Which Godzilla do you think looks more fat? GMK Godzilla or 2014 Godzilla. Personally I think GMK Godzilla looks fat with that pot belly of his.

Why do people insist on thinking the new Godzilla is fat? That right there is pure muscle!

I know right! The new one is not fat. But I'm just saying. Since many claim he is fat, I wanted to get people's opinion on which Godzilla is fatter than the other.

Well I would say the Hesei Godzilla is the fattest, mainly because of those damn thighs. I pesonally think the Millenium Godzilla looks the most athletic because of his slender build, but I haven't seen the movies so I can't say for sure.But none of them can compare to the destructive raw power that is Godzilla 2014!

KINGKAIJUGOJIRA - I'd have to lean toward the iteration of Godzilla from GMK - he was definately a little on the, hmm, "roundish" side. I believe this was intentional, however, in order to make him look more disreputable and monstrous - much like many ogre-like villains we see in other fictions. :)

@SOMETHING REAL

I can see the logic in that. There have been many a fat guy/creature depicted as the bad guy/monster. Such as Oogie Boogie Man (Nightmare Before Christmas), The Penguin (Batman), numerous Titans (Attack on Titan), Doctor Eggman (Sonic the Hedgehog), and even Eric Cartman (South Park).

KINGKAIJUGOJIRA - Indeed! Each of those baddies you've described is an excellent archetype for the "heavy" antagonist, which is primarily utilized to illustrate greed. :)

How is it you've never seen any of the original films? Have you attempted to find them?

@SOMETHING REAL,

I have no idea what "archetype" means, but thank you for the complement.

I just remembered some more. Jabba the Hut (Star Wars),...huh, thought I had more. Oh, well. We get the point.

Well maybe it's because unlike you guys I never really grew up with any of the old Toho movies. Godzilla isn't exactly popular in the UAE, heck I was lucky to stumble upon the videogames. Infact playing the videogames was what kept my interests alive at heart. But then over time my scrutiny for Godzilla had died out due to the fact no more videogames were going to be released, which was the reason why I didn't really check on the movies. My long lost interests and fondness for Godzilla only came back through the discovery of this website, and well... the first announcement and teaser of it anyway.

AggressiveKaiju45, I grew up with the Millennium series and I have the Showa movies. I found them at places like Barnes & Nobles. Plus You can easily find them at Amazon.

Murph Dog, I completely agree with you.

I'd certainly look into checking out these wonderful films. The new movie will likely be a fairly solid, but it's the original series with the history. I don't know how many Godzilla movies are available in your region code, but there are always alternate routes you could take to acquire and/or watch these movies.
