SOMETHING REAL saying "compelling" again. That's a shocker.
It's ok Murph Dog he is new.
Btw my top 5 are:
1. Gojira
2. Godzilla vs King Ghidorah
3. Godzilla vs Destroyah
4. Godzilla vs Biollante
5. Godzilla 2000
I absolutely love SH Monsterarts and I own 3 Godzilla figures from the SH Monsterarts toyline. I have been fairly impressed with their detailed and articulated Godzilla figures. But I also really love Neca figures as well. I own some Alien and Predator figures from Neca and I must say they are very impressive. So what I am going to do, is I will wait for both the SH Monsterarts and Neca G 14 figures to be released and I will watch some reviews and then I will buy the one which I am the most satisfied with :)
It all depends on Godzilla's level of intelligence, same with all intelligent life. Taking in account what Gareth has already mentioned in interviews about the monsters having personalities coupled with fact that there are incarnnations of Godzilla that feel emotions like sadness and anger I would say I believe he's angry or capable of anger. There are many old Godzilla films and comics that displayed him operating at a greater level of intelligence than your average animal. A golden example is when Destroyah killed Jr. Godzilla attempted to save his dying son and when he failed he was overcome with sadness and anger, and I personally challenge the idea that he was just overheating and that was all. Now that being said, you may think that Gareth is after a more realistic take on the king and as such he cannot possibly harbor emotions as complex as hate and anger, but if Godzilla is as intelligent in this film as his predecessors or he's simply something more than I believe it fits realistically in the story.
The superhero movie market is so saturated right now. Audiences starting to get sick of them, I know I am. Godzilla is going to kill it, and spawn a new age of giant monster movies. Superheroes will soon take the back seat and true Sci-Fi will own the market in Hollywood. It's a good time to be Scified haha ;)
@Gman2887 @Devianteist The site I run is Death's Door Prods. These suggestions are for movie commentaries. We have a weekly movie commentary feature we do every Friday, with a theme tying a month of commentaries together. For example, April was Sean Bean Dies Month where we watched movies with Sean Bean.
May is going to be Worst Godzilla Month (working title), where we're going to watch 5 of the worst Godzilla movies based on your suggestions (thanks, by the way) and the suggestions of some friends and colleagues who know more about the Godzilla franchise than I do.
I'll be compiling a list of potentials based on the suggestions, narrowing it down to four (because Godzilla 1998 is guaranteed a spot on the list), determining an order, and posting it on May 1st.
The two pages are linked to share likes, but offer different content. They have the same likes. ;)
I dont play with the toy either just display em like every other G fans do.
but every once in a while I like changing the pose of the figures for a different view in my room.
guess ill be buyin both and of course the sideshow collectible if its not too expensive.
Godzillasaurus Rex-Yes, its the box office receipt that counts in the end for a movie, not youtube views.
Online buzz does not always translate into box office gold. Snake on a plane had plenty of buzz but it didn't turned out as well as the producers hoped.
Of course, Godzilla has a more established "brand" so there is confidence in that. However, the point is, don't mistake online buzz as actual popularity and box office.
I'm going to skip both and get the Sideshow statue when it comes out. But you hit the nail on the head with your assessment. NECA will be more stable, but less poseable (probably), the SH figure will (probably) be more poseable with a bit more detail, but the articulation will be more noticeable as well. I guess you have to weigh those options against each other. I prize detail above all else, I don't play with the toys, so Sideshow is for me, but I will be paying out the patoot for it...
That's awesome man. Sadly, knowing my theater I probably won't be able to buy midnight release tickets until a week before the film comes out lol
Is he angry towards humanity? No, that whole Castle Bravo thing is all in the past now, and it didn't really hurt anyways.
Is he angry towards the Mutos?

What do you think?
The international trailer was the best of all.
I wish I saw that wondercon footage, but I dident want to be spoiled, then rob from ETN said it contained no real major spoilers. I come back to see it poof gone. Oh we'll just have to wait till thearters. My favorite shot is when godzilla roars up in the sky.
1964's Mothra vs Godzilla, easily. Particularly the American dub, which I think is unmatched even to this day. My Mom bought it and The Terror of Mecha Godzilla for my birthday when I was in high school and these two really stick with me. But Mothra vs Godzilla was filled with epic plot that put me through a myriad of feelings. It also had awesome battles, memorable characters, and some of the best movie scoring you could ever want to hear, not to mention it introduced me to two of my all time favorite monsters.
I personally have the same opinion as Devianteist about Marvel movies.
Superhero movies are nothing but the same rehased stuff that we've been having shoved down our throats for the past few years.
No one gives a poop about youtube views. Lets all agree on that.
Kyle from the podcast Kaijucast is entered in this contest and c'mon he deserves to win by far.
I removede the link because of the fuss going on, but c'mon if anyone deserves this , it's the guy who created kaijucast. really.
The SDCC 2012 trailer.
It sends literal chills down my spine everytime I see it.
Basically the same media stuff we've already heard already. No red meat here.
Tell that to Avatar...
No way Godzilla will do better than Avengers. Avengers had years of prequel movies coming out to build hype, godzilla has had a few months to the average viewer.
@LazyGecko- You're too late to the party, sadly, my friend. Chris Picard has laid the ban hammer on any and all information pertaining to the watching of the Wondercon footage.
As for Godzilla's "anger," I will agree it is probably more-so animal-like aggression. His sentience plays more of a role in problem solving and battle than emotion.
Lol'd at the end.
MARVEL and DC movies, I have come to see, are washed up, unoriginal and can barely hold a single plot together.
Unless they're animated. Then they can actually make sense of stuff.
This new Godzilla movie may not be as popular as the Avengers, but damn it, it will be better. Even if it sucks.
Why?
Because Godzilla is more of a symbol than any MARVEL or DC hero ever will be. Except for Superman. 'Cause, y'know. Superman.
P.S. I hate Superman with an inhuman passion.
Do any of you guys know where I can see the wondercon footage? ...and i'd say he seems pissed from what I've seen
Well, if it does surpass the Avengers, I just hope fangirls won't do yaoi pairings with Godzilla and the Muto or something. :P
@Gman2887
I believe that was due to him changing from a Godzillasaur into a full Godzilla. When he is first born they mention him being a plant eating Godzillasaur then in vs. Destroyah he had taken the same mantle as his father, so I think that's the change they were talking about.
HAHA! The end! GOLD!
Let's see some statistics. The main trailer for Godzilla, which has now over 20,000,000 views, is a month old. That is roughly on the same level that when the Avengers trailer came out (the one with the 40 million view count: Marvel's Avengers Assemble (2012) - Official trailer | HD ), after the movie was released, the boost brought it another 20 million.
Based on these estimates, Godzilla is as popular as the Avengers. It all depends on how well loved the movie will be when it's out, if it will be, you can be certain it has a fighting chance. It can even surpass the Avengers level if it's really lucky.
No it's all just my opinion and I don't want to come across as an asshole but it's hard when you try and say why you don't like something because you'll always come across as a hater.
But I don't feel at all like Akira Ifukebe ever used anything like this in any Godzilla movie. I really love Akiras soundtrack and even in the more campy movies it sounded like he at least took the music seriously.
I haven't seen the wonder-con footage because I don't want to spoil the movie too much so I don't know what the music sounds like there I only have this to go on but I really hope it gets better because the music is what made alot of the older movies great.
I found it creepy. Trust me, wen it's on with people screaming, buildings shattering, turtles having sex, its definetely gonna fit.
As much as I dislike the Avengers movie, I'm afraid it is more popular compared to Godzilla 2014 by a long shot. :/
No, the Avengers trailer with the most views that I see has more than 41,000,000 views. Yeah, Godzilla has a really high level of hype right now, but not that high.
I'm fine with opinions and all, but you're stating it as if it was fact.
All the Godzilla movies used this kind of music!
