The Destroyer. Part 2

Discovery

A small, nearly inaudible beep sounded as the drone was activated. It appeared to be a small disk, floating in the seemingly unending body of water. A Monarch military reinforced Anti-Titan warship 20 ft from it. As the humans on the vessel watched, the drone silently descended into the water. 

Deep into the abyss, the drone slowly unfolded itself. The disk turned into 2 parts. The two halves slowly extended from a thin frame, then folded in on themselves, making the drone look like a double edged knife. A bright light shone from the thin frame as the drone propelled itself forward using propellers in its 2 halves. As monarch operatives watched within their ship, the drone slowly searched the sea floor. A sudden jolt made the drone camera stop. A small mechanical arm extended from one of the trusty halves and took a very small sample of dirt. The drone reverted back to its disk form and floated back up.

The vessel collected the drone and delivered the sample to a monarch research base. A team of scientists quickly went to analyze the sample. At first nothing showed up on the various scans besides unusually high radiation, but using a high grade microscope they made a startling discovery. An incredibly small colony of organisms. They were a bright crimson color, and looked almost like crustaceans, with four spikey appendages at the front and a small flagellum(“tail”) on the back. 

This all started when MPS serviceman Jason Adderman recounted his story to the Monarch council, a team of Monarchs top researchers and military operatives.  At first it was believable, a newly discovered titan(now named Titanus Ahuizotl) had attacked a Monarch sea rescue vessel. But as Jason continued with his story, the council found it hard to disguise their disbelief. Jason claimed that another creature had dragged Ahuizotl beneath the waves before it was about to kill him. He also theorized that the mystery monster was secreting the highly acidic substance found at the scene, and that it involved the recently used oxygen destroyer. Even though the council had their doubts, they all conceived it was possible that an undiscovered titan with an ability to adapt to/acquire the elemental properties around it,The oxygen destroyer had an extremely high hydrogen concentration, thus making it acidic when released into water, was plausible. Jason's theory was further backed up when small pockets of radiation, a titan signature, suddenly showed up on their radar. This persuaded them enough to send the drone to collect the samples.

What hadn't shown up on their radar, or at least not yet, were the numerous reports of mysterious creatures attacking villages on the island…
