after seeing the new godzilla film , i thought this : is the godzilla in this film a cryptid

like bigfoot , the loch ness monster , the yeti , and the flatwoods monster

i mean , think about it , godzilla reawakened in 1954 and began roaming around the pacific ocean (and , of course , the humans tried to kill him with nuclear warheads like the paranoid creatures they are) and he's millions of years old

think about it

Well, in the movie, he's considered a legend to the native Pacific islanders. One that was more or less confirmed after Hiroshima.

LEAPER - What a very intersting concept you've put forward! If there were reports of a creature like Godzilla roaming the Earth, I could definately see him beingcategorized as a Cryptid! Thank you for sharing this fascinating notion! :)

Cryptids are creatures who arent confirmed to exist.

Godzilla is confirmed to exist, so no. He would not be categorized as a Cryptid, but maybe Mythology.

Good grief.

No GG Mythological creatures are also not Considered real, he would be more or less like gorillas or Crocodilles once bealived to be fiction and Inspiring many legends only to be later be discovered

Godzilla appeared in the late 1940's and disappeared after being nuked in 1954. He did not appear in 1954. That is a very common misconception by fans who watched the movie and only heard 1954. Legendary's official lore states Godzilla was sighted as early as the late 1940's when the legends of the islanders dubbed him as Gojira. Watch the special features of the Blu-Ray and you'll see.

Really, TW? I thought Lucky Dragon was just the most notable test :/

Well, you are right about him appearing in the 40s first. It's also covered in Awakening, where he's awakened shortly after Hiroshima.
