Muto mating habits and parental behavior

*Spoilers*

So, what are the Muto mating habits. We know that the female will lay dormant until the male is mature. And we know that the male will bring the female a gift. But what is the rest of the story. How long do the male and female stay a couple. Does the male help guard the nest? Does he take care of the young? Or does he leave once the eggs hatch? Does the female leave once the eggs hatch? Does the female eventually tire of the male and chase him away? We may never know how they creatures would raise their young and how long they would stay mates. They could be mates until the offspring are born or until they tire of each other and one is chases off (more likely the male). Perhaps they mate for life like many species of animal. Perhpas they care for their young until they can fend for themselves. Maybe they are cannibals, who eat the runts or weaklings of the brood. Because Godzilla destroyed the adults and Ford destroyed the nest, we may never know.
