MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-20-2015 10:56 PMHey guys, I've been visiting this site for about a year now and just made an account. I'm watching Godzilla 2014, and I've noticed that when Ford and Joe go to the quarantine zone, there are closeup shots of a millipede or centipede first and then what I believe is some kind of beetle. I'm wondering if this is foreshadowing for future opponents. This is also where the glass case with the name Mothra that had Fords cocoon in it. I remember in the comic con trailer it showed a giant insect with many legs like a millipede. My theory is that the millipede could be a monster for Godzilla to fight but not be the main monster villain, sort of like Kamacuras or the Giant Condor, in a future installment in the upcoming sequels. What do you guys think?

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-21-2015 2:50 AMNope. Just bugs put there to make the place look "icky." No foreshadowing whatsoever, especially considering they already named the monsters that will be in the sequels. And at the time of filming, they weren't sure if there would even be any sequels.

There are strong men and weak men. The strong ones are here to keep the weak ones up when ever they fail.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-21-2015 11:57 AMThe Mothra name on the tank was just an easter-egg, Gareth said that we wasn't planning on making any sequels, but he would leave an open ending just in case they do ask him to make one.
And just because they named Mothra Rodan and Ghidorah to be in future installments doesn't necessarily mean that they won't add some of their own created Kaiju into the mix, like the OP said, it might just be a minor monster setting up for the bigger ones.

MemberGiganFeb-21-2015 12:02 PM^ As in it might be a monster that will appear just so that Godzilla can show his power by killing it easily.
Good grief.

MemberGodzillaFeb-21-2015 1:55 PMRANDALLG95 - Welcome to SCIFIED! It is always quite nice toi see new faces! As for the hypothesis you have presented: that is a very interested idea! It may be that the little creatures presented in the first film were simply there to add atmosphere; however, anything is possible! It very well could be that we see a millipede-like monster in the upcoming film! Thank you ever so much for sharing your ideas with us, and, once again, welcome to SCIFIED! :)
