MemberTitanosaurusMar-09-2015 6:57 AMAs we all know Toho is making another Godzilla movie set for next year. What I want to know is what Godzilla's roar will sound like, esspecially since Legendary introduced a new Godzilla roar. Will Toho's roar be like it's classic ones (Showa, Heisei, Millennium) but more modern? Will it be like Legendary's? Will it be a mixture of both? I guess we'll have to wait and see. I personally prefer if Toho brought back the classic, iconic Godzilla roar, but modernized it a little like they've done with the years past.

AdminGodzillaMar-09-2015 4:59 PMToho has about six different main variations of Godzilla's roar. My favorite goes to Godzilla's roar from 1984. I feel both 2014's and GMK's Godzillas could have benefited from a roar as deep and terrifying as that.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-09-2015 6:51 PMGodzilla 2014's roar and 1984 roar actually blend quite nicely. For the next movie, they should really consider recreating that roar as well for further mixing. That, and of course Rodan's, Mothra's, and King Ghidorah's. X)
As for Toho's 2016 roar, I have a feeling they are going to whip out something that none of us are really expecting. I mean, with every new era, there always seems to be a completely updated roar. The jump from 1975 to 1984 presents a deeper roar, and the jump from 1995 to 1999 gives a more clear and enhanced lighter roar that was originally rather grainy due to age.
My prediction is the 2016 would use a mixture of the millennium roar and animal sound effects (as Final Wars was gearing towards that with all of their monsters) while possibly using aspects of the 2014 roar recreation. It would be a smart move to use the new rendition to produce further variations, as it only promotes another variable to the equation.

AdminGodzillaMar-10-2015 6:36 AMI've never really liked how the 2014 and Millennium roars sound rather robotic. There's something very inorganic about those roars. Not that I dislike them as a whole, they're both clearly Godzilla, but they're not my favorite mixes of his bellow.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-10-2015 7:18 AMmaybe a mix of heisei and millenium roar wih a hint of 2014 in there at the end

MemberGodzillaMar-10-2015 7:46 PMKINGKAIJUGOJIRA - This is a very fun topic! Hmm...I would say that I hope the 2016 iteration of Godzilla sounds similar to a combination of the 1984 and early Heisei incarnations. There was something powerful and subtly frightening about the low, bellowing tone of those versions that gave me goosebumps! :)
