Don't let that kid bring you down man a lot of people love godzilla all over the world. We have enough people who love godzilla to start a huge country so don't feel bad I'm proud to be a nerd
Amazing! What a fantastic suit! :)
Hey Zillahater, I'm a teacher too. I have monster toys and models here and there around my classroom(it's a rather large room.) I was just saying this weekend to my familly that I want to get a Jakks Pacific Giant Godzilla to add to my classroom. My wife wasn't keen on that one, as I already bought one for my son and have another on the way for my home collection. I wear my nerdiness on my sleeve!
Godzilla Destroy All Monsters for Gamecube would be mine. My friend would come over and we would just battle or destruction mode. Definitly my favorite.
Dupoo4 is right look at the roofs of the building. It's like a Japanese style house.
Are we nerds?! ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTELY!!!
Hell, when I was in school, had my walls covered with "Monster Magazine" Kaiju pics. Never cared what anyone thought then, don't care how they feel now.
my guess is 3-5 times
that's a neat poster
i guess it's okay, nerds are okay people
Isnt the power plant getting destroyed in the trailer also in Japan?
You don't see many origami cranes in US households.
It would be impossible to pinpoint, but i would say between two and four times.
Its an awesome fan-cosplay. A little thin maybe, but then again the thicker TOHO suits weight would be hard to carry around for the guy. But its an all in all cool suit.
Does it make you, and us, nerds? Yes. Is it bad? No. Everyone is a nerd, in some way. And thats something important to remember, you shouldnt be ashamed of it.
And that kid is most likely incredibly insecure(Trust me, im a teacher), and to appear cool he needs to find a suitable target so he can appear cool. Its not okay, not at all, but just remember you may be a nerd, but you are ten times happier being a nerd than he is not being one.
My wife thinks I'm a nerd, but she married me. And she's hot, btw. So if I'm a nerd, I'll take it. My friend, being into "nerdy" things is fine. I'm older, but I could care less growing up if people knew I was into Godzilla. I wore my Godzilla t-shirts with pride. But if it really bothers you, throw some "non-nerdy" things into you life. In my case, I'm an artist, I've been in several musical bands, and as soon as I was old enough, I started lifting weights. It's harder for people to call you a nerd, or wierd, when you you are "cooler" than they are. Anyway, in the end, you just have to be yourself. No matter what you do, somebody's always going to have something to say. Forget them, and hang with people who appretiate you for who you are.
Ehhhhh, more like in between Geeks and Nerds. Gerds or Neeks. But, the other things that people said above is close too. But, just don't be ashamed, ok?
This looks like the work of a talented cosplayer. Bravo.
Jocks are nerds for liking football. Nameing off a whole bunch of plays, your positions, and knowing your teams code names, having a couple thousand football cards, and knowing the counters to every play is about as nerdy as it gets.
I agree with Deadite Kaiju. Godzilla will probably use it at least twice. Once during his entrance and once durning the climax. Maybe more times if needed.
I'm pretty sure it's a fan-made video as well. But I'd definitely love to see how it comes along!
That was cool, but could some one please explain more about this video project. It looks like a fan film in the works that would be awesome to watch.
I have been called weird and nerd for liking Godzilla. They used to call me "Godzilla-boy" because I like Godzilla so much. But I ignored them and I may still be the only one at my school who is a hard-core Godzilla fan, I don't care if I am. I just wish some one found me attractive for being a nerd. Long live Godzilla.
Could also be one of the Asian themed towns/streets in California.
I saw this discussion and just had to weigh in on it. here is another theory... there are 2 Godzillas and one is 350 tall and the other is pictured above. This movie is not going to be a traditional one. I think the big surprise is not the other kaiju / foe... I think its more than on Godzilla. The cover image of Empire magazine and the the front body shot movie poster... when you do a side by side.. there are slight differences in the two G's. Does anyone else see that?
Whooaaa!! I like it..can i keep it? #prettyplease
Hey let's exchange our deviant id if you have one!!
Yes. You are a Nerd, a Geek, a total weirdo.
But you be proud of it mate. If you weren't you'd be just like the d*** who calls you weird; complete normal & ordinary, & that equals to being frickin' boring. So next time some d*** starts giving you crap again! Don't rise to it and stay safe in the knowledge that you are & will be 100 times more awesome than he'll ever be :)
Plus, in angreement with Duratok, it is pretty awesome to be us right now. Once this movie comes out it's gonna silence quite a few of the haters :):)
@Elimshadifam : no you dont make it,it's someone else's sculpt..dumbass
Sorry for being so late with the response, but I tend to avoid any topics involved with spoilers. But yes, this can be it's own topic. It's about merchandising, but it's not really talking about the merchandising itself.
Alright i will make the first one as the finish product..
GMAN2887-Since you mentioned Kamen Rider and Ultraman, another tokusatsu hero I want to see (in live action) is Guyver (well actually I suppose he is more of a manga hero). The first American Guyver film was atrocious and simply unwatchable. However, the relatively little known American sequel, Guyver: Dark Hero (also in live action as opposed to anime) was actually quite entertaining, darker and far superior to its predecessor. It won't win an Oscar, but for its budget, the film was pretty satisfying.
If I'm not mistaken, it was directed by Steve Wang, better known as the make-up artist for flicks such as Predator and Aliens. I read in an interview that Wang was a huge fan of Ultraman and other Tokusatsu heroes. If there will ever be another live action attempt for Guyver, Steve Wang should be the one directing it.
Let's cut to the chase. All this talk about the future of modern kaiju hinges on one central fact, how it will do at the box office. How much does the studio think this movie should make to consider it a success? For all the critical panning the 98' movie received, in terms of box offce take, it was actually not too bad. But evidently not good enough for the studio (Sony) since they pass on the chance to make a sequel.
Do more like this. Seriously, nicely done.
You are a very good drawer.
I think he will use it at least twice.
Tell that kid to get F**KED, excuse my profainity. Yes, we pretty much are nerds but isn't everybody a nerd? Different people are different kinds of nerds in different categories. For example, there are sport nerds. People who are heavily into watching sport are nerds in my opinion. People who like action/superhero movies are also nerds. We are Godzilla Nerds and proud of it. Don't worry about that kid, he will never be cool enough to be a G fan.
