ign did pretty much confirm that there will be a godzilla skeloten, but the skeloten they were in looked very different from the skeloten from the trailer, for the one in the trailer if you look carefully you can see that the ribs extend far beyond the naked eye a previous godzilla skelotens have never looked like that.
gareth edwards has stated that they are focusing on making this movie a standalone movie, so when you watch it there will be NO hint of a sequel, it all depends on the success of the movie. if he did, hedoarh while a cool monster was only original at the time, do you know how many movies a based on the fact of pollution, that theme has been overused since the end of the cold war and hedorah is basically a symbol of pollution, a modern audience will be like 'OH GOD not anouther anti-pollution film' however hedorah or any showa monster has more chances being in a sequel than mechagodzilla or destoryah.
then what else were they? It definetly doesnt look like Muto bones. Im sticking with Godzilla bones.
Unfortunately G84 got canceled and we're only getting G94, because apparently that suit hasn't seen enough attention already.
1. According to some sources Godzilla tried to free little Godzilla before fighting space Godzilla. Afterwards it's safe to say he escape because after spacegodzilla's destruction the crystals went away.
2. You're probably right, I haven't watched Godzilla vs Destroyah in a short enough time frame to really remember this. It's on my list to rewatch but still have to finish the showa series
3. I consider it an atomic breath in the early showa movies, but toward the later entries it takes a more ray like form.
@Deadite Kaiju, I have S.H. Monsterarts Godzilla 2000. It's totally worth it. You'll get a lot of articulation and enjoyment of that one.
They are separate creatures but so is the Ghidorah from showa. heisei, and millennium. One's a space monster, one's a genetically engineered future monster, and one is an ancient monster that guards japan.
It's not the same, but they both shoot lightning, have the same general looks and the backstory of Keizer Ghidorah is fairly similar to what we've seen in Monster Zero from the showa. So I can see some1 arguing either way for if they should or should not be included in the same idea at least.
The concept of Hedorah coming back in a Legendary film is very intriguing. I honestly do hope that someone convinces Gareth to do it.
Ugh everytime I see the title Godzilla on Monster Island for Godzilla vs Gigan I cringe. It's a really bad translation and it's stuck to the movie.
Also not that big of a fan that they changed the double feature with Destroyah to include Megaguirus.
I like all the feedback, but could someone clarify where the idea that Keizer Gidorah and King Gidorah are the same entity?
Judging from my research, they are seperate creatures.
Sorry to crush your hopes but thoose bones weren't godzilla's.
Mrryu719, this is a godzilla forum for godzilla fans, nobody cares about free keys.

As a side note Banno really needs to get off his Hedorah train. It's been over 40 years and it's not exactly the staple showa movie that needs to be continued.
Definitely, I love the Godzilla 2000 design. I will be getting the Godzilla 2000 sh monsterarts soon :)
@Lothos
I'm no authority on HD masters, but I can confirm that, with the exception of King Kong vs. Godzilla and King Kong Escapes, the rest of the materials come from Toho's HD masters. What the distributors do with those after the fact is up to them...
Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla vs. Biollante have been said to have contrast issues due to the differing levels between Japan and North America. (This is often fixed by playing with the contrast on your television.)
Sony has been known to play with the materials given to them in the past. Tokyo S.O.S. has a blue color filter on it and Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla / Destroyah had some alterations. (I can't confirm the latter two though.) What Sony does with their new Bluray discs is yet to be seen. Though I'm sure it will be of excellent quality.
The issue with King Kong vs. Godzilla comes down to which version you're talking about. I've also heard about the loss of certain prints. I believe that affects Toho's Bluray discs, but Universal's is a different story. Since it only includes the American version their materials come from somewhere else.
I think I was a Godzilla fan prior to Godzilla 1985 but that's the one I remember as my first clear Godzilla memory.... I think I wanted to see it because the poster in the video store looked sweet, and being blown away at how fantastic the movie looked compared to prior Godzilla stuff I'd see in syndication. I also humorously recall my 8 year old self marveling at how deep it was when Raymond Burr would monologue about Godzilla being a reflection of the world we ourselves created (as I said I was 8 it was huge concept at the time) . I hope they figure out the rights so I can see it again someday....
Not to be negative, but there would be no point in creating Mechagodzilla.
Basing the shape of a giant robot off of another monster does not grant it the strength, durability, speed, or overall power of the creature it's based on.
There is no point in making a Kaiju shaped robot when a human shaped one is inherently faster, more agile, and better suited to combat under human control since it's the exact same shape and moves in the same way.
Mechagodzilla has no place in this Godzilla universe because the whole concept of Mechagodzilla is entirely without merit of any kind. There's no logic to designing a giant robot after a Kaiju at all. In the end, it's just metal and circuits and it will never be able to match or surpass the original in any kind of realistic setting.
BRILLIANT!! Well done. More people need to see this.
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but I'm curious... I see a lot about some of the Godzilla films having HD transfers but do we know the quality of the source prints at all?
A VHS source in 1080p is still terrible. I did read that King Kong Vs Godzilla apparently has issues because at least some of the original 35mm print was lost and they had to restore with 16mm. On the other hand the restoration of the original Gojira print for the criterion release is apparently fantastic...
Netflix dropped 1,794 titles from its streaming library due to the expiration of licensing agreements with several studios. Godzilla movies were one of those.
If it means downgrading Godzilla and upgrading Kong.. like they did in the orginal, then nope!
Godzilla VS the Sea Monster back in 80's when they ran Godzilla movies once a while on saturday nights.
I dont know why but I like Final Wars design expect for his thin snout. Tokyo SOS comes second. I am going to wait until 2014 comes out in May to see what the final design is before deciding. Overall I like his design but from what I am seeing in toys and images, his feet seem wrong kind to support him upright.
Great idea, but its never gonna happen, dude. :( I wish it would, but giant robots would, I think, undo a lot of the mood and tone Gareth is trying to instill into Godzilla and his world in this film. Besides, Pacific Rim already took on the concept, and many people would label a Mechagodzilla sequel a retread and address it with a "been there, done that" attitude. I'd love to see it, but there are other monsters far more likely to recieve Legendary updates.
1. Im still not convicned that thats a godzilla skeleton.
2. Mechagodzilla isnt the most practical way to defeat godzilla with todays technologyl.
3. It dosent really fit the tone Gareth is trying to aim for.
4. With this info im gonna say no to mechagodzilla in a sequel.Yet could be wrong.
5. With todays cgi imagine how "Badass" mechagodzilla would look!
Oh boy, where do I start with this...
#1: Gareth mentioned that if he ever got a chance to do a sequel, he would love to explore the Monster Island concept. This sequel has NOT been confirmed and may be wishful thinking from us and Gareth, although I do hope he gets to make such a film.
@2: The proposed Hedorah sequel has NOTHING to do with Legendary. Its the idea of Yoshimitsu Banno, original Hedorah director and Godzilla 2014 producer. It has not been formally announced, and at this point is still a conceptual idea that may become a Toho produced film, but may not happen at all. It would defintely be great if it did happen, though. The concept of a new monster is intriguing, and it would be amazing if it were a suitmation film produced by Toho.
#3: Gareth NEVER said that Hedorah would be appearing in any Legendary sequels, and mentioned that the original Godzilla vs Hedorah was ONE of his favorite movies, not his favorite. He has stated at nauseum that the original is his favorite.
39 here- old enough to have watched Hanna-Barbera Godzilla when it aired on Saturday mornings.
It's the adult Godzilla Jr from the end of Godzilla vs Desotroyah.
I would say king ghidorah (including keizer ghidorah), he appeared in showa, heisei, and millenium.
Idk how to do anything on this site but comment and report comments
Oh ok. How do I delete a topic?
Yeah this has been up for a while.
Your a little late man, this was one of the main topics covered by Chris.
I wonder if they will update Mechagodzilla to todays robots. Like a transformer. It goes from some super weapon to Mechagodzilla.
Interesting idea. However, I highly doubt we'll see any type of mechs in the new Godzilla franchise. :/
Am I the only one who says Orga? I am? M'kay...
Lol, yeah, but you know of the choices above, I would say Keizer Ghidorah (he counts as King Ghidorah right?), because Godzilla needed asisstance from humans in order to defeat the guy.
I'd also Bagan. He needed a super transformation just to fight him. So he might have for Destoroyah and Ghidorah, but Super Godzilla could probably defeat burning Godzilla. Plus, Mechagodzilla is almost like a rival, neither one ever wins, but keep competing.
