Do you think Muto is similar to Cloverfield? I believe they are making fun of Cloverfield

If you look at Cloverfield and Muto on the walking stage like this one:

Doesn't this resemble a similarity to this:

If it does, I believe they are making fun of Clovy, to which I think it's hilarious!

What's ur opinion?

Initially I did, but the more and more I see of the MUTO the less and less I see the Cloverfield monster in it. I think it's the multiple large and small arms that give off that feeling.

It seems that everything that has a bunch of arms and uses most of them to walk is regarded as a "Cloverfield."

I don't see much resemblance to be honest, except for the arms on the chest.

I think there's only two main similarities, the long front legs, and the little pair of mid body limbs. (Cloverfield's belly limbs are weird vaccuum tubes into its stomach but they don't show much of those in the film.)

Well, it indeed bares a resemblance to Cloverfield, but I don't think they are making fun of Clover.

KEVIN_C_VANG - There are a few arbitrary similarities between Clover and the MUTO. However, they are, overall, fundamentally different creatures. I strongly believe that the creators of the MUTO didn't have plans to poke fun at Cover's design, because doing so would undermine the validity of their creations. Godzilla is in no way a spoof, ergo it is very likely not to make fun of another film. Of course, I could be wrong in my hypothesis - the people whom created Godzilla's creature effects could very well be snickering away into their sleeves as the MUTO lumber across the stage. That being said, only they will know the truth of it. :)

I'm happy to find little beyond an abitrary resemblence here. I hated the Cloverfield design and it ended up taking me out of the movie.

The body structure does seem to offer an ambiguous similarity.

Life is very simple, but we insist on making it complicated.
