Download Rifftrax's Hysterical Commentary of Godzilla 1998!!!!

Howdy fans!

For those of you who wish you could stick it to GINO, or at least be in the company of people who can do it in a hilarious and entertaining way… then look no further than Rifftrax!

For those who don’t know, Rifftrax is the successor project to the funniest TV show ever created, Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K), a show that had us laughing at, and along, with, some of the most bizarre, cheesy, and sometimes outright horrible movies ever made! The MST guys, over their 11 years on air, tackled a number of Japanese tokusatsu productions, including five Gamera films and, in season 2, TWO Godzilla films: Godzilla vs Megalon and Godzilla vs The Sea Monster. However, even though they referenced the abominable G98 in a special from 1998, they were unable to take direct shots at it due to its blockbuster status.

But, 16 years later, that has all changed…

A few months ago, after a successful Kickstarter campaign, Rifftrax (staring half of the MST crew) riffed Godzilla (1998) live, and the event was broadcast to theaters nationwide! I went, and I DIED laughing, as it was something that I had always dreamed I would see! I’m actually a defender of GINO in many ways (cool design, fun movie, but GODZILLA himself is nowhere to be seen…), but finally seeing it ripped apart in a brilliant and hilarious way was incredible!

And now, for those who didn’t get to experience the awesomeness, Mike, Kevin, and Bill have released an audio MP3 of a studio recording of the riff! Please note, this is NOT the live version, as legal poop has prohibited the film from getting a release with the live riff. This version is an MP3 file that can be synced up with a DVD/Blu-ray copy of the film in your own home! It’s the format Rifftrax has been using for years, and it has served them well!
