AdminGodzillaApr-09-2015 7:26 PMAs the years have gone by I like this soundtrack less and less. So inconsistant. And I absolutely hate Bio-Wars.
The best theme to come from this movie was the Super-X 2 motif.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-09-2015 8:24 PMI absolutely love the Godzilla vs. Biollante soundtrack, especially because it is so vastly different from other soundtracks in the series. It is incredibly inconsistent from piece to piece, but in my opinion pretty much every individual piece is solid and works well with the scene it underscores. It's just that none of the tracks really sound like they should be part of the same score. Sugiyama shows a lot of variation with every piece, he goes from a John Williams-esque motif to a stellar military march, to a slow horrific score, to emotional soft piano music, to heavy metal guitar, and everywhere in between. His use of Akira Ifukube cues makes the soundtrack even more inconsistent at times, but I applaud him for fitting some of Ifukube's long-missed pieces into the score.

AdminGodzillaApr-09-2015 9:30 PMI guess I hate it more in context with the film. I suppose it's not a terrible piece on its own, but it absolutely stinks where its used. Maybe if it were for another movie... It would've fit nicely with Final Wars.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-14-2015 12:34 PMI am not a fan of the soundtrack as well. It doesn't carry the same vibe as the previous or subsequent Godzilla entries and the score lacks that massive punch that composers like Ifukube managed to capture every single movie.
