With this new film being out, it's reaching a new generation of children. Let me start by saying my first G movie was given to me on video tape by my mother and uncle who in their time Godzilla films were being played in theaters (60s and 70s and 80s). The film was G vs The Sea Monster, i fell in love with the film and fell in love with Godzilla. Fast forward I'm a 5 year old kid walking in walmart and kmart screaming at anyone who was watching over me for a TrendMaster Godzilla toy and a new godzilla video tape. Some of best memories as a child. Ever since then I've been a big G-Fan.
Well back on topic. I was in walmart today, I happened to be in the electronics section which is next door to the toy section, as I was purchasing a phone charger from the clerk, I look to my right to find a Godzilla stand filled with the new Godzilla toys.
I smiled when i saw the bin. As I was smiling a small boy between the age of 3-5 walked around the corner of the bin in curiousity and once he saw the Big G's face, his face lit up and smiled. He began jumping up and down saying "Godzilla! Godzilla! Godzilla!" his mom eventually came around asking what he was so excited about, she smiled and realized what it was and said "Oh it's Godzilla! Do you want one? We're gonna have to get you some houses to destroy." I couldn't help but feel the butterflies in my stomach and go back and think of how when I was that age I was doing the same with the trendmasters toys. I begin thinking how thankful I was that this new film is bringing a new generation of G-Fans. Because being a G-Fan has benefitted my life for the better.
God Bless Godzilla.
