Welcome to the new Godzilla-Movies.com!

For those online this late, you've already noticed the changes. For those just logging on, orjust finding this thread now, welcome! Welcome to the new Godzilla-Movies.com!

If you're viewing the site and it looks proper and not chaotic, then I'm happy to introduce the new design of Godzilla-Movies.com. 

With Godzilla being #1 movie in the world, PLUS the announcement of a SEQUEL, I couldn't put this off any longer. To celebrate Godzilla's success, I've completely redesigned and fine tuned the site. Below are a couple of key features and changes made:

1. NEW HOMEPAGE! The homepage has been updated significantly and now features a smaller sliding feature, a featured discussions box high up on the page, so you can see what everyone's talking about quickly, followed by a news feed now directly feeding from our Godzilla Movies blog on Scified. (Old links still work, don't worry).

2. NEW FORUM LAYOUT! The forum homepage has changed significantly as well. As a response to feedback from many of our users, the forums now contain both a more "classic" feel, while still bringing something new to the table. The main forum categories are listed up top in a graphical chart. Below that, is a list of the latest threads ORDERED BY MOST RECENTLY POSTED IN. This will help defeat repeat topics and make finding new discussions much easier.

3. 2 NEW FORUM CATEGORIES! Yes, as requested, I have added 2 new forums to discuss in. Godzilla Sequel Discussions and Godzilla Merchandise Discussions. These will help keep the forums better organized and allow searching of related topics to be done more easily.

4. NEW DESIGN TEMPLATE! One of the most obvious changes is the design template. With this design, I thought it was time to give Godzilla-Movies.com some identity. Before we were rocking a Godzilla movie logo up top, with a count down timer, etc... People referred to us as "That Godzilla site" or "Godzilla movie news", etc... only a few referred to us as Godzilla-Movies.com. Well, now there won't be denying it - as the new site has been individualized.

The new logo, contains the film logo with our web address underneath. This rests on top of a cutom made Godzilla silhouette. That logo also rests atop another custom made cityscape graphic which spans the top of every page.

With this design, I not only wanted to give the site some identity, but I also wanted to emphasis and embody Gojira and pay homage to the movies which this site was created for. So, the new logo and cityscape design emphasizes those iconic wide-angle shots of Godzilla from all his films, stomping through cities. In addition to that, I also added the Japanese Gojira text to the navigation, beside our web address and link to homepage - this was to pay homage to Godzilla's roots in Japan and show that this site is open to any fan, of any nationality.

As I said in a previous discussion, it's been an honor to have run this site for all of you and I enjoy logging on every day to see what's new. This new design is meant to solidify Godzilla-Movies.com in the Kaiju fandom and to show that we will continue to provide news and discussion on all things Godzilla.
