When I was really young my mum bought 1933's King Kong on VHS and when I watched it I couldn't help but become immersed in the experience. I found myself intrigued by the stop-motion animation as well as Kong and the other creatures of Skull Island.
Around the same time I watched 1998's American remake of Godzilla, now that I think about it the movie works as a giant monster film but not as much a Godzilla film. It wasn't until Cinemassacre's Monster Madness Godzillathon AND this very video (seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx0eIM-kfn8) caused me to fall in love with giant monsters as a whole. Over time I became addicted to Godzilla, Kong and other giant monsters such as Ultraman and Zone Fighter.
I'm happy to be a G-Fan, even though some people in the fanbase may be a bit "irritating" that shouldn't speak for the entire community as there are some great people here. I tend to stay off the YouTube side of Kaiju fans, as they tend to get into uncalled for firefights regarding Godzilla and Kong and it doesn't do much for the fanbase.
Another thing my favourite Godzilla "monster" is Jet Jaguar, I know he kinda doesn't LOOK like a monster per say but he is quite funky-looking. My favourite giant monster movie is King Kong (1933) next to Godzilla (1954) and that girls' choir scene really made me feel and think. Thanks for reading.
