(SPOILERS) Anyone else think of Godzilla The Series when you saw this scene in KOTM?

(KOTM SPOILERS) 

I loved every bit of the monsters bowing down before Godzilla at the end.

I immediately thought of the second to last shot of the Godzilla The Series opening where Zilla Jr stood above the other mutations (there’s even a strange spider creature).

I would like to think it’s a slight tribute but probably not likely. Anyone else see this?
