MemberGodzillaOct-14-2014 10:52 AMHello there.
I've been toying around with a notion that I believe some of you might find interesting. The premise hinges upon a single question: are Godzilla's nuclear reserves in any way unstable? This notion stands to reason in multiple lights, not the least of which is the fact that all nuclear material is quite, um, energetic unless somehow dampened. Bearing this in mind (and assuming that the nuclear energy inherrant to Godzilla's physiology behaves according to scientific observation), do you believe Godzilla actually utilizes his long periods of submersion within the deepest, coldest depths of the ocean as a natural baffle to keep his biological atomic reactor stable - much like cooling vats for nuclear power plants? Could it be that Godzilla's species evolved into amphibians as a necessity to keep themselves from going into a terminal meltdown?
As always, your thoughts and conjecture on this topic are most appreciated, even if you choose to keep them to yourself. :)

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-14-2014 10:58 AMI have had a similar theory for a long time, with that much radiation surging through him Godzilla, no matter which version, would have extreme internal body tempatures and would have to stay at the bottom of the ocean to keep cool, so yes I do believe Godzilla spends incredible amounts of time under water in order to cool his natural nuclear reactors.
I? I am a monument to all of your sins.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-14-2014 11:10 AMthis would eexplain the "gills". maybe they for taking in water to down his "reactor" and not exactly for breathing

MemberGodzillaOct-14-2014 11:11 AMVARA04276 - Indeed! The sheer energy output of such a substantial biological reactor would have to be immense! Even if Godzilla's "yield" is relatively low by nuclear power standards, he would still require a substantial amount of cooling to remain intact! Hmm, I wonder what Godzilla's half-life is...? ;)

MemberGiganOct-14-2014 11:12 AMThis would indeed make sense, the deep sea water would act as a coolant to his engine.
Thank you for sharing this with us Something real :).
Good grief.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-14-2014 11:16 AMGodzilla's liking of water would definitely indicate your cooldown idea as true. but evolution into an amphibian is, no offense, pretty farfetched. yet this is a fictional movie, where something like that seems possible. the radiation is probably stored very safely in his body, where it shall never escape and only cause damage to himself.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-14-2014 11:21 AMVery possible. Maybe his Atomic Breath is the way he can relieve the pressure, and was utilized into a weapon, and eventually controlled.

MemberGodzillaOct-14-2014 11:24 AMTHE DOCTOR - All things being equal, I'd rather not have to watch Godzilla die in the same manner he did in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. That was bloody heartbreaking! If you don't mind me asking, how is an organisms evolution into an amphibious mode of life in order to suit its biological needs far-fatched? Whales were land-based animals whom gradually took to the sea in order to secure a better life. :)

MemberGodzillaOct-14-2014 11:28 AMGOJIRA2K - Now THAT is a very interesting hypothesis! Thank you ever so much for adding this to the discussion! I'll definately consider its implications for some time to come! :)

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-14-2014 11:38 AMSomething Real, your welcome! Maybe to add on that, if the Godzilla has the Nuclear Pulse, it could be the same thing, just a different way of relieving the pressure that could be utilized.

MemberTitanosaurusOct-14-2014 11:47 AMThe official infographic site says that this Godzilla's breath weapon is created when he uses his atomic energy. In the novel, it's said that the breath is actually super-dense plasma. Both would mean that, by using up his atomic energy reserves, he can ignite and create intense plasma that can cause damage to the likes of other giant animals, like the MUTOs, and like the other monsters appearing in the sequel and possible sequel to that.

MemberGodzillaOct-14-2014 11:52 AMTHEGMAN123 - Very interesting! I rememebr the "super-dense plasma" notion from the novel; I thought it was quite interesting! Thank you so very much for the information you've provided! :)

MemberGodzillaOct-14-2014 11:53 AMGOJIRA2K - Definately! That would relieve a great deal of the nuclear buildup in one go! :)

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-14-2014 12:48 PMI might make a discussion about my theory. What do you think?

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-14-2014 6:07 PMMost of this makes sence, exept that sea wataer due to soudium and other minerals is not ideal for cool down, In the japanese 2011 earthquakem when the Nuclear power plant started to meltdown and the water cooling system whas disabled, the Sea water did little to help and Ultimatkkey the Nuclear power plant started to leak radiation

MemberGodzillaOct-14-2014 7:42 PMGOJIRA2K - I think that's a fantastic idea! Go for it! :)

MemberGodzillaOct-14-2014 7:45 PMJRR - What an excellent counter-point! I recall quite a bit of the information concerning that particular incident and you're quite right, the sea water did little to halt the progress of the leak. Do you suppose that the sea water draining into the facility wasn't cold enough - say, like that which is located int he deeper reaches of the ocean? :)
