MemberMothra LarvaeAug-18-2014 8:38 AMThis sucks. I can't believe we aren't getting this as well.
There is no extended cut nor is there any delete scenes on the upcoming U.S Blu ray.
But lo and behold the Korean Steelbook has (10 minutes of deleted scenes in the special features section) of the blu ray, and also a new special feature where Gareth talks about them.
They're called:
Threading the Needle: Editing Godzilla. what secrets lie on the cutting room floor, Director Gareth Edwards leads a one of a kind tour through the deleted scenes, sequences, and shots of Godzilla. (15:43)
Deleted Scenes: (10:00)
Check it out:

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-18-2014 10:25 AMIf this is true, it's ridiculous!!! This movie is AMERICAN!! and we should be proud of it! We the Americans should get the full benefits of this movie!! This is just how Star Wars the Clone Wars season 6 played out. Some foreign country got to see the last season awhile before it made its debut on Netflix in America, Star Wars is American and should be viewed/ showed first here as well . Just absoloutly ridiculous!!

AdminGodzillaAug-18-2014 11:27 AMGuys, nowhere does it say we North America won't be getting deleted scenes. It's likely buried under the "MUTO Files" or whatever else they gave a snappy name too. This is jumping the gun a bit much.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-18-2014 12:08 PMWhat Gman said, it was never confirmed anywhere that we WOULDN'T be getting deleted scenes.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-18-2014 12:13 PM@GODZILLA14 The fact that you are American makes no damn difference. Besides, it was directed by a British man. The point is that ALL releases of the movie worldwide should have equal content. Besides, GMAN and INSTINCTIVEGIGAN are perfectly right.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-18-2014 1:33 PMI hope this isn't going to be how Star Trek Into Darkness was where special features where spread out to multiple releases, and they'll say "Oh look we petitioned WARNER to cull all the features, and put them together into a compendium.
Already the Target Godzilla 2014 has a feature not found on any other store exclusive it's called "BIRTH OF AN ICON" Featurette.

AdminGodzillaAug-18-2014 3:01 PMAlx,
That doesn't mean the deleted scenes aren't part of the MUTO Files or Monarch Declassified...etc...etc... Almost all releases these days have more features than they've let on.
In the case of Star Trek into Darkness, Paramount has been milking double dips from their Bluray releases for years by putting exclusive content on different versions of their home video releases. They're notorious for it.
Warner Brothers has no such track record. All the basic special features will be with each release and only one bonus feature will added depending on which version you get. (Which right now is only the Target version.) They did something similar with Pacific Rim last year. It was to be expected.
As for deleted scenes, you're right, it makes no sense for one country to see the deleted content and not another. So you probably answered your own question there.
