Paramedics had arrived as soon as the battle was over. All people they could find were directed to the park. Peter was sitting there, several officers were there making sure no one wanders off. The guys had managed to find Peter, but he was worried about Gwen. Peter couldnt take the frustration anymore, and he got up to go look for her. John was about to follow him
-John, let him go- says Mason
It was hard to find anyone in the park, it was crowded. He saw a girl being treated, its was Gwen. He runs over to her, she got a bandage over her entire left arm, from wrist to shoulder. She was in pain, he screams for her, and runs over to her. They hug and reconcile.
-Gwen, are you okay? - asks Peter
-Yeah im fine, I just got some deep cuts and lacerations on my arm- says Gwen
Thunderous footsteps are heard, everyone sees Godzilla help Zilla Jr to sea. News headlines read "Earth's Second Defender?"
Peter and Gwen head back to their tent as 'Earth's Second Defender' heads off.
Epilogue:
2019, it has been 4 years since the incident, May 16 is officially now the day where all people in the world commemorate the day when humanitys epic struggle against kaiju began. Peter and Gwen are married and have a have 3 year old son now. Peter and the guys are still in the army, but arent as active anymore. Gwen is now a member of Monarch.
-Ok, im leaving, see you in a few days- says Peter
He kisses Gwen before leaving
-Love you- says Gwen
-Love you too- says Peter
Peter then goes to the car which picks him up for the airport. Flight to Hong Kong, where he would be picked up by Monarch for the submarine with Serizawa.
Peter thought this would be a few days, then he would return and life would be normal, little did he know he was going to be transported to a another universe. One where giant robots called Jaegers, fought kaiju on a monthly basis.
