I refer to my neighbor who keeps stealing Ebony magazines from my mailbox as "my 90-year-old foe", it doesn't mean he's been my foe for 90 years. It just means I don't really need to bother calling the cops because he's probably going to die soon anyway.

for godzilla to have an ANCIENT foe like the box STATES, the foe would HAVE TO EXIST in the same time he was. That's why it's a FOE

It's like saying "Yeah, my foe is Wooly Mammoths, but it's too bad they existed before my time", then they wouldn't be a FOE.

They existed during the same time. Easy concept to understand from that sentence.

How do you read that and not see that Godzilla and the MUTO were from the same time period? An ancient foe, would need to exist for it to be a foe in the first place.

I'd also point out that there's nothing in there that says Godzilla and Muto are from the same time period, and that sentence that begins with "Rarely seen" is a separate thought from the line about his Atomic Ray. It's establishing context for the next sentence that refers to him as "Gojira". So we can't really assume anything about how often he uses his ray or what affect it has on him.

well, you have a point, pherhaps the lack of good visual effects decived me in that film, it didnt look like either were hurt at all until godzilla suddenly finished him off with the breath.

all in all, i guess i could see the muto have a role like anguirus in G raids again.

they literally were fighting the whole movie, idk how that isn't a significant threat. if he wasn't significant godzilla would've been able to off him early in the film. Also Being shot in the face with atomic breathe and being able to withstand that, im sorry but that IS a significant threat, of course for that film.

it says he is "amphibious" not an amphibian. not all amphibious animals are amphibians, take crocodiles for example.

Amphibious does not mean amphibian. It means Godzilla can travel on land and in water. Crocodiles are amphibious creatures for example.

Well if MUTO is really that much of a threat against Godzilla seeing as they absorb radiation, I guess we could have a nice Gyaos-like villain for Godzilla. I personally want to see the 8 legged MUTO, or Bardiel as im calling him, have alot of screentime and actually fight ferociously cuz you gotta admit. 4 huge arms plus 2 small ones. Yeah that will give Goji some trouble
