something that is weird about the 8 legged Muto

I just Got the destruction pack set and it super cool but why is it called 8 legged muto i took the arms of off it (yes you can do that) and i counted the legs but they're only 6 counting the arms is 8 but the long ones that are paired hold he or she up and the curled arms are counted as legs and thats weird.Tell me if you think thats weird that the arms are counted as legs and i dont see them rubbing their junk on the earth and then Godzilla comes and stomps the hell out of them in the movie i dont not but that would be funny but yea thats all.
