MemberBaragonNov-22-2014 3:28 PMHow’s it goin’, folks? :)
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, and I figured there was no time like the present!
Many, if not most, of us Godzilla fans, myself included, are avid collectors of DVD’s, toys, posters, and other kaiju memorabilia. In this thread, I offer you all a place to share info and pictures of your latest purchases, whether they be a little trinket you found at a hobby shop, an awesome score from eBay, or a massive haul from a convention! Whatever you have just added to your collection, if its kaiju related, share it here!
I’m ALWAYS adding stuff to my collection, so you can count on me sharing my latest purchases here when I have the time to share, and I invite you all to do the same!
Let the bragging sharing commence! :D

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-16-2015 10:42 AMOh, okay. That alien thing kind of looked similar to a Ultraman alien.
Awesome! I might get my Gamera, but I don't have the money; I will probably get it on my birthday as well (which is in 4 MONTHS!) which kinda sucks that I have to wait that long.
That sucks that there was a dock strike. That will be a miracle if it got resolved a little or if not on your birthday.
Oh yeah, heard that the "Egg Series" is coming out now. The Godzilla surprisingly looks pretty good to me!

Danzilla93
MemberBaragonFeb-16-2015 4:54 PM^Yeah, I'm very excited about Bandai importing those Eggs, and the new 12 inch Godzilla 2014 looks awesome! But... WHERE ARE THE FRICKIN' MUTOS?!?!?!?! -_-
The alien on the cover of the book is actually not an alien... its a person! :O He's a test subject from one of the show's greatest episodes, The Sixth Finger, in which a scientist invents a machine that evolves lifeforms into what they will look like thousands, or millions, of years into the future. The dude on the cover was his first human subject, a mild mannered man of average intelect who, after being put into the machine, begins to evolve physically and mentaly. His head gets bigger, he absorbes information from books at an insane rate, and he begins to grow a sixh finger on each hand. By the time he looks like he does on the cover, he's become disgusted by modern, unevolved humans and their primative ways. Its a fantastic story.
I hightly recomend the series!

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-17-2015 12:33 PMI just purchased a six-inch Trendmasters Zilla figure and an 11x17 poster for the original Godzilla on eBay. I'm also currently bidding on a 6'' Bandai Japan Godzilla Junior figure and the 6'' Trendmasters Biollante with sound. I really hope I get them.

MemberBaragonFeb-18-2015 5:02 PM^Good luck on those figures, man! I hope you get them!
Yesterday, I got two goodies... First, I got the nearly 400 page King Kong: History of a Movie Icon book. Man... this thing is incredible! Ic coveres everything from the life stories of the men Kong's creators Merian Cooper, Ernest Shoedsack, and Willis O'Brien, to Kong films that were never made! There's even a section on rip-offs, includig the Chinese Kaiju film The Mighty Peking Man! The books is slightly slanted AGAINST the Toho Kong films, but does cover them in great detail, giving them the same exposure as the five Kong films made here in the U.S. It even briefly discusses the two lost Japanese Kong films from the 1930's... two man-in-suit monster films that predate the original Godzilla by (in the case of the first of the two) by 21 years. Its mostly stuff I've known for years, but its a facninating book!
Secondly, I found a copy if a SERIOUSLY obscure Chinese Kaiju film called Thunder of Gigantic Serpent. THe English version is called Terror Serpent, and although it looks cheesy as all get out, I know I'm gonna love it! Its about a giant snake... what's NOT awesome about that?!
In addition, I have the majority of the things I've had ordered for a long time (in some cases, close to a year) coming to my house next week and the week after! Next week is my birthday as well, so expect a report of any kaiju stuff I may get one week from today!

MemberBaragonFeb-21-2015 5:55 PMI had a nice day of pakage opening today! First, USPS delivered my Destoroyah Egg, which is now my favorite Egg toy of the series! Then (and I'm mentioning it because I'm INSANELY excited about it, even though its not Godzilla related), FedEx delivered the Batman: The Complete Series Limited Edition Blu-ray to my door!!!! I waited and waited for a deal on this thing, as there was NO WAY IN HELL I was paying 270 bucks for this thing. But thanks to an Amazon 50%-off sale, and a $100 gift card I had gathering dust, I payed a Bat-tacular 35 BUCKS OUT OF POCKET FOR IT!!!!!!!! :D Just... let the awesomeness of THAT sink in... Yeah. I'm psyched. B)
My Godzilla 2014 Egg should be here Monday, and Otachi soon after! The next week and teh wek after should see my Godzilla 2014 Japanese Deluxe Blu-ray, and my Kickstarter rewards delivered at last! I'm excited!!!!

At the backing level I selected, I got some good intangable goodies (including my name in the credits!!!!), plus three awesome things that just came in the mail! First, I got a poster designed by Matt Frank depicting ALL the Godzillas together! I also got a Chirashi (flyer) straight from the Godzilla Exhibition that was filmed in the documentary! Most awesomely, though, I got an exclusively created hardcover photobook created just formy backing level!!!! The book is full of professionally taken photos of many of the props in the exhibit! Seriously... stuff like the original suits from GMK and Final Wars, Kiryu, Godzilla Junior... plus Gigan 1972's buzzsaw, the Oxygen Destroyer, Serizawa's diving helmate, original scripts... my God, its glorious. I highly recommend watching the film when it is released, it is going to be awesome!

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-26-2015 10:52 PMThe Kaiju I like the most in Pacific Rim is Otachi, because she looks like a regular dragon type monster, with Destoroyah tail!!! I skipped it because I had to pay the already mentioned purchases, but ever since it is mentioned about a Otachi with extended wings in the Toy fair thread I prefer to wait until that figures comes out. Otachi will get a better look with the extended wings.

Danzilla93
MemberBaragonMar-01-2015 9:40 AM^And the awesome thing is, the wings/arms, toungues, and tails will be interchangable! A few more details on the Winged Otachi just came out, and we now know it will have translucent wings, stumpy tail (after Gisy smashes it off), and a ripped out removable toungue, plus a flight stand and some sort of aparatus to replicate Otachi carrying away whatever Jaeger you choose!!!! This thing is gonna be AWESOME!
Since I'm here, I'll share the INSANE week I've had of stuff coming in the mail... a six day streak (not counting last Sunday) I'm calling... A-PACKAGE-LYPSE!!!!
Last Saturday, I got the Egg Series Destoroyah, Monday, I got the Egg Godzilla 2014 and the first part of my Kickstarter rewards for backing the Hail to the King documentary! Tuesday was the remainder of my rewards, and Wednesday was Otachi!!!! Thursday was perhaps the most crazy day... I got the Godzilla 2014 Deluxe Edition Blu-ray set, MST3K: Volume XXXII from Shout! Factory, and the latest issue of G-FAN! And last but not least, on Friday, I got the third volume of the original Outer Limits series! WHEW!!!!
Plus, my birthday was Wednesday as well, and I ate cake on Godzilla plates! Plus I had a kaiju birthday card and a Godzilla baloon too! THe coolest thing I got was a vintage 1963 marketing pamphlet for the U.S. release of King Kong vs Godzilla!!!! Its super old and falling apart, but MY GOD... IS IT COOL!!!!!!!! Its full of poster order forms, news paper reviews, and great images! Its now officially one f the coolest Godzilla collectables I have!
A-package-lypse came to an end yesterday, and next week should see the rest of my orders and Pre-orders coming in! After that, my money will most likely be exclusively saved for G-FEST and a possible G-TOUR! Lets hope can make it!!!!

XD
Anyway, my week of new stuff continued with a few awesome packages, including...
SO goofy... SO 90's... and SO fun!
I love this man, and this book is incredible. I now have three of the four books he wrote with Tony Dalton, and all of them are fantastic!
And last, but CERTAINLY not least...
HECK. YEAH.
This guy was one f my holy grails. I like the Bandai one, but it was innacurate and 8 inches tall, to big to scale with my 6 inch Godzilla 1973, Gigan, and Jet Jaguar. The Y-MSF version was perfectly scaled, very accurate, and MAN... just LOOK at that sculpt.
I love it. 8)

Sci-Fi King25
MemberGiganMar-15-2015 5:38 PM^Cool! That Ray Harryhausen book looks great! I saw King Kong a few months ago, and the stop motion was amazing (was it Harryhausen who made the stop motion? I know he was part of it). That Megalon is amazing! :O
The Otachi figure is incredible! I've had mine for almost two weeks and already used it in a stop motion, where she and NECA's Trespasser fought the 24-inch Godzilla. I was really impressed with the acid piece (my favorite feature is the tail claw, which is articulated), but it's hard to get the tongue back in when the acid effect is removed. The baby Otachi is really small and easy to lose (I recommend a bag for figure spare parts), yet the head and arms move. NECA even added the wounds on her underside when Crimson Typhoon slashed her. (I expected it to be a bit bigger, but it's still awesome.)

Danzilla93
MemberBaragonMar-16-2015 6:45 PM^ I love Otachi too! I'm super pumped for the Winged version coming out in a few months! Please post that stop motion video, I'd love to see it!!!!
And Ray Harryhausen actually had nothing to do with the production of King Kong. The film came out in 1933, when he was 13 years old! He saw it in theaters, and it inspired him to expirament with stop motion, and the rest is history! Willis O'Brian did the pioneering stop motion for Kong. This is the man who essentially invented film special effects, and he became Harryhausen's mentor in hte late 30's and through out the 40's. They collaborated on Mighty Joe Young in 1949 before Harryhausen struck out on his own.
Oh, while I'm here, I got the Godzilla Bottle Opener and Burning Godzilla Bank last week, and NECA's Burning Godzilla today!!!! I love 'em! NECA's figure was truly worth the wait, and VERY awesome, especially because the light shines through and illuminates theburning patches! I love it!

MemberGiganMar-17-2015 2:12 PM^Cool! :) I always did confuse Harryhausen's and O'Brian's work. The stop motion in The Lost World and King Kong are amazing. (NOW I remember! Harryhausen made the stop motion for The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms!) Also, I'm editing my stop motion right now. :)

MemberBaragonMar-17-2015 4:48 PM^Sweet! I can't wait to see it!
In other news, the wait for my Ifukube 100 Kickstarter rewards is EXCRUCIATING! The prize packs started shipping two and a half weeks ago, and people across the country are getting their perks.
... aaaand I'm still waiting.
I've been super excited for these things ever since March LAST year, when I backed the project. The guys hit a few snags in the production of the perks, and the other backers and I rallied behind them to cheer them on as they completed the project. If anyone deserves patience and support, it is these guys, as they created anexperience at G-FEST that will be with me forever. Now that I know that my perks have been shipped, I'm just so darn excited!!!! I hope they get here tomorrow!

MemberBaragonApr-12-2015 3:22 PMSo I made some purchases that really weren't in my budget, but hey... they were either great deals or things I had been waiting for to come out for a long time. Last month I ordered...
... this guy. Don't judge me, he was less than 20 bucks from Japan. THAT is a steal for this guy. Would you pay $100 for a Minilla?
Then there's...
... the 8th Wonder himself! I just won this awesome X-Plus a few hours ago, for a bit under $70! Next are two new S.H.MonsterArts figures:
And...
I've only recently become a big enough fan of the Alien/Predator franchises to want to collect them, so I've finally bitten the bullet and bought the Alien Warrior. Mecha-King Ghidorah has me INSANELY excited, especially because, thanks to 200 bucks worth of Amazon cards, only cost me 20 bucks!!!! :D HECK. YEAH.
And last but not least...
My collection of these Random House books has exploded the last few months. I'm only missing three now, and it wont be too long before I get them for a good price!
I'm also waiting for my Kaiju Gaiden Kickstarter perks, and I am about to back Symphonic Fury as well, so yeah... my mailbox isn't gonna know what hit it. XD

I still have a while to wait for my Kaiju Gaiden Kickstarter rewards, and now that I've backed the Symphonic Fury Kickstarter campaign, I have those rewards to be excited for! The only thing on its way to me anytime soon is an X-Plus Cyclops from The 7th Voyage of Sinbad! I've wanted this guy forever, and I'm getting him as a "I survived my semester!" gift! HUZZAH!!!!

Unfortunately the majority of my collection went into boxes a few years ago because of moving preparations, but we only now just found a buyer, so I've restocked my shelves with crap over the last two years! When I combine my pre-2013 collection with my post-2013 collection, I shudder to think of how big my entire family of toys will be! One thing I know, though... its gonna be awesome! ;)
Oh, and while I'm here... I may have bought the X-Plus Kali to go with my Cyclops... That means I now have all eight of the X-Plus 8in. Ray Harryhausen fugures at last! :D

MemberBaragonMay-04-2015 6:49 PM^Aw man, I'm sorry. :( I'm going through the same thing right now. And thats not counting all my posters, original art, and the full-sized Gigan suit I'm building. -_- Once I get everything set up one day, I'll definitely share my pictures here! Thank you for your interest! :D
Oh, and Kali came today! She's AWESOME!!!! My Harryhausen X-Plus vinyl collection is complete! I also lost a bidding war on eBay for the Gamera: The Brave Blu-ray earlier. A bummer, but I'm NOT paying 100 bucks for ANY movie, no matter how good it is.

MemberBaragonJun-30-2015 5:13 PMThread bump to get it back where people can see it. :)
Lets see... well, I finally moved, and into a TINY room I am sharing with my brother. We barely have room to turn around, so all but three of my 300+ Godzilla/monster toys and collectables are currently in plastic totes in storage. :'( All that survives in my new digs are three stalwarts: me NECA 18" BD Gipsy Danger, my NECA 24" Godzilla, and DST's Mechagodzilla bust bank. I do have all my movies to keep me company, though, and I may have enough wall space for one poster.
But last week, I had my first box day at my new house! Thanks to my driveway being impenitrable to the mail truck, I had two packages denied delivery on Thursday and Friday, so I went to the TINY post office in the TINY town near my house to pick them up. They contained my SHMA Godzilla 2000 Special Color Version and NECA's Pacific Rim Jaeger Series 6 Reactor Blast Gipsy Danger and Horizen Brave! All three are sitting next to me on my desk, and looking awesome!
I also cleaned house during a Barnes & Noble and Best Buy run last week! I left with a documentary on the classic 1930's monsters, a boxset of the original The Fly trilogy, and best of all, Monsters: Dark Continent on Blu-ray! I also snagged the latest Famous Monsters, and while there was no kaiju issue this year, this issue DID have a nice Gamera retrospective, celebrating 50 years of everyone's favorite turtle!
And last but not least, yesterday I snagged the NECA Godzilla 1954 Body Knocker from Toys R Us. I was looking for the NES Godzilla, but was more than happy to leave with a new kaiju happy-flapper instead!
Hopefully I'll be holding off on any further purchases until G-FEST next week (HOLY CRAP, NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), but NECA's Winged Otachi did just get released... *gulp*

From Toys R Us, I got the new 12" tall Godzilla 2014, and Diamond Select's new classic Universal Monsters Series Wolfman and Imhotep the Mummy, as portrayed by the legendary Boris Karloff! And from a local comic book store, I got THREE kaiju comics (Kodoja #1, a great indie kaiju book that you all should check out, and the 3rd issues of both Pacific Rim; Tales From the Drift and Project: Nemesis) AND... drumroll please... the new Diamond Select Jet Jaguar bank!
