MemberMothra LarvaeJul-29-2015 9:01 PMI think it would be cool. At the end of part 1, it would leave you wanting to want more. And a grand finale in the end of part 2.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-29-2015 9:05 PMHave had waaaaaaay too much of that recently. So no.
I? I am a monument to all of your sins.

Something Real
MemberGodzillaJul-29-2015 9:41 PMMIKEZILLA15 - I would be opposed to the idea. As VARAN04276 so wisely stated, we have seen this particular ploy with far too much regularity as of late. Regardless of my standpoint, however, if you believe it would be a neat idea, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. :)

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-29-2015 10:38 PMThe way I see it, two parts isn't a bad idea, cause allegely godZola 3 is gonna be a "destroy all monsters" type movie, so we're gonna need two parts to allow more action between a greater list of monsters

Triple X
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-29-2015 11:17 PMI like to think about every godzilla movie as a finished chapter. So NO, i don't like the Idea of splitting a movie into two parts. If they go and decide to create a Dekologie, i am more than fine with that.

MemberBaragonJul-30-2015 4:48 AMSplitting a finale into two parts is something movies that are based on books can do as the information and basic story is already there they just get to actually follow it since following a book with hundreds of pages is difficult to do fully when transferred to the big screen. This is also a huge cashgrab essentially allowing the company to double the profit with pretty much the same info they could have very well fit into 1 movie.
So no, they shouldn't switch it to two parts, it wouldn't make sense logically, and would just be a huge cashgrab that woulld cause us to wait another 4 years of so for an actual finish.

MemberGiganJul-30-2015 6:43 AMNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have WAAAY too much of that already-
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay
Twilight
Most likely the same will happen to the Maze Runner and other movies based on books. As of Godzilla, the closest to this should be a direct sequel.

At least Harry Potter had a legitimate reason for doing that. Other movies just copied Harry Potter as a cashgrab.

Durp004
MemberBaragonJul-30-2015 9:42 AMNo Harry Potter didn't have that legit a reason either, if they fit Order of the Pheonix into one movie they could have easily done it for Deathly Hollows, I don't remember which one of those books is longer it's been forever since I read them, but I do remember it's not enough to split one in two.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-30-2015 9:46 AMWell actually order of the pheonix was actually longer than deathly hollows (In book form)
I don't know what to put here

Durp004
MemberBaragonJul-30-2015 9:49 AMAh thank you, I knew Order of the Pheonix was by far the longest before Deathly Hollows, but couldn't remember if Deathly Hollows overtook it, I assumed so since it got two movies, but guess that just layers the point Harry Potter didn't need a 2 part finale.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-30-2015 10:08 AMYeah it was just to make money.
I don't know what to put here

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-04-2015 5:50 PMNo for the reasons mentioned, though I wouldn't mind a really long, 2.5-3 hour long epic conclusion for Godzilla 3.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-06-2015 8:25 AMI would have to disagree about Deathly Hollows being a cash grab. After the second HP moive, the pacing started to feel rushed, especially considering how long the books were getting. DH I&II return to the previous feel of the films before they tried to stuff too much plot into single films.
Getting back to the main topic, splitting films only make sense if you're telliing the apporpriate story. I don't think a giant monster movie needs to be so nuanced that it needs to be segmented in order to tell a credible story.
