The feet seem to be Irys-inspired. Which is okay with me, since this Gamera would be a bad guy. This design seems built for speed. So, I see him causing not only destruction, but chaos. Instead of being the 'punishment for the sins of mankind' (which has been done to death), I would rather see this version of Gamera acting without any rhyme or reason. Maybe a kaiju version of The Joker from the Dark Knight (one of my favorite movies). Maybe he could connected to Asagi, and then kill her. There are two distinct, but not totally unrelated advantages to this. One, it establishes the character's malevolence. Two, it ensures that Ayako Fujitani doesn't return for any future installments. (Just kidding; I like her and her character, Asagi. If I actually knew her, in real life, I'd buy her a box of See's Candy).
If the story this Gamera is the center of is part of the Heisei Gamera universe, it could indicate that Gamera when rogue after somehow (or because of) overcoming the Gyaos Swarm. A graphic visualization of that battle, depicted with all of the imagination that tokusatsu can muster, would be a great viseral point for the mayhem that this Gamera personifies.
So, that's my idea for the Gamera reboot. No more 'Earth Spirit,' 'Defender of the Earth,' 'If you knew me, you'd love me.'
Rather, a vicious monster, with speed and lethality, unloosed.
