MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-21-2014 11:09 AMi think to avoid spoiling the movie for people and fans who haven't seen the movie yet, i propose that NO ONE should post a thread releating to anything that happens in this movie for a few week (2-4 weeks maybe) after the movie is released. some of you may disagree, but this is for the saftey of any gfan on this site or just browsing this site who haven't had the time to watch it on the day (not everyone does get the time to watch a movie), you could argue that we will warn them with the 'SPOILER' alert, but even then they might be tempted to go on a thread.
what do you guys think, will you post a spoiler topic or will you not to prevent tjhse who haven't seen the movie from being spoiled

MemberBaragonFeb-21-2014 11:18 AMThe movie needs to be discussed after it comes out. Sorry but talking about it for months speculating and hyping just to take a few weeks off when the actual movie comes out doesn't make sense. If you put spoiler in the title, and some1 looks that's on them.
I don't post on this section too much as opposed to the classic section because there is only so much you can say about speculation, and a lot of the topics that circulate this section are repeats, but once the actual movie comes out and I have material behind my claim of loving or hating it I plan on talking about it. The things done well, the things done poorly, possible sequels, ect. If I make a topic and put spoiler and some1 complains about me spoiling the movie for them when there's clearly a warning I'll laugh at them.

MemberTitanosaurusFeb-21-2014 11:39 AMIt is the only logical choice. I hate to spoil it for my fellow Godzilla fans. What kind of person would I be to spoil it. A bad person, thats who.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-21-2014 1:55 PMHa, I don't see a 2-4 week time frame that I won't see the movie. Hell, I wouldn't make it through the weekend! The is the #1 Movie I want to see, since I saw and got disappointed by "Ferris Bueller vs The Iguana."
People will be excited and if it lives up to the hype, they will be talking. Probably too quick to throw a "Spoiler" warning up. The is the nature of the fan site, I'm sorry to say. For some of us, there is no one else to talk about this to. You know how people are, you get excited about a Godzilla movie and they look at you like you're crazy.
So, no offense, view the site at your own risk after the movie, unless you want to be spoiled. It's a harsh reality, but you know that I'm being real.

MemberTitanosaurusFeb-21-2014 2:01 PM@Cobrazilla, "Ferris Bueller vs. The Iguana." That sums the 1998 movie with the highest amount of accuracy in the fewest amount of words except for this one: sh*t.

AdminGiganFeb-21-2014 2:28 PMWe usually work hard to keep spoilers at a minumum when a movie is released so don't worry. People are asked to add a *spoilers* caption to their posts titles and people are forwarned to proceed with caution when reading the articles. That system worked well for Prometheus so no doubt it will work as well with Godzilla.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-21-2014 3:15 PMI'm likely to come back here after I've seen the movie to gush about how awesome (or not) it was. I won't include spoilers but naturally people are going ot want to continue their discussions about Godzilla and this is the perfect place to do it.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-21-2014 3:18 PMAs Durpoo stated, it's as simple as putting [SPOILERS] in the title. If anyone clicks the topic, then it's their fault for seeing spoilers, having been adequately warned.
No amount of discussion should be quelled for such petty reasoning. Especially when the situation is so easily remedied.

AdminSpaceGodzillaFeb-21-2014 5:48 PMBack when Prometheus was released, I developed an automated spoiler warning system which would post a big spoiler warning on topics for those wishing to avoid such things. But the Staff and now Moderators will be working to try to keep spoilers to a minimum.
Basically, no spoiler content revealed in the title, for example (not a real spoiler): "The MUTO is actually Baragon!!" - A topic like that would need to be censored and the staff here reserve the right to do so as a courtesy to those who don't see the film on opening night.
Don't worry, we'll be keeping a lock down on spoilers. ;) At least for the first 2 weeks. Then, if you haven't seen Godzilla after 2 weeks, you're gonna have to endure some spoilers, hahaha.

MemberMothra LarvaeFeb-22-2014 1:51 AMI support anti-spoiler stuff anyday, I hate the concept of ruining stuff for people whether it be myself or someone else. But I do believe that everyone should be allowed to make spoiler/spoiler-free reviews of the film once they've seen it. For example, I hope to see Godzilla opening night and post a spoiler-free review as soon as I reach my computer, but someone may want to find a spoiler-filled review that gives specifics.
There should definitely be a system, but my real concern is BEFORE the film spoilers.

Chris
AdminSpaceGodzillaFeb-22-2014 3:27 AMYeah, we'll be trying to keep the reviews to our "Reviews" section on Scified, for Godzilla, which can be found at: http://www.scified.com/movie/godzilla-2014. Once the movie is out, the option to Rate & Review will become available.
Going to try to keep as many reviews off the forums as possible, so we can also minimize early spoilers. Plus the reviews will not spoil anything in the titles, since only the body text is previewed and you need to manually click to read the entire thing. Much better system for reviewing than the forums.
