Two gentlemen by the name of John DeSentis and Chris Oglio have started a Kickstarter campaign to fund something amazing... Ifukube and Godzilla: A Musical Celebration. This will be the first ever live concert event in the U.S. dedicated solely to the works of legendary monster meistro Akira Ifukube. To celebrate Godzilla's 60th birthday, and Ifukube-san's 100th, DeSentis and Oglio plan to put together a massive concert to be held at G-FEST XXI in Chicago this year. I don't know about you guys, but this is quite literally a dream come true for me. I have dreamed of something like this happening my entire life, and now that dream has a chance to become a reality. But (if you'll parden the cliche), it cannot happen without YOUR help. DeSentis and Oglio need to raise $25,000 in the next 17 days in order for this concert to happen, and right now they are nearly half way there! If any of you out there reading this can donate, then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE donate! No amount is too little, and rewards await you for pledging money! For a complete description of the project, a great video, and a list of rewards you can get for donating certain amounts, check out the Kickstarter page:

Also, here is a link to Kyle Yount's excelent Godzilla podcast, the Kaijucast, and his latest episode: an interview with DeSentis and Oglio on this ambitious project:
I reiterate: if you have the means to donate, PLEASE do so! It is money well spent, I assure you! :D
So what do you think? Will you donate? Have you already donated? Will you be attending? Please comment! :)
