now this could be fake of course but I highly doubt it.
but anyways it looks legit as it has words from toho themselves and the fact they have decided to do it
from 2014's success in the box office , the movie will not have any ties with Edwards film and will be its own movie like final wars etc and will be released in Japan sometime in 2016

This sounds like Godzilla 2000 all over again. Not that I'm complaining at all, but still.

And here most of us were discussing is Toho would make movies after the Legendary series was over when in reality they weren't even going to wait that long before they started back up.

The King of the MonstersDecember 07, 2014
It also depends on continuity I suppose. I anticipate it to be a clean reboot, but in the very unlikely case that it takes place in the same continuity as the Showa or Heisei series or one of the Millennium continuities, then I assume it would be counted as a continuation of that respective series. But again, the most likely scenario by far is that it is a complete reboot like usual.

i wander what type of design there gonna go for with godzilla. sleek, bulky, or a mix

I hope it's used with traditional Japanese special effects and not CG. I don't mind CG being an added tool, but there's many reasons this movie should be done in the traditional way:
1) It will visually seperate it from the Legendary movie series.
2) There's no point in Japan competeing with Hollywood's special effects. They're not going to beat Hollywood at their own game. But the fun thing is, Legendary and Hollywood aren't going to beat Toho at their own game. Plus, it would be an excellent marketing tool. A comparison of productions and how the effects are DIFFERENT, not necessarily worse. Hollywood goes for realistic presentation. Japan goes for stylistic representation.
2) Godzilla gave birth to the Japanese special effects art of filmmaking. He's the grandfather of Tokusatsu. With Ultraman, Super Sentai and Kamen Rider still going on, it's time for Godzilla to return to this style and raise the bar again. That hasn't been done in years and even then it was Gamera 3 that outdid all of the Heisei and Millennium movies. Lets see a real leap forward, like The Return of Godzilla and Gamera: Guardian of the Universe were when they first came out.
People need to get it out of their heads that the Toho Godzilla series is inferior because of their unique special effects technique. On the contrary, it's the Toho Godzilla series that was king of an entire genre of filmmaking. It's the Legendary films where he's merely another addition to well known and overused styles we see in every other movie.

Since Toho said they are considering using suitmation, I have no doubt they intend to use suitmation. The Japanese Godzilla films are characterized by using the classic practical effect of suitmation and pull it off better than Hollywood ever could. A man-in-suit Japanese Godzilla film would be a perfect contrast to Legendary's CGI Godzilla and keep the art of suitmation intact and relevant.

Cool! A upcoming Godzilla film with Godzilla actually appearing longer than 11 minutes, I support this!

Well if Toho doesn't debut the film over here in the states...then they should not be allowed to see anymore of the Godzilla films that we do...

I'm excited but also worried. Its great to see suitmation back on the table and seeing a Japanese Godzilla film again. Here's my worries though: Is it going to conflict with the Legendary series? I really enjoyed the Legendary film and kind of threw me back to good days of the Shows series but with a Hollywood budget so I don't want anything to happen that could conflict with that series. My other worry is that is will it be as terrible as the millenium series? I only found G2000 to be the good film in that series.

Godzillatheking123December 08, 2014
I'm more than thrilled at this news. But how is this going to work in terms of release? Would this new Toho Godzilla be only released in Japan and other non-US markets? Would it not be released here (or only through very niche markets in a few screens) for fear that Legendary might not be pleased there will be another godzilla movie out before theirs?

G. H. (Gman)December 08, 2014
It's a little early to be talking about international distribution of the film. But it will like get a home video release in the States as soon as possible. And depending on its popularity, perhaps a limited theatrical run in a few cities.
Many of you have to understand though, Toho wants their films to be released globally. It's up to the distributors of different countries to actually buy their movies and release them how they see fit.
One option I can see is this not reaching North America until closer to Gareth Edwards Godzilla 2 in order to promote the next Legendary film better. Which would be a shame and largely out of Toho's hands.
In any case I'm quite excited about it. The movie is going to be produced by a fairly prominent producer in Japan. Shogo Tomiyama is no where near this one.

GMAN what's your take on it? I'd like to see a hensei style suit but a 70s (terror of mg) style film. I guess a throwback shows film with a hensei suit lol
