MemberMothra LarvaeApr-01-2014 7:02 AMWhile im painting and drawing my artwork for the past few weeks,i noticed something interseting..So i study several Godzilla images and gather it together to make my artwork as accurate as possible..I study some SMASH3 images,Neca toys, jakks pacific toys, promotional images, psoters, and Godzilla Encounter footage..And quite frankly, they're all looks the same yet looks different at the same time..For example :
The colours from SMASH 3 seems a bit greenish and has a lighter colours in general
Godzilla from the first official trailer looks plain deep black with no shades of colours at all
Godzilla from Empire seems has orange and red shading all over his body
Godzilla from the toys promotional art and the brazil are have a different side-neck spike placing, but they're both has charcoal colours and no other shades of colours
The Neca figures, the Bandai figures, the jakks pacific toy all black and have a shade of brown on their chest and abdobment area..
The Godzilla encounter has a very strange head shape, has a gills, but the colous on his body is strikingly similar to the SMASH 3 godzilla and very similar to the last trailer..
encounter footage
SMASH 3
The jakks pacific toy
Neca toys
The Official trailer
The Official Teaser Trailer
Promotional Art
So what's goin on here? Overal they all have a similar design only have differences in colours, spike plating, gills positions, and posture..I assume the godzilla encounter and the main trailer are the final design, and the empire magazine's godzilal a bit over saturate..but that's just my guess..anyone have an idea ??

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-01-2014 9:02 AMwell they look very similar, it's probably just Big-G pictured at diffrent angles, but the empire magazine is the FINAL desgin. I'm preety sure

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-01-2014 9:19 AMBeing a very active artist, I believe this is a result of several factors, one being that Legendary may be doing their best to hide what little of Godzilla's true design they can (unlikely), or it is simply because of artistic style.
As for the magazine design, the color is not actually his color. It is because of the lighting (presumable sunrise or sunset), and the choice of shading and highlighting by the artist. It is fairly obvious that it is in no way his final coloration, but quite evidently his final design.
To explain the green coloration of Godzilla in any form is simply because that is how Americans have always corrupted Godzilla's colors (old posters and a cartoon evidence this).
To explain why his anatomy constantly shifts; that is probably, extremely likely, of the fact that many of the things released for the public to see are not actually the finished material. Therefor, none of it is actually finalized. Except, quite likely, the Empire Magizine (but, as I said, the colors are a result of artistic choice and the scene in which Godzilla was placed).

MemberBaragonApr-01-2014 9:29 AMthe images are not changing neither is godzilla's design, these images you show are from a mobile game, kids toys, and other merchandise besides empire magazine gave us first view of godzilla :)

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-01-2014 9:44 PMI wonder if the Godzilla is ever changing due to post production or if its story related. I think the differentt colors are due to battle damage, that lates image he looks pretty jacked up in
What if: Godzilla is growing rapidly in the film
What if: If his spines are used as weapons and he can extend and withdraw them at will, that would be a neat feature, could explain the difference in size of them
What if: There actually is more than one Godzilla, I said on an earlier post that the finale could be a "Gorgo" moment where at the last minute, momma zilla saves her infant from the mutos and man.
My 2 cents...
